I tried doing that and it didn't work
but nvm
I tried this and it worked

AND NOW I HAVE A NEW PROBLEM!
The controls work fine and I can skip the cinematic
but when I get to the screen where I have to select a faction
THE CONTROLS STOP WORKING!!!
I tried pressing everything on the controller AND the keyboard (and mouse) and nothing happened
God damn it Ubisoft!
restart, see if setting the nvidia thing to global on all programs helps
Does this game seriously use P2P networking?
how to save on server costs for an alpha 101

In the alpha around a year ago there was no keyboard and mouse controls at all. The game required a controller.

Not hard to believe. Combat is 100% designed around pad with KB+M being more or less afterthought just because they are coming to PC too. One of few PC games where you are in clear disadvantage without pad.

If Alpha is P2P you can be sure that Beta and Retail are also P2P.

Oh, really? Kk

How can I download the game? When I click in the invite it leads me to a page saying "YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THIS PAGE AT THIS TIME".

I was very excited for this game, and it's way more fun than I thought it would be. I'm actually enjoying the bigger modes. Once you get used to the fighting mechanics, you can see the complexity of this really start to shine. I can't wait until the full game comes out.
I love all the customization and your gear and character too.

It's a hell of a lot of fun.

Interesting game from what I've played. There's obvious server issues in 4v4 and some frame drops on ps4. I've gotten the hang of pretty much every character other than the heavy Knight with the shield. I'm curious to see how the game will be supported. How many maps, modes, and heroes will there be? How frequently will content be added? And so forth. My biggest concern right now is that the game won't have legs.

God this is unplayable, everybody is teleporting all over the place and nothing but disconnects.
I was playing in windowed mode at an average of 15fps, and I never had this issue. Pretty sure my GeForce experience needs to be messed with, but the game played great for what I could get working. I get off work in a couple hours and gonna give it another go.

Lol, this game is hilarious I am liking it a lot. The P2P connections might kill the online community though, some games are lag fests and the justices and combat really take a nose dive from lag. Nothing like charging someone as a berserk into a spike wall or off of the map.

The animations in this game are so good.

No idea about maps and modes, aside from a sngleplayer campaign, but there are 6 more classes. Each faction has a heavy, vanguard, assassin, and hybrid archetype. Right now we can play the three vanguards, one heavy, and two assassins.

And GG in that random matchup we had! Sweatin a bit at that finish!

The game is everything I had hoped it would be. Fundamentally strong, interesting, fresh, addictive. It felt so weird at first because it doesn't play like anything else but once it clicks...

...I haven't felt like this about a fighting game's mechanics since Soulcalibur in 1998. <3

And the fact that it incorporates some Dark Souls, with MOBA and shooter style gameplay as well? Good job, Ubi. Good job, Vandenberghe.

EDIT: Klyka was right...you really do need the icons, lol.

Hmm good to know. I would have preferred one of the hybrid types be available to try instead of two assasins. But 12 total characters seems reasonable to start with. I'm curious to see how much variety there is once you can actually select which skills you want.

GG indeed. When I saw and recognized all of your psn names I figured that I was in for a tough match :p.

I agree, one hybrid would have been cool to check out.

I think all the skills are available now if you play one class long enough. I've mostly been sticking to the Viking raider, and I've got 8 of the 12 skills unlocked so far.

Cannot wait til people learn they gottah capture them points and not just go for kills

I wonder why this is still a problem.

"Capture the Flag" has got to be the second most used multiplayer gaming modes next to Deathmatch, almost every multiplayer game has some version of it and yet there are still people who don't know how it works.

NAT was fine when I first started but switched to strict after a couple matches. I already ported every port being used by the game and uplay, but nothing helps. Anyone have any suggestions?

This game needs to be 60 fps on ps4... I don't care if they have to make it a low-res, blurry, muddy-textured mess. The controls are not responsive enough as is. I swear 10% of the inputs don't register.

So couple more questions about blocking in general - is it hold a direction to block, or is it more of a quick tap to block just before the hit connects? I think I might be trying to parry everything and that's why my blocking is so unsuccessful most of the time.
Also, blocking heavy attacks - is it worth it? or should I try evading instead?

Must have played this game over 100 times and just had my best Domionion game to date. Was Awesome. Glad to see so many good players already

went in with no expectations at all, ended up playing it for 4 hours straight with some friends. incredible fun. Dynasty warriors meets Bushido Blade.

for what its worth, ps4, no framerate problems or stuff, but the last match i played lagged so bad it went up till 1fps, prolly mp related , played fine after that again..

May be a game related issue in general. I was watching a PC streamer for a few hours who complained about inputs not registering for about 10% of the time lol.

Very likely that it's the frame rate though.

Definitely buying it after this. I'm mostly looking forward to the campaign. The combat feels great and that's all I really wanted to know.

Same on Xbox One, but I assume performance optimization will still come. This must be a pretty old build and the game is like still half a year off.

you do lose stats and only gain one, as the items go up in ranking though.

at least that's how it was. also they don't really change a lot.
At the moment the only stats I loose is the one from the previously equiped item if I had one. Every first loot has been an improvement ( attack, defence, respawn speed, etc.. ).

Hard call on how much it change since we don't have any numerical value. But it's either so small that there is no reason to even put it. Or big enough that.... well it shouldn't be there for balance purpose.

Game is very impressive. The animations and controls are very nice, as are the graphics. But I am not getting a hang of the combat and there are some things I think are problematic that I hope they will change:

- What we have available in the Alpha isn't a lot of customization. I hope there will be countless ways to customize your character. I didn't see any ways to remove your Helmet. I saw skin color and sex change messing around with warden.

- UI is difficult to use on PC. You Blade between the sections with Q and E, and you need to force press Space to signify you understand. The font sizing is way to big, and seems to be made for consoles. The menu system needs a redesign for PC that makes it more intuitive.

- The Hero screen needs to be more accessible and with easier ways to view your hero. I also didn't see a way to name your Hero. I don't want to use my Uplay Log-On ID as my screen name. I want to individually name and customize all the heroes.

- The Bots; The bots are impressive in the sense that they seem to serve their function as cannon fodder and there is a skill element in fighting without locking-on a target. if you roll into a swarm of them, they will kill you from multiple angles. This is not dynasty warriors- However, it is like Dynasty Warriors in that the Bots look completely alike and lack a random differentiation technique. They evoke a sense of being copy pasted.
They need to have random features, look random, use random weapons and armor so they look like a real outfit, because it ruins the immersion. I also don't understand why the Bots have to be so much smaller. I feel like a boss character running around. It looked out of place when playing as female.

- I do not feel Revenge mode is a good substitute for fighting multiple enemies. Being badly damaged rewards you access to revenge mode, but that doesn't remove the frustration about not effectively being able to defend against multiple attackers.

The Ocarina of Time Z-Lock on is way to limiting and this is my biggest problems. I think there needs to be a way where you can hold down a button or toggle a button that puts you into the Guard-Mode and let you block from different directions, but while strafing back and forth and two the sides.
People will feel it is cheap and be frustrated with not being able to win if they wrestle too much with the lock-on.

- On PC I do not think it feels intuitive that the gap closer / stun is set to mouse wheel click. I'm on a sensei mouse from steelseries, but I don't think the mouse is the problem. It's not a good place to put that.

/ I need to spend more time with it. These are just 30 minute impressions from playing 4 player vs AI Bots.

Hold in the direction to block, however things are slightly different for the assassin classes (Orochi, Berserker). They can only block for a limited period

Heavy attacks does some chip damage to blocking, it isn't a lot but when you're down to that millimeter of health it'll kill you.

Damn it, i won a 3 vs 1 situation last night, the new version of shadowplay decided to not work and only saved 7 seconds instead of the normal 5 i have set up... I felt so good after their bodies were lying around me.

It's sad to see that they still haven't done anything to people running away from fights when they are on low hp, they shouldn't be able to sprint away at full speed. The maps are small enough that they can easily get behind a buddy or run around til somebody else shows up and leaving the fights like that feels unsatisfying.

Ah, thanks. I swapped out to Orochi late last night and wondered why blocking didn't work all the time. I'll leave that class until I get the basics down a bit more. Glad it was something stupid that I was doing, as other than a few issues with the controls I do like what I've played so far.
