For Which System Have You Owned the Most Games?

I'd have to say Genesis.

Whenever I wander Microplay, I can't help but pick up one or two $10 games. Unfortunately, the pickings are getting pretty bad over the last year or two...

My collection is probably up to about 30 by now. (However, it is split between 2 houses at the moment. I left all the crappy games at my parent's house)

(This is of course ignoring PC, where the number of games is roughly uncountable)

Wow. That's what I'm talking about. Namcot?
I don't know the full story behind it, but Namco released a lot of old home games under the name "Namcot" back in the day. Don't worry, though, it's not a bootleg.

Pc, who loves you baby...

It kinda feels like any steady gamer over a certain secret age gotta say pc. Now prove me wrong gaf! I know you want to.

*disclaimer: drunken post, 3:11 am local time, yeah I struck bubciss*

PC, it's the platform of accumulation. How many? Don't know, all I know is I have more games for it than any single console I own. It's amazing the deals you find on older quality PC games.

Well, I thought we weren't counting PC here, because that really should win for almost every person.

I probably have around 60 or so PC games, which is double what I have on any console.

PC, by a huge margin. Until summer 2005 I had more PC games than games for all consoles combined by sizable margin, but as in the last year and a half I have bought a lot of older console games, the console total is now higher...

(not counting games I sold or lost)
PC (Windows and DOS titles combined -- actual boxed titles only, not freeware stuff... excepting Guild Wars: Factions, which I got through paid download.) - 249
Console combined - 329
GB - 27
GBC - 14 (though one of those doesn't work)
N64 - 60
GC - 48
GBA - 24
SNES - 55
PSone - 42
Genesis - 48
Sega CD - 5
Nintendo DS - 6

... it's easy to keep track of the totals when I have a complete list of them on my IGN lists page...

PC easily. I think I have well over 200. The PS2 comes in a distant second at about 100 games.

It's cool to know I'm not the only person who has a disproportionate amount of PC games.

Yeah, PC is probably best left out. It covers so many years and such a widespread of prices it's unfair to compare, imo.

SNES, probably aorund 70 games. Mainly because one day my Dad came home with a box full of SNES games. At the time I figured it was because I was so awesome he went out and bought a bunch...but in retrospect...

PC. I currently own 54 PC games from over the years, as I don't resell them.

Second place is X360 with 11.

Third place is DS with 10 (!!!).

Actually, I was about 11-12 when the NES came out. Also, the vast majority of my NES collection was bought within the past 5-10 years, when I decided to see if I could catch 'em all.

how many is that?

I have 222 NES carts... :)

I also have a rare(atleast it seems rare) 83 in 1 SuperVision cart..

Mine should be PS2, but I haven't had enough time to buy that many titles for it yet. I only got it last spring. I still have a lot of games to pick up for it. I have most of the newer stuff, but I need to go through and get games like Sly Cooper, God of War, Final Fantasy 10, all of Atlus' games, and more.

The Gamecube, I'm just finishing up the line-up, I think I need Pikmin 2, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords, and Fire Emblem. I've been waiting for these to fall in price, and they just did, so I should pick them up soon.

The DS will be ever expanding. The GBA I'm going back through, and picking up some of the good stuff. I just got Yggdra Union, and I'm playing through that. I also want Final Fantasy 3/6 and both of the Fire Emblems still.

Gamecube: 29
DS: 17
PS2: 13
N64: 9
SNES: 8
GBA: 5
PS1: 5
Wii: 4 (Including Wii Sports)

PC: Over 60 or so, including games I have bought multiple times.

57 on Gamecube, 34 on Xbox and 21 on PS2.

360 is winning this generation with 7 so far. I decided to slow down significantly this gen owing my ridiculous backlog which is probably 3/4 of my games. :\

not counting PC (for obvious reasons), its actually N64 for me, I had a ton of japan-only N64 games. I've sold most of my collection though.

i haven't made a recent count but probably PS1 now for games i currently own.

I'm more of a console collector then game collector(exept NES).. dunno why..

NES:222
SNES:20
Virtual Boy:10
GB:5
GBC:10
GBA:11
DS:8
N64:8
NGC:15
Wii:2 - not including VC
DC:6
Saturn:21
GameGear:10
Pico:2
X360:10 - not including XBLA
Xbox:18
PSX:52
PS2:12
PSP:3
MasterSystem:30
CD-I:10
3DO:10
Atari 2600:10
Atari Linx:10
Sega CD:15
Genesis:20
TG16:20
TGCD:10
Commodore 64:85

Atari.

I hung onto that thing for a good 15 years. By the time we got rid of it I must have collected at least a 100 games.

How many games have I owned period for a system, or at one time?

If it's how many games I've owned for a system (whether they were sold or given away), it would probably be NES, SNES, or GBA.

If it's how many games I have, then GBA, definitely.

Eventually, I would love to be able to afford to splurge on a bunch of DS games. I'm missing a lot of the good games:

Mario Kart DS
Super Princess Peach
Brain Age
Final Fantasy III
Lost in Blue

And others.

Honestly how is this possible? There are probably no more than 25-30 AAA DS games. Do you like B quality or lower games?

B for broken or T for toilet quality games can be AAA games to some people! For example I like Bubble Bobble Revolution oh shi

PS2- 50 plus
XBOX- 40 plus
PS1-30 plus
NES- around 25
SNES- around 25
XBOX 360- about 20
Nomad (Yes Nomad, never had a Genesis)- about 20
Gamecube- about 15
Gameboy- about 10
N64- about 10
Game Boy Advance- 7
Ds-5
PSP-3

34 - GCN [will end at 35]
25 - DS

DS will most likely be the number one in one or two years.

Gamecube definitely. I have well over 50, and I've play through every one except Baten Kaitos Origins, which I have yet to open.

I really wish that in such a thread people would stop posting system wars comment like that.
