Don Mattrick joins the company as senior vp business operations ahead of the planned launch of the PlayStation 5 console this holiday season.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has tapped former Microsoft exec Don Mattrick to oversee the company's global business operations. Mattricks' new role — senior vp, business operations — is effective immediately. he will report to SIE president and CEO, Jim Ryan.

Ohhhh man. Why do execs get duped into hiring this guy? Like, I'm honestly super impressed by his ability to fail up, but wow.

This makes total sense for SIE.

Sony already had Phil Harrisson ruining the PS3, so maybe now they need Don Mattrick to ruin the PS5 to complete the circle and lift a deadly curse.
