I haven't been and wont be home to try if for a while, but catching up with the news. Seems like Tilted survived but Dusty was demolished by the comet. Battlepass remains 100 ties I believe as well. Can't wait to jump in.

Gotta admit that paying for early access has been extremely tempting and is even more so now. Damn I wish they would give us an ETA on that. Really want to try it but afraid of paying $60 to find out free in a week or a month. I know I could pay $40, but $60 comes with additional license(s) and kids would kill me if I got it only for myself.

Played a little before work this morning. Liked the map update, skins this season are kinda lame expected some better ones.

Played a bit last night. Dreadful stats because I was primarily focused on getting the challenges done. Finished all weekly except for sniper damage so far.

Really digging the new map changes. They made the right choice cratering dusty instead of tilted. Dusty has a lot more going on and lots of people love the early action at tilted. Also glad they vaulted crossbow. The map used to be littered with them because they just were not very effective. And the new long term challenges are nice. Can't really money hat season level and completing all weekly challenges.

The new character skins are bad but I like some of the dances and tools.

I saw that article referenced on other sites. The media is so pathetic always looking to outrage people. Putting aside that the parents are at fault for letting their kids get to that point, the fact remains that Fortnite business model is basically the best case scenario for consumers. Absolutely free with no competitive advantage for spending money. Yet people still complain.

The links won't work on my work network for some odd reason (as this is technically a college university network, so I am not sure why it wouldn't allow access). I haven't played for a while, but I remember getting tired at the random bullet drops/spread. Has this been fixed? Even tap shooting didn't help much last I played.

There still is really random bloom but they made it if your sitting still your 1st shot is 100% accurate (if you can aim) so getting the drop on someone is almost always game over now.

That is good to hear. I may have to hop in and try out this season. Thanks!

wow is fortnite that dangerous ?
i will be sure to ban that vile piece of satan software near my kids

Hm. I may need to just play this with people instead of going solo. Just getting frustrated by the bloom and the RNG. Four times in a row I reach an area only to get the bad chest while someone else gets one with a blue or legendary gun with shield. Blargh.

Do you remember when Ninja Turtles were too violent so they didn't use their weapons in the second movie? Amusing in hindsight to today's movies.

I'll agree Fortnites model is a best-case, agree it's the parents fault and agree Epic holds no responsibility to kids who get addicted to games...
That said I'll also say it's crazy how many tables a week at my restaurant have kids who won't put down the phone and stop playing Fortnite.

jaded - I never heard or realized that before reading your post. Can't say I am shocked though. I still remember when saved by the bell wanted to do a drugs are bad episode and settled on something weird like a caffeine addiction or something similar.

Back to the main topic, so this is only my second battle pass. The first was 3 and I got it about 30-40% into the season give or take. The competition was tough, but I feel like the current active users are far better than the competition when I first started. Guessing its because I am on the same schedule as them now, compared to before when I had several weeks of challenges to work on at once and the best players had probably moved onto just the active week challenges. Still loving it, but damn there are some really good players that are ridiculously tough to beat.

Holy Crap. That's one hell of a tease. A little more info would be appreciated. Guessing this will just be cool skins, but if they bring a hoard mode to battle royale the internet will break.

wut this is probably not gonna be good. If one company comes in with this then there's gonna be 100 more.

Not talking about the update, that looks cool. I'm talking crossovers. I can see 100 of different Fortnite X Put franchise here.

I wouldn't worry yet. Others will surely try to copy them, but very few have proven themselves capable of updating their game as often as these guys. And those with the resources generally seem incapable of monetizing their games in this manner (without making it pay to win or even pay to play in the beginning). Based on such, I would expect those who try copying it will not see the desired results sufficiently to go crazy.

Why does epic make it so when you jump multiple times in a row your body acts as if you're wearing concrete shoes? Similar to the effect you feel trying to jump in Loot Lake.

I die to this so many times trying to run/jump up a hill to get away from someone shooting at me that wouldn't otherwise hit me if it weren't for the game forcing me to be a sitting duck :/

Will definitely be giving #teamthanos mode a spin.

Blam Blam Fortnite has limited time silly modes as secondary options and they're usually less interesting than this sounds. They've done a good job so far, keeping things fresh and improving rapidly, so I don't think there's much to worry about here. They're making bank from the cosmetics shop anyhow, and usually cosmetics-only f2p games don't turn evil.

Yeah I get that, but still once they see money come from this where does it end? Case and point "Puzzles & Dragons"

We can't dwell in "what if" scenarios, we have to give those doing good the benefit of the doubt. Fortnite has done an amazing job so far and rightfully earnt $30 from me, and if a Switch version materializes at least another $30.

Waiting in line this morning I saw a report that one person is Thanos at a time, based on picking something up at the beginning or when he is killed. Not sure how accurate, but can't wait to try it out regardless. Unfortunately I am probably 10 hours out. Sad face.
