i think i like PGR3 more. and there is no need to mention another title too. but i think the cars in PGR3 has more.... weight on it [ like extra texture etc ]

I'm sorry, but this looks like ass. Motion blur and all, fine, but the car looks like a piece of plastic. I'm sure it will look good in motion or whatever, but some of these Forza 2 shots are just pathetic.

weren't the rims supposed to be fully modeled?

How can you tell if these are modeled or not? They're strobing and becoming transparent because of rotational speed.

Che?

Also, just for laughs, can we try our hardest to not let a Forza thread turn into a trollfest?

the cars have definately improved from what they've shown before (duh lol). They've got some time to remove the plastic look and shit but it does look much better than before

It's such a cliche to say it but the lighting isn't where it should be. But I remember che saying they were stilll implementing things so that the lighting would eventually look much more realistic than it does now

Doing my best, sir. I usually don't post in F2 threads. I stick to the Halo 3 ones :)

That first Porsche picture look stunning to me and no it doesn't look like plastic, although I know Che was say that lighting has still to added or modified or what ever it is they do.

The minor details in the cars seem to be pretty lacking. How that will translate to the game looking in motion I don't know, but I'm rather disappointed with these screens.

Maybe I am crazy, but those look much better than the previous ones. And hooray for round wheel arches.

You're not crazy, because I thought the very same. These shots look great.

But guys! can't you see the lighting just isn't there yet? the car models are obviously placeholders too!

The cars look great, the trees look pretty good. The rest is hard to tell with the blur and everything. The drivers helmet sure looks awkward with the highly detailed car surrounding it. I cannot wait for the game, but the cars themselves are the only thing visually that is really impressing me right now.

Some of you are so hard to please

Nice!

Ugh.

Don't hate on the 914/6s!

They're an amazing club racer car IRL, cheap, easy to upgrade to powerful specs, handles great and can hold their own because of that. Especially given that's what FM2 is about.

I don't like what the 914 looks like, and it's a bastard of a car for the Porsche brand, but it's still a solid club racer.

It looks nice, very clean visual. However, it doesn't look "photorealistic". If Forza2 team is aiming for that, it's too bad. If not, then, no reason to complain.

great list of exotics, something GT could borrow. but the screenshots remind me of NFS hot pursuit 2, in full res for PC...

maybe the ordinary graphics can be explained by...

real damage? not that cosmetic sh*t that most games have, where the chassis of ar is still undestructible. if they have 60fps, and a very good damage system, then i think those graphics can pass...

To say those pics are "looking like ass" and "pathetic" should be banable in this thread. Those are great graphics. You are the pathetic ones (and elitist).
GTR and PGR3 cars were amongst the best looking outside of Gran Turismo and Forza obviously match that quality.

Polyphony are still the undisputed kings at car modeling and particularly lighting though. Forza 2 cars simply doesn't look as good as those GTHD cars.

I think photorealism is a very hard aesthetic to achieve. Everything looks great, but its just solely lacking in various departments.

Lighting is everything.

Anyone else find it amusing at how photorealistic the cars and environment look, but then you can pretty much count the polygons on the driver's helmet?

Why do we constantly get PR bullshots or photomode shots or whatever? I don't care if the real shots don't have 16x AA. Show 'em to me anyway. Everyone does this for every goddamn racing game and it's just dumb.

A helmet texture other then "boring white" would have not gone a miss.

Its not just the lighting though, its the high contrast colors in the trees and the boxy environment.

ok so you can point out faults but i cant? why would anyone get banned? i just dont understand why the forza team cant get the 360 to do what polyphony was doing art wise back on the ps2. the system is god knows how much more powerful and they still cant get their "realistic" racer to look well..real. its not trolling its an observation.

Looks great to me. Forza in HD at a decent framerate is all I am looking for. It's time for us to see it in motion - we need an HD movie che!
