Regardless of the shitty cover, we still don't know what this game actually is.
Obviously, they are not going to show you what the game is all about through one screenshot. They are teasing and hyping and relying on that for speculation on our part.
Anyway, I noticed the head lights are lit on the viper. There's a dance music festival going on in the background and the Viper is on an open road presumably having left that said event....no idea.

I expected some people to say the game will suck based on a cover and a single screen, and they sure as hell didn't disappoint.

Source is dubious, I'm afraid. Somebody posting on Forzaplanet forums, claiming to be an ex Bizarre Creations employee somehow linked to the project.

But if it's gonna be TDU2 inspired game it would kinda make sense, somewhere exotic where you can gamble, etc.

Well, why not do away with the cover altogether, in that case?

A cover is supposed to draw you in to play the game in the first place.

The cover can also tell you what audience they're gunning for, or the overall style the game may have. We have seen a real live action vid promoting the game, and no in-game footage - this cover would furthur suggest a game that's going to be considerably less serious than Forza games have been, and will be about flaunting 'mad skillz' in front of a crowd that's out there to have a good time. The pink logo is reminiscent of neon lights lighting up night-time bars.

It is not irrelevant at all.

1000 times better. The Logo is the brand. If the logo is a joke, it's hard to take the game seriously. People will look at it and think "low quality", even if the games reviews are stellar.

Edit: I'm speaking of poeple who are not knowledgeable about the game. Covers/Logos/Box art does help sell a product.

Well, new logo sucks.

I'm not really impressed with the graphics which is crazy as I liked Forza 4's graphics.

Also they need to change the FM logo already. It fit Forza 3 but using it beyond that is just stupid now.

If there's any truth to folks from Bizarre Creations and the Pure/Split Second devs being at the studio behind it, Forza Horizon might land itself on my radar. Both groups knew a thing or two about making a fast, fun and pretty racing game.

If its open world forza-esque physics with decent car/road/conditions variety there's no way I can stay away from this.

Unless they pull another TDU2 and spend more time and effort on the dance parties and custom t-shirts than the physics and roads.

Agreed, I see nothing wrong with the logo. It grabs attention and nobody will confuse if with either Forza Motorsport or any other racing game already out there.

They could've chosen a better car for the cover, though.

Drive to different racing events such as drift,drag,circuit..etc.

also, "burning man" like festivals in the desert seems to fit too. i like on the cover that we get a glimpse of desert, snow capped mountains, festival, forest, and long winding roads. i'm actually hopeful for this title.

Rumor has it that the deal isn't just for the Porsche Expansion Pack. Wait, now that I think about it, Playground Games isn't first party IIRC so it might end up like PGR 3 and 4 and not feature any Porsche.
I guess we'll find out in the coming months.

If the deal extends to Forza 5, I'll be happy.

If it doesn't extend to Horizon, I may be okay with it as long as Horizon has a more expansive selection of RUF vehicles than Forza 4.

TDU was a gem? sure it was kind of fun for a while to drive around with your buddies but the physics were terribad and the game got boring real fast, TDU2 was even worse

I also liked Midnight Club LA.. Like a hollywood action movie, it's nice to suspend any sense of reality and just go with the flow!.. When you have some intense 'arcade' point to point racing in a supercar dodging traffic in a 'living' city, I don't mind it..

It's when games pretend to be 'sim' but put too much artistic licence into it that my brain can't handle it, e.g. NSF Shift..

The very nature and purpose of an logo or image is the immediate reaction. Excpet for the Fedex arrow. I never recovered from seeing that for the first time.
