Founders Packs. Ever bought any? How did go?

In league of legends season 1 a found a french store on ebay selling retail copy. Regret it, cdkey is now worth hundreds since that exclusive skin is on it.

Yeah I was in the LoL beta and was the crazy dude who preordered and bought both the Digital and the Retail versions for the skins, so my account has Goth Annie, Black Allistar, Silver Kayle, and Human Ryze. I still get people messaging me on reddit and other places from time to time asking to buy my account.

I did it for Battlerite. I like the game a lot, so I'd say it was worth it. Game's gonna go F2P eventually and by buying it I get all the characters so it worked out.

I considered it for Hellgate London because ya know, makers of Diablo and it's an fps, I am craving loot driven fps game, blahblah. That ship sunk fast. So glad, the other game I was interested in was EQ next because I was a huge EQ fan back since launch in 1999 and that went away. Basically, never will I do it and I think it's a dumb thing to do.

I bought the $200 Marvel Heroes founders pack years ago and thought it was well worth the price. People are still jealous of my animated symbiote spider-man.

I did the same and was generally happy with it although I am a bit bummed that our unlocks from those founder packs are not carried over to the console release...

Paid $100 for the Everquest Next/Landmark founders pack in 2013, since I loved EQ1 so much (one of my top 5 most favorite games ever). Turned out to be a mistake since there wound up being like no updates on the progress of EQ Next over that time and it wound up getting quietly cancelled in 2016.

Lesson learned; I'll never do that again.

Did the same. Was tempted to buy into Dauntless recently, but I still feel burned by Landmark.

Bought founders pack for Paladins, no regrets. I already had all the characters unlocked, but I got it just to support the devs, great game. And they've since released about 8 new characters which I get for free, totally worth it.

All things considered, this was probably one of the best Founder's packs. Aside from the really good value, it led to the game being greatly improved in that first year.

I went in on Warframe. I decided to go in on the mid tier one, nothing too crazy. I've kinda dropped the game now, but I'm pretty sure I still have a ton of left over currency because I was stingy as hell.

Yes, for Firefall.

It went bad

Holy shit you just reminded me of that game, I almost bought a founder's pack for that.

I guess I've bought quite a few early access games if that counts. I've had pretty good luck with those, can't think of anything that I regret.

I was very tempted to do Everquest Next founders but didn't. So happy I made that choice.

I'm also tempted to do a Dauntless founders pack but I think I'll wait

Everquest....

.....

😡.....

I wanna get in on that Dauntless tho 👀

lol This is the one that kind of inspired the thread. I'd never done it before but I went for the top tier for Dauntless. It's so damn early I'm surprised i did it but the game looks great and the packages are full of things I actually want. We'll see how it goes.

Bought MWO's Veteran (lowest, $30) Founder's Pack back when the game entered "beta"-stage. Sure was the longest fucking beta... I mean, they only just overhauled the skill trees, something that has been under work for who knows how long.

Despite still playing MWO, i will never again buy a Founder's pack of any kind. Just not worth it.

Also a backer for BattleTech on Kickstarter, which is kinda comparable to being a Founder. But BattleTech is at least made by dev with history of delivered products and reasonably good reviews.

These tend to be very early, very expensive and take a lot of good faith. Have you ever bought one? For what game, how much and any regrets?

Paladins founders pack on xb1 wasnt available until recently and the game appears close to finished (excluding maintaining and supporting it, but if smite is any example, paladins should be alright).

It cost 15 dollars canadian the day it came out. (Pretty sure its 20 dollar now but it was 25% off when it came out from what i remember).

Had logged over 3-5 days of gametine prior to buying the founders pack and at 7ish total days now acyer having bought.

Also i got minecrafts founders pack thingy (dont think it was actually called a founders pack but it was the same concept) for 5 bucks back in the day before it broke a million sales. Games still getting support and the 5 dollar investment has since gotten me a free windows 10 copy and i think some other bonuses im not remembering right now...

So far ive had relatively positive experiences with founders packs for games.

I wish the warframe founder's was available on ps4, I'd buy that right now.

I normally don't regret any founder packs I got for games that I don't play anymore, as long as it had a low entry fee ($10 or so). I can't think of any that I spend more than that on.

I've got the Founders thing for Lord of the Rings online with lifetime subscription when it launched and still play it every once in a while. Was getting my worth back very fast, when I played it on a regular basis.

That said, I'll probably play it right now, now that I talked of it :D
