The lady who recorded that isn't much smarter.

And the dudes who drove in the wrong way. What the hell were they thinking? Driving so fast too. Fucking humanity sometimes. Makes me fucking angry.

Nah, the 4 dudes were driving the right way in a Sonata, it was the lone idiot in the Explorer going the opposite direction that ended their lives sadly.

Wow crazy stuff rip.

Had a person come at me going wrong way on off ramp driving on highway before. Heart froze that night. Crazy and sad stuff what the hell happened?

I lost my best friend 6.5 years ago when a drunk driver entered the highway on the wrong side and crashed head onto their car. They were also 4 people in a Sedan, all 4 died.

This is so similar to that. Only, in that one the other driver survived.

I fully support jail for people who drink and drive.

So sad.

before we get to self driving cars (which are farther off than people think) there's still a lot we can do. I was reading about the Obama administration mandating tech that allowed cars to 'talk to other cars' for example, it'd break if you got to close to another, warn you about upcoming dangers, etc. I'd imagine they could do stuff with highways to prevent people from going the wrong way too.

Its so messed up that another person because of their actions can take 4 students life in such a way. Such a tragedy.

I don't understand drunk driving but it seems to be something that comes with the suburban sprawl. I've known so many people that have no access to public transportation do stupid things because they 'need to get home' especially younger people. Some people from my high school way back were killed in an accident because of a drunk driver.

This is so horrible, but that goes without saying.

I am constantly amazed that this doesn't happen more often though. The thought crosses my mind almost every time I'm behind the wheel. We, as a people, put a hell of a lot of trust in one another to even be driving on the roads in the first place. Thank God there aren't more crazy people or idiot drunks or whatever on the road than there are already.

Same thing happened near my area this morning:

6 die in multi-car crash on S. California freeway

It turns out that a friend of mine was close with the family in the Camaro. She's pretty devastated right now :(

I was almost a victim of one of these.

In 2006 a friend and I were driving home. We were on the Beltway here in the DC area. I was doing about 60-65, and a car passed me so fast that we figured he must have been doing at least 90. We joked about him crashing or getting pulled over.

About 10 mins later, down a dark stretch of the highway, I saw what looked like a single headlight in front of me. I kept looking and asked my friend what the fuck I was seeing. A moment later, we realized it was a car with one headlight. I swerved hard to avoid it and almost hit a tree on the side of the road. We looked at each other going "holy shit" and realized it was the car that had passed us earlier.

The guy had crashed, spun out, and I guess didn't realize which way he was going. We looked for the car but he had kept on going.

Next morning I read in the paper that he had crashed into a Ford Explorer head on. Both cars burst into flames and he and the girl he hit died. It was found out later that he had come from a party and was drunk as shit.

Crazy.

The Florida Highway Patrol on Tuesday identified the Expedition driver as Daniel Lee Morris, 28, of St. Clair Shores. He had recently moved to Tampa Bay, Fla. and had been living with a friend.

The Tampa Bay Times said Morris had borrowed the SUV from Scott Enfinger, 27. Morris had been staying with Enfinger since he moved to Florida.

WTPS-TV (Channel 10) in Tampa, citing unnamed sources, said Morris had taken the SUV from Enfinger’s house during a party early Sunday.

The station reported Morris’ significant other called police and told them he was emotionally distressed and possibly on a mission to take his own life.

State troopers told reporters a cellphone video taken by other drivers leading up to the crash showed the SUV was speeding in a straight line in the center lane of oncoming traffic on Interstate 275 and never tried to avoid hitting other motorists.

Investigators are trying to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

That Ford driver has a special place in hell waiting for him.

This is why I would 100% support a ban on alcohol.

edit: If he was drunk that is.

Doesn't matter, there are tons of idiots out there driving and they ruin it for everyone else.

That is because getting your license is easy. It is probably one of the easiest things to get.

People should learn how to use what ever they are using. Even for self driving cars, the driver should know how to properly operate the vehicle.

Well we all pretty much knew it was going to be drunk driving or suicidal driving. Either way an asshole, and this just about confirms it.
