Greg Gutfeld: I'm Opening Gay Bar Next To Mosque

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld has an interesting response to the Ground Zero mosque: he's opening a gay bar nearby.

The "RedEye" host wrote on his blog Monday that he's "planning to build and open the first gay bar that caters not only to the west, but also Islamic gay men."

"As an American, I believe they have every right to build the mosque - after all, if they buy the land and they follow the law - who can stop them?" he wrote. "Which is, why, in the spirit of outreach, I've decided to do the same thing."

Gutfeld insists "this is not a joke," and is soliciting investors for the project, which he says will occupy an "available commercial space" next to the planned mosque.

"As you know, the Muslim faith doesn't look kindly upon homosexuality, which is why I'm building this bar. It is an effort to break down barriers and reduce deadly homophobia in the Islamic world," he wrote, adding that he'll have an entire Islam-friendly floor that serves non-alcoholic drinks.

HotAir reports that Gutfeld is "quite serious."

That'll show them. . .? I guess?

He's probably always dreamed of opening a Gay Bar and now finally has the opportunity since this will be viewed as trolling.

Cool, is it weird that a part of me (even though I've spent the last few days defending this Community center w/ a mosque in it) really wants to see Muslims throw down against some gay people? I guess I romanticizing it in my head, but in my head it involves a dance off.

Reminds me of the South Park 300 episode where it was Lesbians vs. Persians.

I guess we should let capitalism go unburdened here. All that money spent on construction, employees, and amenities will sure show them when it closes down!

Wow @ FOX News playing "Which do I hate more?"

It's like a vegetarian eating a steak just to spite vegans. (Hint: the vegetarian secretly has a taste for steak.)

Because I'm sure many homosexuals will frequent a bar run by gay-hating conservatives to be used as pawns against Muslims.

I'd love to see investor money roll in and the bar completely bomb.

Figured I add this, Gutfeld was looking for a response from the Mosque Organizers. Well, he apparently just got one:

.@greggutfeld You're free to open whatever you like. If you won't consider the sensibilities of Muslims, you're not going to build dialog

:lol :lol

Let's create a circle of tolerance over there. Jewish, Christian, and Transgender entities bring it! Also let's have an Atheist center and Satan's corner.

I can't say that I'm too thrilled with someone using Gays as some kind of counter attack. I'm not gay but if I were, I'd imagine something like this would be incredibly offensive.

How is a Mosque in New York City trolling? It's not even that close to ground zero if you check the plans.

Hence the question mark, since I really haven't kept up with it. :D

But I have to say, epic trolling on Gutfeld's part.

As a gay man I don't particularly appreciate this pit-one-minority-against-the-other bullshit.
It's almost akin to colonialists used to 'divide and conquer' a population by pitting one ethnic group/sect against the other.

This is bound to fail, but it's quite amazing to watch how stupider conservatives get over this community center.

We can put a barrier around it, connect some electric wires and power three states for 163 years.

We could run cities off of pure hate. :O

I see a lot of Republicans coming out to support this movement. There will be many a middle-aged politicians driving their 18 year old nephews to this club.

Yeah, seriously. I'm muslim and have no problems at all with a gay bar near a mosque, but creating it in response to a completely innocent multi-faith cultural centre being created because of some stupid bigotry should not be treated with respect.

So it is catering to some republican interests! We should have guessed.
