hey this isn't a bump for a quality version of the CCI video, but I'm still excited for the show :D

Dude.
Fuuuuuuuuuuck.

That tiny shaky cam footage was amazing.

Honestly, it kind of sounds you have no idea what you're talking about. Mad Men and BB do great for AMC, where expectations are much, much lower than broadcast cable.

Also, I'm pretty sure AMC shows do pretty well on the DVD market. The show will be fine, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it turned out being a premiere ratings hit for them.
It also needs to be noted that cable channels can deal with lower ratings since they don't solely rely on advertising, but also fees to be carried by cable providers.

So this is pretty much one of the only comics/graphic novels I've enjoyed in the past decade, and somehow I only just now found out about this.

How fucking amazing.

Hyped.

Just bought the omnibus - which I've not read - so I'm doing things back-to-front, but god damn. That trailer is so good.

Just watched the panel highlights. Big international rollout for this - AMC Original programming is partnering with Fox, and the series is launching in 250 million households, 120 countries, and over 30 languages almost simultaneously in October.

Does that mean more people will be able to watch AMC because of this partnership?

I had a terrible thought the other night, mostly due to the degree the staff are stretching the story arcs out into seasons. The events contained in the typical TWD tpb are set to be 2 seasons per 1 tpb if volume 1 being S1 and S2 are any indication.

If we are at 12 volumes now, how is it possible that this show will run for 24 seasons? I don't see it happening. Unless certain events from the comic are retooled or completely cut from the show's main storyline, this show cannot expect to properly follow/conclude the comic's story.

Just a little food for thought. I know we're all enthusiastic as hell here, but I'm already seeing disappointment unless this show absolutely explodes.

Yeah, it'd be a real shame if the most senselessly grim and languorous ongoing storyline ever published in comics had to trim the fat a little.

:lol

Does AMC HD exist anywhere? Time Warner's AMC HD just broadcasts a blank screen all day.
NYC? My parents have a few blanked out HD channels.

AMC HD works for me on TWC Queens. You might need a new box, although the service just sucking ass is a strong possibility. My HD channels were unwatchable for 3 weeks because of sound and video skipping (~50 times per hour).

It is not going to follow the comic book storyline beat-for-beat, they've said this over and over. It will follow Kirkman's overall "path" but diverge and make changes where they think it will serve the medium better. Things will be different.

Just watched the trailer. Looks good. The only way I don't watch this show is if it is completely awful. Directv better get their shit together by October.
