Man, I love Lizzy Caplan.

No Shia LeBouf?

He's fucking on film for Lars Von Trier, so I guess he doesn't have time for this.

My favorite scene in the show is from "Tests and Breasts" at the very end, where Daniel delivers this long speech about how he was labeled dumb as a child, and how he's struggled with his own self-esteem ever since, all the while holding back tears.

And then Lindsay just loses her shit and cracks up because it's the exact same speech he told her earlier in the episode, and she knows he's totally full of shit.

What makes the scene awesome on another level is realizing that Mr Kowcheski is in love/lust with him.

"Those bedroom eyes."

Haha, that's right, wasn't he supposed to be outted at some point, but they just never got around to it?

Awesome that they were able to get essentially everyone back together for this. Shows that they really had something special, a shame it was so underappreciated at the time. It's infinitely rewatchable, too. Glad it's on Netflix.

The poster girl of full-ass grown adults playing teenagers in TV.

She was like 25 during filming. Jason Seigel was actually still a teenager.

I dont know about you all, but when I was 19, having any kind of contact with a 25 year old woman as hot as Linda Cardelini would have made my dick explode into scraps.
Yeah, which is sort of funny in hindsight. Her character is defined by being more mature and self-aware than the other freaks/geeks. That the actress was simply much older than most of the rest of the cast kind of seems like cheating.

Awww, everyone is so adorable. I love this show, and cast, forever.

I saw James Franco in the San Fran airport the other year and solemnly nodded at him. He smiled : )

Given the big dick swinging Apatow can do these days, I'm surprised the reunion is simply photos.

I would love to see a 6-part mini series, 10 years later in 1990. They could totally pull it off.

This could be the Star Trek Phase II of our time.

Or not.

I would settle for some books, personally. They could do one for every year. It would be amazing.

I can not believe how good looking Linda Cardellini is.

She looks like she was carved out of a piece of soap. Perfect.

Holy bananas. I am in love.

Practicality more than cheating. The Lindsay character was head and shoulders above everyone else in terms of maturity, intelligence and to small extent, life experience (the experience that marks her acting out is the death of her grandmother).

So, it made sense to cast someone who was a little older, who could bring more to that performance.

She really, REALLY nailed it too.

She was the smart ape in a cage of animals like in Planet of the Apes (bad example, I know, but it has Franco in it so its cool).

Millie > Cindy Sanders

You marry Millie, but Cindy's that girl who blew you on the back-deck at a Hard Rock Casino. Yeah, sure, she's married and has kids now, but whenever you see her at the grocery store, she always bites her lip in that way that tells you, "I remember."

Sorry, I think I might be projecting my own shit onto this...

Millie has a jaw line that would make Jay Leno blush.

Haha, that's right, wasn't he supposed to be outted at some point, but they just never got around to it?
Yeah I just read that in the Vanity Fair article. Never thought of "bedroom eyes" as foreshadowing, but that makes sense.

I haven't watched this show in around... 5 years? I need to rewatch it all over again. I've forgotten so many little details.

Yeah, I agree. I don't really know what point I was trying to make with my initial post. Her performance was great, but knowing about the age gap does alter my perception of it. The scenes between here and Jason Segel kind of take on a different tone.

Martin Starr in the center where he deserves to be. Judd Apatow needs to have him as the lead in one of his movies so he can break out. Then do the same for Linda Cardellini.

How many cult shows is Martin Starr gonna have to kill it on before he at least gets a movie lead like Jay Baruchel?

Christ, did he kill it on Party Down. Everybody's so good on there, but him and that blond dude from Veronica Mars are perfect on that show. Especially when they interact.

Unrelated: How is it that Apatow got the reputation of not presenting women well in his work when there was LINDSAY FUCKING WEIR?

Well, Apatow wasn't the only dude responsible for FaG (oh, so that's why no one abbreviates it).

Maybe Paul Feig and the host of female writers had a say.

Holy shit! How did they manage to get all those people in one room? The scheduling must have been monstrous...

Linda Cardellini and John Francis Daley
Daley: “Linda and I spent a lot of time between scenes giving each other a hard time. I probably had a bit of a crush on her, too, which you don’t want to hear when we’re playing brother and sister. But it’s hard not to have a crush on her.”

God damn this show was so good. Almost felt depressed after I watched the last episode. It's just so great to see pics like these and that one reunion at paleyfest. And yes, it's hard to not have a crush on Linda.

In that thread that bashed Apatow a week or so ago I mentioned that I enjoy everything with Paul Feig doing heavy lifting, but not the films Apatow directed so much. But he hasn't done enough films by himself to really put that accusation on him. Undeclared has great female characters as well. And while she's not the main show, Katherine Keener's character in The 40 Year Old Virgin is not exactly some kind of misogynist caricature, she's fairly three dimensional.

Well, it's probably just the attention seeking Anna Sarkesians of the world making a mountain out of molehill then.
