I just entered my Doom 3 CD key in the product activation field for Steam and it gave me a free copy of Prey.

I just tested it with my copies of Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil, and no go. It rejects both as invalid keys, actually.

It could have been a freak accident where your Doom 3 key was the same as a Prey cd key. So it thought you were registering Prey through Steam...

But that's incredibly tiny odds.

Someone on IGN, for some reason, got the idea to try this and it worked for him. I tried it as well after reading his post and it worked for me, which made me assume it worked for everyone. Apparently some Doom 3 CD keys are duplicates of Prey CD keys. I feel bad now, even if it is a sub-par game, but I don't think there is a way to unregister it.

You would say that about an average, repetitive FPS. Prey >>>>>>> Doom 3 at least.

You gotta admit though, the first and last hours of the game are brilliant. The boring bit in the middle which consists of most of the game is rather repetitive though.

I really liked Prey, sure it wasn't perfect but no game is.
