Free (or really cheap) 360 games at Target

saw this at CAG..

Just print a bunch of copies of this coupon and check the clearance rack (might be able to get PGR4 for 5 bucks if your target still has it). if the game costs under 10 bucks, make sure you add some gum or soda to bring it over 10 or the coupon won't work.

I picked up Def Jam Icon, Monster Madness and NHL 2K8 today for a total of 5 bucks. I'm definitely checking out some different Targets later this week for some (hopefully) better stuff.

It should be packed in with every new 360 as far as I'm concerned. Not saying it's a bad game at all, just saying it sold horribly, but it's an AAA game that impresses. Why not pack in a game like that, new owners will be happy with their console purchase after playing that game.

PGR4 was released a mere week after Halo 3. That and the Forza 2 delay into 2007 effectively killed it off.

The conspiracy theorist inside me also thinks that relations went sour between Bizarre and MS as well.

How do you guys find out about these Target deals? What's currently on clearance?

Just go check. There's a special clearance rack near electronics and there's usually some in the glass case with the full price games.

there's a list here but you may not find some of these at your store and they could have totally different prices/different stuff:

I'm hoping there's a PS3 coupon soon... would love to pick up the Motorstorm I saw today for 5 bucks instead of 15.

I searched for PGR 4, and I found it in a nearby store under "limited availability". I might go to the store tomorrow, but I only wonder what "limited availability" means specifically, and how often the inventory status is updated. =/ I tried calling the store, but I was redirected to someone who refused to check the inventory.
Also, I'm receiving PGR3 through the mail in a few days from Microsoft as some sort of placation for my 360's failure. Is it worth keeping, or should I sell it in favor of PGR4? From what I've seen and read, PGR 4 seems to basically supplant PGR 3.

yeah, 4 was sent to die at retail. I want to say it did something like 36k (or maybe it was 76k?) its first month. I may be misremembering, but I know it was under 100k, and not nearly up to the standards set by the series previously.

I bought it, but I personally couldn't really get into the game at the time, mostly because of the glut of other great games that came out last fall. It's still in my backlog for now.
 
I have a couple Target stores in my area and they always mark games down and shove them on a back shelf...always check the shelves at the backs of the isles, that's where they push the clearance stuff. I got NHL 2k8 and Naruto (the 360 one) for 15 total.

Mind you, I doubt it would work, since it doesn't say 10 dollars off on it, so it isn't like you couldn't get them to override...
 
This makes me sad, because my Target just got rid of their clearance rack a week or two ago. I used to love that damn thing.

PGR4 is a much better game than the previous three. It's the most impressive and enjoyable racing game I've ever played.

What'd you say to get the cashier to override? :lol I seriously told her I used the coupon yesterday and she just needs to press K1 to accept it...

She was like "Okaaaaaaay, I'm not really supposed to do this but whatever..."

No I just used the coupon I posted in the OP to get 10 bucks off and talked the cashier into overriding it when it says there was "no item for coupon".
 
I got them to accept the coupon on an Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 card. ($9.99) They also had Worms and Texas Hold Em but I already own both of those games.

Going to go back tonight to pick up a few points cards.
 
Hmm, maybe I'll use this coupon to get Forza 2 or PGR4.

CAG says that Forza 2 is $19 and PGR4 is $15 right now at Target, so this could work out nicely.
 
I got it to work on PS3 game. Picked up Tony Hawk (the later game) for 2 dollars. Gonna raid other Targets and see what I can find.

I'd be surprised. From what I saw at the couple of Target stores around me and in posts at CAG they sat when they were marked down to $30, but flew off the shelves when they were further reduced to $16 back in late Feb / early March. I found one copy hidden outside of the clearance section right after they marked them down for the second time.
