Free (or really cheap) 360 games at Target

Hmm, maybe I'll use this coupon to get Forza 2 or PGR4.

CAG says that Forza 2 is $19 and PGR4 is $15 right now at Target, so this could work out nicely.

Prices vary at each store. PGR4 is still $27 in my local stores. I did manage to get a free Virtua Tennis 3 though. :)

Grand Rapids, MI - Alpine Ave. location has Dead or Alive 4 marked at $14, rings up at ~$7.50, free after coupon. 3 or 4 left on clearance rack.

Theres a sale for 1600 points for xbox live for $14.99, I used the $10 off coupon and got it for $4.99 :D, You guys should check your targets and do this.

Sounds like communism to me.

LOL, I couldn't resist the points deal so I went back to Target and got 2 more 1600 points cards :lol , It took 5 minutes for them to check if the coupon was real and if it works, but it was worth it :D. Saved myself $45 :D

i haven't seen any evidence of this sale online - is it at all targets? is it in the newspaper ads?

are you guys bringing a coupon per item or just using 1 coupon for all at once? I gotta try this...

and is the 15$ ms point card thing at all targets? any idea when its till?

I use coupon per item and the 15 thing is at all targets.

Has anyone tried using a coupon printed in black and white?

just did. I don't think color matters.

however:

coupon does not work.

not for me at least, since point cards are not 'Software' so the computer didn't register it when scanned, it said wrong type of item or whatever.

how the hell are you guys getting it to work? the supervisor lady came up and hadn't a clue, then the main lady came and said no because they were not software, and it the coupon has to match itself with the item when scanned. wtf? how did you guys get them to work it?

So what are they saying Points cards are? They sure ain't hardware.

Sometimes the $10 off coupon doesn't work for XBL points so if one guy tells you it doesn't work, go to another person, thats what I did :D

I have no idea, I told them it was software since it was used to buy games on their online store, which sure as hell is software.

all they cared about is that it did not scan into the system, so I'm wondering how you guys got it to go through

so did it just not scan one time? or did they do something special? did they just scan it until it went through?

Tell the cashier to press K1. It'll take the coupon right through.

They just scan it and then press a button on their computer and it goes through, I don't know why one didn't accept it because that was when my bro tried to buy them the first time.

i went to my local target and the coupon did not work on the 1600 point cards. the offer says its for xbox 360 games, you guys must know someone at target who just hooked you up.

guess the people at my target actually value their jobs.

Viva Pinata for $4.26
Can't really lose on that :lol
Yeah I grabbed that the other day along with CoD2 for the same price. Then I went today and picked up Cars and MLB The Bigs for a total of 5 bucks. Fucking love this coupon.

I've probably bought at least 6 / 1600 point cards. For some odd reason they keep handing me back the coupon..

Just bought ten 1600 point cards last night for $5.00 a piece. The Target near me has tons of points cards on the rack. The trick is to take it to the regular registers to someone who doesn't look like they know what's going on and just rationalize that it's a software card instead of a software box, and that K1 pushes it right through.

you guys must all work at target and are pushing your own orders through cause this coupon does not work with the gamecards, i mean c'mon 10 cards they just rung that shit up huh

Anyone have spare/extra LIVE points they wouldn't mind selling for 10 a piece? My Targets have all been raped and pillaged. :(

Do you show up with 10 copies of the coupon or do they let you use the same coupon over and over again?

for the record, the coupon worked without issue with point cards at my target. cashier didn't even bat an eye.

also for the record, my target has point cards for $14.99 this week.

The record states that I am buying a whole shitload of $5.27 point cards today and tomorrow.

edit I see a bunch of targets have them for that price this week... yeah... I'm heading back after work and picking up at least 3-6 more cards. They had a shitload of them on the peg.

Ten different coupons.

Nope, I did it in two separate entries. Bought five along with a steak and asparagus for dinner and then came back and bought five more.

Do transactions with 2-3 cards at a time and add that coupon on to save some more money. Doesn't even need an override.

Hm..I guess I'll give this a try tonight. If I'm made a laughing stock then I'll just tell them that SpeedRazor from the Internet sent me.

And maybe I'll toss in a steak and asparagus as well, more high-class looking that way.

I got a cheap Forza 2 the other day. Nothing else at my Targets.

I scored some cheap 360 games at a couple of K-Marts this past week also.

I got
Virtua Tennis 3
Monster Madness
Bullet Witch
Smackdown Vs. Raw 2007
Tony Hawk's Project 8
NBA Street Homecourt

plus MLB Power Pros for PS2.

All of them for $5 a piece.

That's my "Just got paid today quick spend it on a decent meal before you're back to ramen noodles" splurge for the week.

I tried the coupon on a 1600 point card, no luck. I reasoned with her that I could use the points to buy software, but she wasn't buying it. :lol

Ah well, I ended up buying 3 point cards for $45 anyway.

no luck as in the system stopped you or no luck as in the cashier wouldn't do it. My guy didn't know and didn't care one way or another, and the system accepted it with no problem at all. If she was the one freaking out about it, do like someone else said and just take them to the front registers.

saw this at CAG..

Just print a bunch of copies of this coupon and check the clearance rack (might be able to get PGR4 for 5 bucks if your target still has it). if the game costs under 10 bucks, make sure you add some gum or soda to bring it over 10 or the coupon won't work.

I picked up Def Jam Icon, Monster Madness and NHL 2K8 today for a total of 5 bucks. I'm definitely checking out some different Targets later this week for some (hopefully) better stuff.
All of those games suck but damn, $5 for all three??

Maybe I'm missunderstanding "a total of 5 bucks"?

Both. When she scanned the card and the coupon, the register said something like "item not available for promotion". She pushed a button on the register to clear the screen, but then she looked over the coupon for 30 seconds and then denied me.

And I did take it to the front register, not the electronic one. I picked the most clueless looking employee also :lol. Ah well, it's not worth my time to go back and try again.

Sweet, trying this tonight when I get out of work.... hopefully now I can buy all those Rock Band tracks that I have been holding off on :D

just a weekend "final day" reminder for folks on this one. also a slight update to my story yesterday. I DID in fact walk away with 10 cards just as the other poster did. 1 the first time, 9 the second time. However I was mistaken in my first post. The coupon does in fact throw up a screen or something that they have to press K1 to get past. The second cashier I bought it from kind of went "umm... hmm.. I don't think you are supposed to use this with these." I DID say at that point what another poster suggested with "It's points to be used on software online." which I am pretty sure she bought right away, but regardless the first cashier who did ring me up without issue told her "I've been just ringing them up all week." Something tells me he's a 360 gamer.

anyway, try the clueless cashier, tell them it's for "online software", do whatever you can. just a reminder that the $15 point cards ends today meaning today is the last day you can get 1600 MS points for $5.

It does bring up the screen but if you buy a game with it it doesn't. When I bought 5 by themselves it brought it up but later when I bought viva pinata (awesome game) and 2 cards, I used 3 coupons and no message ever came up. As long as it sees one valid entry it won't come back with that "error". Coupon is good till the 9th I believe so you guys don't have to worry unless you want points cards for $5 since you could still try to get them for $10 next week. Good luck guys!
