Free Radical: The most important vote you'll make all year.

I don't think a simple platform announcement for this game on any system would have generated as much of a response already, so it looks like their marketing scheme is working pretty well.

Two facts:

1) The game is already in production and the platform has already been chosen. Otherwise the game would be out in 2010 at earliest and would face the possibility of wasting all their preplanning if the platform they anticipated the game to be on isn't chosen by this poll. That doesn't sound like a smart business tactic to me.

2) The only factor to making a successful FPS lies in the online support behind it. IR controls with shitty graphics? Great graphics with auto-aiming and no kb/m support? Whatever. If playing it online sucks, all the graphical prowress or optimal control schemes in the world won't make a goddamned bit of difference and the game will guaranteeably fail.
You're living in a bubble if you really think that.

So Halo, CS, Battlefield, UT, Half-Life, &c., are all as popular as they are only for their single player modes and whatever unique gameplay aspects each game has?

Go on, enlighten me, please. I hope you deem me worthy of your knowledge.

PS3 about to overtake Wii.
(I voted for Wii, but I don't care about this game at all, let alone any FPS. Not that the results will many any difference)

Crysis is a good example of a game where the online factor is almost not a factor. Bioshock is a shoter without online. FEAR isn't considered a great game because the online component. I could go on.

Online is very important for some people. For some people it's not. But it's never essential to the success of a game, no matter how you paint it. Odds are, if it has a great online component, it will sell more. Odds are if it has a great SP campaign it will sell more.

Surprise!

Looks like the PS3 pulled ahead. Good. I hope they make it multi-platform though. I at least want to have the option to buy it for either the 360 or the PS3.

I generally prefer the 360's controls for shooters but I'm used to playing Timesplitters with the playstation controller, free online is also a plus.

That's why I voted PC.
Yeah, but the PC version would actually be good, so somebody would win.

If it's on Wii, it'll be shite, so while everyone other than Wii owners will be mad they didn't get TS, the Wii owners will have to eat a plate of shit and like it. It's lose-lose, more suffering, more joy for Segata.

Damn, you're mean.

so much for Nintendo fans owning all online polls. Neogaf swoops in to flip it back.

PS3 exclusive worked well for haze.

Wii FTW! But, I would actually want them on all consoles. But in the end I would think that the Wii version would be the best one.

Controls < Graphics.

Wiimote is the next step on control evolution!

But this is different than those pathetic Nintendo fans voting for their beloved system! This makes you hardcore!

Future Perfect was dissappointing. Its single-player/co-op campaign was clearly dumbed down in favour of a greater focus on multiplayer and/or on-line features. Neither of the first two games were gung ho, run and gun style games, as both required a fair bit of stealth, had more complicated mission structures, and contained a lot more wit.

Release Timesplitters 4 on Wii and make it a classic Timesplitters experience. You don't need HD resolutions for the game to be great. Spend as much attention on off-line gameplay as on-line and you'll be on to a winner.

Timesplitters has ALWAYS been about the offline multiplayer experience, its basically the continuation of the golden era of splitscreen Goldeneye / Perfect Dark. Online really is quite far down on my list of requirements and given the artstyle the Wii is plenty capable of making it look very pretty.

I just really want to see what a competant FPS dev can do with a Wii exclusive FPS, splitscreen could be awesome if they nail the IR. I've got more than enough PS3/360 shooters to choose from and they all pretty much pale to their PC ports anyway, so a game built around the Wii is something I'd really like to see. I think the artstyle / humour and local multiplayer focus is quite a good fit for Wii, its just not gritty enough for most of the PS3 / 360 crowd, that's what Haze was for.

I voted for the Wii, I'm sick of the usual "new shooter announced for Xbox 360, PS3 & PC" deal. I own enough shooters on my Xbox 360 as it is, I want the Wii to get a good shooter for once. COME ON Wii.

PS3

Don't want another Far Cry wii.

What was better (well, less shit really)? HAZE or Far Cry wii?

What does Far C...you know what, forget it, the Sony fans must have rallied.

I voted Wii because I am intrigued to see what Free Radical could do with an FPA on the Wii post Wii Motion Plus' release.

<crosses fingers>

I voted ps3 because Haze was a stunning technological marvel.
give me good timesplitters on 360 plz.
