FREE Red Dead Redemption DLC Sept 13

It's been over a year since Red Dead Redemption first hit stores, but the Rockstar San Diego blockbuster and GameSpot's 2010 Game of the Year isn't riding off into the sunset just yet. Rockstar today announced that it would launch the free Myths & Mavericks Bonus Pack for the open-world Western on September 13.

Set for release on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the Myths and Mavericks Bonus Pack brings new characters and environments to the game's multiplayer component. The eight new characters are pulled from the original game's single-player mode, and highlighted by aging gunslinger Landon Ricketts. The rest of the new additions include Vicente DeSanta, Drew MacFarlane, Deputy Eli, Deputy Jonah, Javier Esquella, Nastas, and Uncle.

As for the environments, there are 11 new locations supporting between one and four game modes each. Additionally, the Armadillo, Chuparosa, and Tumbleweed maps now support the Stronghold game type.

Even at 2am on a Saturday, I'm guaranteed to find a game of Liar's Dice with a Smokey McPot type who doesn't understand it and is yelling at his friend. Good stuff.
 
Wow. That is crazy awesome they are still doing some MP DLC but I wished that this game just got the same level of single player content as GTA IV.

Are there people actually still playing this? I thought the MP sounded cool but the execution was poor and I don't think I ever touched it again after that initial impression.

After some touch ups, the multiplayer is still the best multiplayer I've ever played. Especially with friends.

I love trolling around as West Dickens or Seth, but Uncle is going to be a hoot.
 
Red Dead Redemption is one of my favorite games of all time, but I've only ever played the multiplayer once.

Makes me want to punch a wall. I couldn't care less for MP content.

My favorite thing to do is push snipers off from cliffs as the snipe gang hideouts (specifically that canyon one). I don't troll often in Red Dead, but when I do, it is the most satisfying trolling ever.

I sold my RDR copy a few months ago, and I just bought Undead Nightmare stand alone but I can not, for the life of me, find a way to play cooperative, everybody shoots everybody, I'm just level 1, so I get massacred and bored too fast and leave :(

i still don't understand why Red Dead hasn't received any more singleplayer DLC. I thought the world would be perfect for it. I would pay top dollar for a couple hours of single player action say playing as a sheriff or a mexican soldier or a bandido.

Yeah, didn't UN sell pretty good? I guess San Diego wants to dedicate the majority of resources into their next game...or they are working on new Single Player DLC as we speak. Man, that would be awesome. I'm sure they could make a decent profit.

Yeah and i thought UN was quite weak and the idea of jumping on the zombie bandwagon was abit unoriginal.

The world could still serve as the backdrop for several Gay Tony and Lost & Damned -style expansions.
 
I regret trading in my RDR. I feel like I missed out on some really good DLC. Maybe I'll have to buy another copy.
 
Bugger i was hoping Walton Lowe would make it in... Still nice that its free but those bastards better fix the freezing glitch, I can't believe R* sony or microsoft have allowed this to go on for so long..
 
Does it fix corrupted save files? Cause I was at the end of the game and now when I load my save file it starts at the beginning of the game.

good that they are supporting it

but competitive mp in that game is meh. guess thats why they charged for the actual single player dlc

Yeah they messed up the way we access things. RDR's open world lobby should be defacto in GTA5 meaning things will be a lot more interesting to do.

The only competitive modes that still have full rooms are Race and Deathmatch.

Free Roam is always packed in the vanilla version and Gay Tony in fact i like some of the custom games that people have come up with in the free roam rooms.
