FRIDAY NIGHT [OT2] - Official NeoGAF Weekend Kickoff REDUX

How old were you when it came out? I was in 5th grade lol
19

I took my ex to see it at the cinema, I had zero idea what it even was, all I knew was posters on bus stops asking 'what is the Matrix?' :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I was in 9th Grade when the first Matrix came out. Man the late 90s were something when it comes to entertaiment. Lot of movies and videogames that were being released around that time became classics and broke new ground.

The best era I reckon, hardly any craziness, everyone just accepted everyone, all this racist crap was pretty much done by the late 90's, everything was cheaper, cars were awesome and you could fix them yourself, films were awesome (And some utterly cheese), and gaming was peak!

And you could smoke in pubs..

Best time.

The 2000s and some of 2010s were great too but for me it's 1995 to 2012 is the sweet spot for me

Nowadays I tend to watch more older stuff when it comes to shows and movies I missed. I only watch modern stuff that interest me but most of the stuff being relased by Hollywood doesn't interest me at all. Same with most modern videogames. If anything I play more older games and with a few exceptions rarely play modern games

Also anime I've been watching since 2002

Also been reading lot more books, manga and comics lately

It's just interesting to see how much the decline in certain entertaiment industry has gotten me to mostly drop them

I'm exactly the same, in all aspects. I think the only recent film I enjoyed was Ballerina

Oh, Dune was good too. The only two films I've been to the cinema for in years..

Most media I find on Netflix or Prime, etc, just doesn't resonante at all and most of it has this garish look to it, as for the writing..

Gaming hasn't been too bad, we've had some awsome stuff come out and some brilliant indies, most of the AAA studios though, yeah, I don't really buy into a lot of it, most of it is utter gash

But, I have been going back to quite a bit of retro lately, mostly on the Deck, PS2 stuff, Amiga, Wipeouts etc

I guess the best really is in the past :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I only went two times to the theater last year to see Longlegs and Nosfertu. Both were fantastic. I'm not gonna to watch any movies at the theaters this year.

So far there has been 13 films I loved that came out this year

I mostly download stuff that interest me when it comes to shows. I'll try out shows that my friends reccomand. But if I'm not grabbed by the first or third episode I tend to drop them

Lot of the gaming side lately hasn't been interesting me. Even the Japanese stuff I tend to wait for a sale. If it's Nintendo, Xenoblade, Trails or certain other Japanese franchises, I will buy them full price but my spending when it comes to videogames has been considerably less

But, I have been going back to quite a bit of retro lately, mostly on the Deck, PS2 stuff, Amiga, Wipeouts etc

I still need to finish Shadow Hearts, I have been playing that on my Steamdeck using a PS2 Emulator but nowadays I'm just more interested in reading books, manga and comics than I am playing videogames

I hate Nostalgia but there's the case that certain stuff is better than most of the modern stuff due to back than, focusing on fun and telling a good story without any preachiness from either side

I always felt that anime in the early 2010s were way better than modern anime even though that's slowly turning around since they are seeing how much trouble the Japanese Game Industry is in due to listening to the bad actors and have been thankfully going to what actually sells. This anime season is a good example of that

Manga never had that issue in the first place and it's one of the reasons why I prefer reading manga to watching anime. Especially when lot of the time anime is used to just promote the manga. So that's why lot of anime series are left with one season and they want you to read the manga to finish the story.

When I was a kid I remember my cousin wearing her jeans so tight she had to lay down on her bed and use a fork to bring up the zipper.
She could hardly bend her knees 😆

It's been over 60 hours without sleep. At this point, you'd expect my body to give out but somehow, I'm still running on empty

My mind won't stop racing. It's like a storm I can't escape

Wearing a condom is like playing the piano with gloves.
You're still playing the piano 😁
I'm more offended at the idea of playing the piano with gloves.

Microsoft has ceased the sale of digital movies and TV shows on the XBOX store.
I was afraid my existing content would be wiped out. I bought a TON of stuff.
Guess I'll be buying on Youtube from now on.

So my vasectomy is having some complications. The scab on my left side fell off and now the incision hole hasn't closed but my skin has fused to the vas deferens. And that is also exposed. Jesus I hope they can see me tomorrow to get this fixed. It feels awful.
