FRIDAY NIGHT [OT2] - Official NeoGAF Weekend Kickoff REDUX

About to start my weekend - I'm going to attempt to replace one of my bathtubs with a shower. I've never done anything like that before, so I'm sure it's going to go horribly lol
 
For the first time in four weeks I've managed to fall asleep without pharmaceutical assistance. Insomnia has been absolutely brutal on my mental health. I hope last night was the first of many restful sleeps.

Been there a few times bud, I didn't find anything that helped that wasnt pharmaceutical.

Well, apart from driving 300 miles in a day, that always does me. Not the most practical cure though.

Keep it up though, it always helps getting a good night! Early bath and bed!
 
I just spend an hour and a half on hold only for the person on the other end of the line to say "I need to transfer you to another department" at which point the calls disconnected because the hold queue I'm being transferred to is full. It took over an hour of calling every 10 minutes to even reach the original hold queue without being told to "call back later" because their system was full.

Was having a couple afternoon beers with my neighbor and we started talking chicken coops. He's had chickens for a couple years now, and I'm thinking about it. Would be nice to save money on eggs lol.
 
Shower conversion project step one: demolition of old tub and surround is done. To my absolute surprise: 1. there is no mold, and 2. behind the existing surround, they had just glued it to the drywall (the ghetto-ass wallpaper was put on the drywall for this house at the factory) and the drywall is entirely intact

Tomorrow's fun: someone had put a 1 1/2 inch sewer gas air pipe angled through the floor directly under the old tub. Obviously that isn't going to work with the shower, so I'll have to re-route that through the wall and under the house. The surround I got is supposed to attach directly to the studs (not drywall) so I might cut all the drywall out to install the shower surround - then mud repair around it once it's in. Or, I might just be ghetto and adhere it to the drywall like the old one.

It saves no money. Do it because it is fun to have chickens. It does not save money. I spend more on feed and supplies than I have ever spent on eggs. It is good for the kids to have something to take care of.

Yeah, I was just joking about the money angle. I just think it would be neat to have them. Plus, I loooove fresh eggs.

You can save money on eggs. I will tell you the secret of my people. 😎

Usually, people put a feeder and fill it to the brim. Anyone with a farm or knowledge will tell you that not only the chickens will gorge themselves into oblivion all day erryday, but any little bastard with access like birds, rats, mouses, whatever.

The chicken bastards will gorge themselves full and shit themselves full...and still shit only an egg a day each, sometimes even less. And still keep eating whatever they can eat, worms, ants, little critters, dead birds who suffocated either on their water or filling themselves with corn feed, I've even seen my chickens killing and eating rats and mouses who went to steal their shit. And that was on a filled to the brim feeder!

They'll just keep eating and shitting because that's all they do.

But they can comfortably do with much less. I would give them just a bit of it on a plant tray every day when I went in to steal their unborn spawns. I would put a bit out of the way for little birds because why the fuck not, they're bros. And suddenly, I was spending a quarter of what I was spending on feed, the little bastards where as full and healthy as ever a chicken could be...and still shitting an egg each most days. 😎

Also, don't ever get gooses or ducks. They're angry and violent bastards that will attack you almost always, especially if there are females around, will gorge the fuck outta your wallet and shit eggs just two times a year. 😅

PS: don't de afraid if any night you hear a ruffle and hear the chickens screaming, only for you to go there to see what the fuck is happening and then you find one or several headless chickens or two shiny eyes looking at you while draggin or climbing up a tree with a live one or a corpse. It just happens. 🤷🏻‍♂️🐔 😵💀🍗

Like, I was just thinking about a video I saw a long time ago about the Jackson 5 and then, out of nowhere, it popped up in my YouTube Shorts. I'm almost certain I haven't watched that exact video in years.

This kind of thing happens pretty often. I can't recall any other recent examples off the top of my head, but it's honestly kind of weird. I'm not usually someone who dives deep into this kind of stuff, but it's starting to feel a little creepy

Or are these ad algorithms THAT good?

Depending on how much Youtube you consume, yes they're that good. Their algorithm will pick up on like "x% of people who watch this sequence of videos in this order will then go on to want to watch Jackson 5". They've basically got everyone on the planet feeding this thing...

Fuck..

Shorts are basically my personal cringe buffet. The sheer volume of poorly edited or downright bizarre videos is mind-blowing. Every time I scroll, it feels like I'm watching the internet's outtakes.

It's like a masterclass in how to do everything wrong in video editing and somehow, I can't stop watching.
 
Made a bunch of pizzas for my neighbors and I'm happy that they turned out well! Funnily enough, I'm not very hungry, so I haven't made one for me yet. Gonna play some DOOM and then probably make one later.

I'm already feeling this weekend 😌
