FromSoftware Announces The DuskBloods - Switch 2 Exclusive

How do you plan to solo PvP game?
There's this thing called hope and I'm hoping they've got something for those not necessarily wanting to party with others all the time. It's too soon to tell. It's too soon to say Nightreign will have solo runs. Either you have bots or you can play in offline mode.

What's kinda weird is I have this Anarchy Reigns feeling and I wish I didn't. I bought Anarchy Reigns after it phased out and I played with bots. It was a very lackluster experience, but I got to "play it".

Again, I'm going off my hopes that they can deliver some sorta single player experience. It certainly wasn't that Microsoft E3 press conference announcement trailer for Elden Ring type feeling.

This looks SO good. Honestly looks a million times better than Nightreign.

Honestly, Nintendo haters, be honest here. Would you rather have Nightreign or this?

Can't say until we know more about what this game is actually like.

This one feels more unique so far and has a more unique art style. But I definitely find the pure co-op approach of Nightreign more appealing than PVPVE.
PVP has never been something I look forward to or seek out in FROM games (be it the souls games or Armored Core)

The interview with Myazaki.

So yes full Online PvPvE. But this is not a shift in the studio's direction. They will still develop singleplayer game.

Some interesting concept I guess for the a multiplayer but I am not an expert. You can assign role to your character which will give additional objective. Like defeat a designed opponent or "befriend" with a designed player.

Some objectives will be boss to defeat.

Hub area to choice and customise character then you drop on maps.

He says their will be lore in the characters gears. Other than that he didn't mention anything. So clearly not lore focus I guess.

Also the rat at the end is the "firekeeper" of the game. They wanted something cute to fit Nintendo style 😆

Looks interesting but not for me I think.
Multiplayer centric games where story is secondary, is not my cup of tea.

Sony owns a part of Kadokawa/ FromSoftware & they're letting them make games for others. Does it not say weird?

Sony only owns 10-12% of Kadokawa, that's not nearly enough to control what From Soft wants to do. Miyazaki is still the decision maker

As long as Nintendo keeps a good relationship with him, they can still make exclusive deal with From Soft without Sony's permission

I hope they show more of this game at TGA.
Only if it's a release date announcement.

I really don't want to see more of this game until I know when it's actually going to be released.

That's actually how I feel about every game. I don't want to know anything until it has a firm release date.

I'll get it if I don't need a NSO sub because my need for more Vampire games is quite strong.

if it's truly an online only, or very only focused game I'll skip it for sure.

I'll be damned if I ever pay for NSO
The initial presskit detailing the game as a PvPvE title gives the game a high probability it'll be used to push NSO sub numbers.

Developed for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2; 'THE DUSKBLOODS' is a PvPvE title with online multiplayer at its core, where up to 8 players vie for supremacy among themselves and against challenging foes.

I think what bothers me the most is we still have no new info on it or anything with Elden Ring Tarnished Edition. So clearly there is some internal hiccups going on there.

I'm actually sure it will match Elden rings ps4 quality and frames, at least I hope so with upscale g and pacing

This could make me hop in the car in go by a Switch 2 depending how it turns out.
Exactly where I'm at. I've been keeping an eye on pricing and walking myself off multiple cliffs cause I'm already hyped, lol. I just need to wait until we know and see more. I may pull the trigger immediately depending on how it all goes, lol.

feel the exact same way
even if theres a 100% single player non-NSO mode, if the level design is clearly mp-focused, ill hate that

curious though
feel like this coooould be a gem due it to being more a niche title, so maybe they have the freedom to try new things

but regarding NSO, unfortunately you need it to purchase the NES/SNES/n64/gamecube/etc controllers
wireless 1st party remakes of classic controllers is something i cant pass up, so i'll pay $4 for a single month of NSO to buy controllers

I really wished this wasn't an exclusive. :( Sadly I will miss this since I don't own any console and have zero plans buying one.

Oh well, patiently waiting for their next upcoming big non-exclusive single-player game.

Gonna assume this game is planned for the 2nd semester of this year, having a new trailer at the usual june general direct + a dedicate mini direct only for the game would work fine for it

Elden Ring = April - June
Duskbloods = September - November

This is my guess too, though I would expand the window for The Duskbloods to include August, since Nintendo sometimes release their horror-themed games around then to coincide with Obon. I think October is more likely, since this likely has a more western focus than something like Emio, but I wouldn't rule out August, given that both companies involved are Japanese.
