Fucked up anime/manga

Also, I'm surprised that nobody mentioned Kite. I've never been so repulsed by an anime in my entire life. Not even Gantz is that bad. A shockfest of gore and rape for the hell of it.

Both Kite and Mezzo Forte have multiple rape scenes so thrown in that they're edited out for R-rated cuts of the films and you don't even notice they're gone. Umetsu sure likes rape. :(

I always thought Kiseijuu was quite charming.

Oh dang you just reminded me of Kemonozume

Youtube the 'kissing' scene for a small sample of what that show is about.

I kinda hate parasite. Don't know why.

You didn't read it in the right environment. Make sure no pants are worn in the vicinity of the manga. Now also make sure that candles are lit, and lotion and tissues are sitting nearby. You are almost ready to read this manga.

I don't personally seek out the fucked up stuff that are touted for just that quality because they end up looking funny for their outrageousness, so I'll just go with the Berserk anime ending, End of Evangelion, some parts of Paranoia Agent, and that horror mountain Ito story that is always posted everywhere on the internet.

some parts of Paranoia Agent.

I marathoned Paranoia Agent one verrrry late night. I had trouble sleeping for a week and nightmares when I did manage to sleep. Shit was unsettling in ways that is hard to describe. Media that relies on visual shock doesn't really linger in my mind like that. Paranoia Agent really wormed its way into my neuroses.

Gantz.

There are few things in the world that make feel pure hate and Gantz is one of them. The most horrible and vile shows I've ever experienced.

Ito may be a fucking madman, but at least his stuff is actually DAMN GOOD. He's like the Hieronymus Bosch of the manga world, man.

I'm actually surprised by all the Gantz posts. The only horrible and vile thing about it, IMO, was how terrible the ending was.

I don't like pure gore or gross outs. I like Junji Ito's humor (and his love for cats), Shintaro Kago's wry inversions, the gothic beauty of Suehiro Maruo's art. So stuff like Henmaru Machino, that Mai-chan bullshit, or Hiroaki Samura's indulgences has no appeal for me.

For animu, people should watch Cat Soup~

I'm not sure if it's Rin, but, the one where the girl is immortal and it's basically a free pass to have the anime be torture porn 90% of the time.

I only checked it out for the sexy bdsm stuff, it's really tame (maybe the needle scene is meant to be gross but I found it hot) and is probably the worst anime I've ever seen. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone for wanting fucked up stuff or just generally.

Still can't believe this was on American television.
Bobobo-bo-bo-bobo-Episode-1-English-Dubbed.jpg

Naaaaah, thats just bat shit crazy, not fucked up.

I fuckin love the spanish dub, is amazingly good.
Also, Cartoon Network did here some full day marathons of bobobo. Me and my friends love it, but after 5 continued episodes, we had to stop. You star to think like them if you watch more lol

Worse thing of all, I told a friend some years ago I was in the mood for one of this anime comedies with one guy and a group of girls. He told me, watch school days, is hilarious...
Son of a bitch.
I try to get people to watch Puella Magi Madoka Magica as a whimsical straight-forward magical girl show.

So long as the person you're recommending it to can take it, being hit by that first unexpected twist is part of the fun.

Not the kind of violent stuff most people are talking about it here, but the second half of the Usagi Drop (or Bunny Drop, I've seen it referred to both ways) manga warrants the use of brain bleach.

Completely ruined the anime for me, which mercifully ended just before the second half.

I was at risk of being banned for asking about the manga in the anime thread :P

To name something potentially more obscure, Vampire Princess Miyu TV. Bleak horror show made with magical girl tropes and the protagonist even does mercy killings.

This. Seriously. It's super fucked up considering the whole ignorant nature of the male MC. It doesnt help that animation is a little light hearted looking but the themes and the subjects involved are fucking dark.

Kidnapping, child soldiers, enslavement, mass genocide, rape, brainwashing, rape, suicide, racism, rape, psychosis, torture, rape, abortion and did I mention rape?
And yet, the protagonist is like Neo in the Matrix and the antagonist is Agent Smith. Despite all the sad stuff around them, both characters have so much plot armor it makes the entire show feel stupid.

Also, handling certain themes doesn't mean it handles them seriously or even well. You can check off a list like that and still end up with a bad, silly show.

I looked at the wikipedia for the manga and yow.

But the best part is:

Appearances in other media
Rin and Daikichi appear in a DLC pack for the PlayStation Vita game, Touch My Katamari, which was released in Japan on May 24, 2012.

Bu, but, but... I was in the mood for something stupid and fun with some trope anime girls :(

Kuttsukiboshi is probably the most fucked up and outright ridiculous anime I've ever seen. At least it's only two episodes. It involves
incest, rape, telekinesis, yuri, and stupidity
. And the ending is just the dumbest, most nonsensical thing I've ever seen.

Hey i just saw that on your "recommendation", you forgot that its hot. Its pretty much non stop yuri action with some crazy bitches.

It's actually a master piece of narration because of its thematics, metaphores, multi layers plots that unfold after several watching

Also, perfect animation, art, and soundtrack.

I do love rewatching me some FLCL. The monster reveals, the frantic pace and the surprisingly sensitive coming of age story are woven together so tightly it hurts when it ends.

I've heard some things about Master of Martial Hearts.
OH GOD. It's pretty much similar to School Days, except it's even MORE left field and took that turn because "HEY, look how we can suddenly completely & utterly change the shift in tone!!" Seriously, episodes 1 through 5 are basically Ikki Tousen or Queen's Blade with girls fighting over an item with clothes being shredded, but then the final episode, ep. 6, is just a huge mess of WTF.

& Shadow Star Narutaru has the most misleading OP ever. Just a shame that the OVA ends right where Dark Horse stop publishing the series.

I also remember SciFi/SyFy airing Now & Then, Here & There.....man, did that series get depressing...

People were asking questions about the manga because they had heard of the controversial thing, and just wanted to know what the difference was but any questions were sniped lol. Super weird.

Oh, I think I know why. It's probably just GAF's policy on spoilers, especially manga spoilers. I thought you meant questions about the manga were sniped in the general anime thread long after the show aired. This actually had reasons behind it.

School Days has prolly the dumbest protag I have ever seen, and an unexpected twist of an ending.

Special mention to Green Green, because it's just ass.

Again, not really fucked up but interesting nonetheless, God's Child from the Nishioka siblings. It has a very characteristic style that almost romanticizes the serial killer that is the MC.

Their other works are also worthy of note, but i feel this one is particularly well achieved.

People spring School Days on people as if it's a surprise shock show, but it really shouldn't be.

It's much more enjoyable taken as a tragedy with Makoto as the fatally flawed protagonist, where you know beforehand that things end badly for everyone, then you can see the events building as they happen instead of being oblivious to it.

The art in their manga is pretty damn interesting. It doesn't go for realism, but it's still really creepy and disturbing.

I only watched the first episode of Usagi/Bunny Drop.

So I should look up the manga ending once I'm done with the anime?

It's not going to affect your enjoyment of the show, so why not? The problem was due to folks trying to push it on people who were still watching the show, because it was funny, or something.
