From eps. 45 onward is one of the best arcs of the manga - so many epic things happen. :D

Seriously can't wait to see them animated.
Mustang's coup will be done so much better here than the first anime.

Australian cleavage :lol

My GF seemed pretty convinced that Ed was going to start making out with her in that scene where they were like three inches from each other's faces. :lol

Just a simple yes/no will suffice as I don't want to get spoiled with the specifics, but I'm on does Mustang get a larger role anytime soon? I'm on Episode 45 and feel like he has been kind of ignored.
Yes.

The only part of the manga he isn't heavily involved in is the Briggs arc. Everything he does during the Briggs arc, everything since his meeting with Bradley in his office has been preparing for the final arc.

Weird thing I've noticed about Brotherhood is they've made Mustang feel like a side character rather than the 3rd main character. The way they've produced episodes, they really go out of the way to make sure Ed appears in every one of them (up until the last few episodes), and Mustang seems to have received the most "content" cuts aside from maybe the Xing characters.

Probably also has to do with the (relatively) slow pace they've handled everything since the Briggs arc started compared to everything before the Briggs arc. I think they were initially going for a 52 ep series, and around halfway through production (mid-late 20s in episodes), they received the go ahead for a 5th season. (Personally, I think a 6 season adaptation would be perfect)

heh, purpose of that scene (panel in the manga) was to show how Ed had grown over the course of the series :P

Not too worried about the 'content cuts' for Mustang as aside from Ishval, the only time he'll be getting major screentime is from ep. 45 to the end. Even after the time he met with Bradley in the manga, he wasn't really there - but, it could also be intentional as he made it appear as if he was keeping in line.
But we already know he was plotting since the murder of Hughes, Bradley just breaking up his team basically sealed the deal.

Also, with vol. 8 of Brotherhood releasing later this month, I'm sure we'll finally learn about what will be added to vol. 9, since according to ANN, there will be some new content.

Meh, I'm not seeing that. Mustang is a really popular character. He just wasn't in the Briggs arc, unless they just changed it to insert him, I'm not sure what they could have done.

Simple. They could've shown him actually doing his work without Hawkeye there to babysit/distract him during some of the Briggs scenes. :lol

I don't think that would have done anything other than wasted our time.

Exactly, which is why there's no need to have tried to splice him into the Briggs arc other than when he actual had something to do.

For non-manga readers:

The guys who attacked the train were from Mustang's unit in Ishval. But you wouldn't know that since that whole part of Ishval was cut out :(

Oh man. I know there are too many episodes to go for the asskicking by the good guys to continue, but the last 5 minutes of this episode were AWESOME :D

The best part is you sourced it to a page no one can read

Sorry, forgot to edit the original message, but apparently TBS/MBS is reshowing episode 46 on Sunday, March 7. Airtimes for TBS is 4:20-4:50am Japan Time, while MBS is 4:33-5:03am Japan time.

Of course, if you don't want to go through the trouble of streaming the raw, Funimation has the ep. up as well.

63 episodes is more or less confirmed.

going by Irie's blog, they're working at ep 59 as of now (which will cover the last chapter, 104), and then, he says, "just 4 more to go".
so, 63 episodes. Seems almost certain FMA manga will end in june, chapter 108, and the anime just about 1-2 weeks later.

yeah, i know the staff needs some time to prepare, but i guess everyone knows that mangas are usually 2-3 chapters forward from the latest magazine publication. Meaning Arakawa is probably working on the end right now, or maybe the manga's been done already.

or maybe the manga won't end with vol.26, and there'll be a 27th volume and dvd-only/webcast episodes?
but hey, i really think the manga is at the end of the road, aiming for 108 chaps. Let's hope the end of the journey is as good as what's been before.

That's cool they anounced that on their blog. It'll be the first time I've finished a series as it was published... a good series anyway. Can't wait to read the next chapter and see Sunday's ep.

Anime is finally getting into oh-so-awesome part. Pure, amazing nonstop action from now on :) I wonder what will be the final Opening as we should soon get it.
Also 105th chapter will be released soon, can't wait for it :D

Goddamn, this episode is tough to watch, knowing what happened in the last anime.

:/

But I really enjoyed the Nina/Ed/Al interaction this time around.

Huh, I actually like the more confident resolute Scar. Although "Daddy's burning":/

Ep. 47... soooo goooood. :D

RANFAN! RANFAN! RANFAN!

Things are gearing up for the final arc and it's glorious. Next episode features one of my favorite moments in the manga. :D

At least here his story isn't dragged on for no real purpose.

So, I guess next time
Hohenheim being badass
, right?
Also, has
Pride already eaten Gluttony
or not yet?

I'm on episode 33 at the moment. Hopefully the series will finish just before I catch up.
Season 3's opening sucks, though. I think it's mostly the music that bugs me.

Third OP is by far the worst of this series (or, even worse than Melissa), but at least they redeemed themselves with 4th OP and ED which are both amazing.

Watching the english Dub, I am reminded by how long it has been since I've read the beginning of the Manga. I cant even recall the sequence of events in the beginning. Although I do know that I hate the Tucker part in the manga (so sad) and the episode was almost heartbreaking. Much better done in this one than in the last series.

Al's voice has gotten a little weird (is it the same person cause it sounds like it is but they sound an octave higher sometimes). Scar is pretty much exactly the same as I imagined him when I read the manga. He is so bad ass btw, and just gets much more so as the series goes on.

Awww... I love the OP3 - Golden Time Lover is such an awesome song... ED3 on the other hand... *barf*

That and when Roy meets up with his team again, as well as the appearance of Madame Christmas.

Not yet, but coming soon.

That's because Brotherhood moves a lot of events around, especially in the beginning. For example events in episode 2 didn't happen unless 5th-6th volume of manga.
Al's voice actor has been changed because of puberty. He will probably play Ling though.

The ending music kind of sucks too, but the first 10 seconds or so are good, which is all that really matters.

It took me a while to notice that there was sometimes post-credits content, rather than just a preview for the next episode.

Hmmm going through the first few volumes it seems like that shouldn't be a big deal since Al and Ed haven't started the real philosopher's stone/homoculi story yet. Basically just adventures of Ed and Al just strung together. Also, they don't get any normal power ups/strength boosts so it also wouldn't matter.

Does it continue to work out?

Final OP/ED starts on 4th April:

OP - Rain by Sid
ED - Ray of Light by Shouko Nakagawa

Yes, the final OP is by the group that did the first ED. Whatever. FMA:B is also confirmed to end in June this year.

Oh ho...it will. The Manga's already heating up, and there's been plenty of exciting moments being set up in the anime. We're coming to a close, and Ara is gonna end her series with a fucking bang. So stoked on how this is all gonna end. :D

Hope you're right about June.

I take it you dislike Sid?

Interesting. Has Sid done anything fast paced that would fit for an OP? The first ED definitely wasn't but EDs aren't supposed to be.

OTOH I really hate complaining about free fansubs because they do take tons of work, and are coming out faster than ever relative to any point in the past.

I wasn't complaining; I was just making an observation. Sorry if I pissed you off.

Oh you didn't. I was just stating my observation on such things. :)

Worst comes to worst we all just watch Funi's sub on Thursday.

Yeah, I usually watch Funi's, since it's generally a higher-quality translation and helps support the official release, but I was wanting to catch it earlier since I'll probably watch ep4 dub (since I missed it on Adult Swim on Saturday) during my break between classes on Thursday when it gets posted. I was hoping for something to watch while eating during my break between classes tomorrow, but whatever.
