How much of Brian was CGI?
I'm guessing the 2nd Tony Jaa fight, and the final scene.
Overall though I'm very impressed! What about his speech though, sound-a-like?

It looked like some shots when they were in Abu Dhabi were CGI too. Mainly that scene when they're on the beach when they first get there.

Oh and I thought they were kind of done with these with the main cast after this one? That's not necessarily true is it? I kind of want it to be. :/

They're at this point just like with the Saints Row games. They've made them superheroes that can do whatever they want in a city and how the hell do you top that?

My solution, have the Saints Row team make a F&F game. In my mind it's freaking incredible.

There was a ton of scenes where I couldn't even tell if it was the real Paul or not. Either it was a coincidence.. But was the scene where
he speaks to Mia on the phone
cgi?

Edit: thinking about it, they probably just re-edited that scene to create a completely different conversation from the original script.

The only time I thought the CGI was poor was during the Abu Dhabi action scene.

I thought it looked a little weird until he turns his head and the profile totally looks like Paul.

the part in the gif on the previous page is that the head looks a little to big for the body and the face looks to wide, if they narrowed it just a little bit I wouldnt be able to tell.

FAST EIGHT THEORIES
Hobbs is in NYC now working for Kurt Russel, Torreto is living in LA. BOOM, attack on the UN. Russel is in charge of finding who commited the attack, so he sends Hobbs on a wild gooes hunt. Hobbs through investigating finds out that Russels himself is responsible for the attack. Hobbs now not knowing who to trust turns to the only man he can trust, Torreto.

i think
Owen will recover and break out Deckard...with the shaw brothers going after Dom again..it makes sense why they showed Owen still being alive in the beginning and with Deckard alive at the end in the prison

I think was more of a double, but
the scene where he is running up the bus looked like he was CG.. at least his face

Man, am I the only one who doesn't want
either Shaw brother back for the sequel? SO many badass actors could play an insane villain.
I don't want a retread of 6 and 7.

Give me Mel Gibon, Van Damne, Keanu, Idris Elba, etc.

is the movie worth watching on premium formats (IMAX, RPX, amc equivalent) with the big screens and way too loud speakers?

Other theories

At the NYC auto show, Torreto who has gained infamy in the auto sports world is holding a keynote speech on family and racing. He mentions something about the dodge brothers, and as he is unveiling the new Dodge Viper the Shaw brothers come outout and shoot at Dom. Its total fucking mayhem. Ludacris who was in the show hacks the lights off and kurt russels team comes in with night visioin sunglassess and save the day.

They all regroup at the statue of liberty. "Were being hunted" says dom.
"No" says russel. "were the ones hunting"
Apparantly they knew the shaw brothers would come after vince so they set the trap. After the show hobbs traced the brothers to Detroit to find out that they have rigged four dodge challengers to explode if they ever go past 6000 rpm in fourth gear. now torettos team plus hobbss, plus russel has to find theses Dodge Challengers and save the day.

Naming ideas:
Fast and Furious 8
Fast and Furious Part Eight
Fast and Furious: Revenge
The Fast and the Furious Saga: Old Enemies, New Friends

-whole opening before the house explodes
-almost everything in abu dhabi
-the second fight against toni jaa
-most of the la stuff (except the phone call and where he stands next to vin after the big fight is over), also the scene where they stand "in front" of la in broad daylight
-the whole beach scene and final scene

i would guess 65-75% of his scenes are doubles/cg/stuff lifted from other films

I hope the Shaw
dad comes in the next movie and it's Shaw family vs. Toretto Family.

Cast Liam Neeson
as the Shawfather
and take my money.

Sad lines in the movie. :(

Letty "Aren't you going to say goodbye?"
Dom ".....I don't say goodbyes"

Tej " Things are going to be different from now on"

The movie was awful, seriously. I heard so much praise from everyone but it does nothing for me. The last 5 minutes were the best part though.

I wanted expendables to bring back van damme but as his twin brother.

when they first get to Abu Dhabi

notice that Dom is the only one of the crew that is driving an American car...lol.

Dom just can't ever drive foreign

He does it in the Rundown:

RUNDOWN-1_1079638104.jpg

And an episode of star trek voyager.

Also, regarding CGI with Brian:

I'm pretty sure the entire scene where they are at the house and it blows up was all CGI regarding Paul Walker's character
The fact we're wondering tells how well they pulled it off

Yea, if you watch closly most of the shots of him in that scene are looking away from the camera

even with the supercomputers of today

yes. it would take thousands of linked super computers, and even with that, it would take months (probably years) to search through the data. and its not possible to hack into everything with a camera at the same time. how would you upload all the data? that would mean you have to establish a live video stream from thousands of mobile devices. the whole mobile net would coulapse within seconds.

do you think it could be feasible in 50-100 years or something like that

saw it.
I think it was OK. maybe my expectations are higher
so far
5 is top crazy (I guess because it's a heist)
6
then 7 (hacker plot meh. Also less dialogues more bang boom)

Sorry dudes, but this doesn't even come close to surpassing Fast Five imo. I certainly enjoyed the movie but it had a lot of issues.

1. The group dynamic wasn't nearly as good. Mia was barely in it (again), Elena had like one minute of screen time, Brian had a reduced role, Hobbs was barely in it. Han and Gisele were sorely missing and their deaths were kinda swept under the rug too. It was supposed to be the driving force of this movie yet Dom was the only one who seemed to be mourning at all and even he ditched Han's funeral after like two minutes. Too much of the movie was focused on a completely new character (Ramsey) who doesn't yet have chemistry with the crew.

2. Villains: Shaw was badass but overused. The entire plot device of
trying to get the God's Eye so they could find and track Shaw felt completely unnecessary because Shaw kept popping up in like every damn scene anyways
. Tony Jaa should've got more screen time instead imo. And if it were up to me I'd remove the Jakande character from the movie completely.

3. Pacing was just too much imo, there's so much action and over-the-top scenes that you just kinda quickly become desensitized to all the crazy stuff happening on-screen. It turns (what should be) special moments into just normal moments.

I felt like the script kind of lacked focus, it'd be interesting to see what they had planned before it was rewritten cause of Paul Walker's death. Speaking of him, his
sendoff was absolutely brilliant, I was tearing up there. Best part of the movie by far.

they were saying right after 6 that the rock had scheduling conflicts with that shitty hercules movie and might not have even been in it. Maybe why he got less screen time, but he's still featured in some fun badass scenes.

i think someone mentioned it earlier in this thread...but it sort of feels like the cast is getting kind of bored and tired of the series in some way...i don' t know, it just doesn't feel the cast had the same passion that they did in Fast Five had or even Fast 6..

but that is probably because of Paul's death that changed alot of things for them

The actors weren't bored, we are the ones getting bored of the characters.
As one dimensional as they come

Tyrese: Clown
Luda: Hacker, smart
O'Connor: Hero
Diesel: Alpha family man
Hobbs: The rock with guns

Letty is actually the only interesting character.

maybe Fast 8 should be the final one with Dom and his crew.... and then after that move on to a whole new cast of characters
