Furious 7 |OT| One Last GIF!

Saw it tonight, found it to be okay, way better than the borefest that was Fast 6.
Couple of my friends said this one was the most insane yet because of the crazy over the top scenes, but honestly i think those are way more believable than Vin Diesel going Superman mode in the previous film.

And since everyone is ranking the movies:

5>1>7>4>>>2>3>>>6

I saw the movie on the weekend and thought it was the second best movie in the franchise overall, behind the sixth. Someone commented earlier about how it seemed less family focused in an ironic sort of way and I'm inclined to agree. It was incredibly entertaining though, what with
the parachuting cars, skyscraper traversing car, Hobb's psychic drone tracking, precise night time grenade bag shooting, trademark Tony Jaa double knee jump, and spinning car Ramsey exchanges.
The franchise is fully aware of how absurd it has become and I don't know how they're going to top the over the top-ness of this one.

It was also my first time watching a movie on D-BOX seats and I must say, Furious 7 is the perfect movie for it. I braced myself a few times during the slow mo lead ups to a crash.

Wait

6 was a borefest and yet you rank 4 over 2, 3 and 6? What movie did YOU watch? I say this as someone who loved them all.

Saw it today. Hadn't seen any of the movies in this franchise before last week but decided to see 4, 5 and 6 before this. Gonna check the first one as soon as I can as well (and maybe the rest as well if I feel like it).

But damn what a fun movie. Also the ending was so beautiful. Really touching and teared up a little. And that's saying something since I'm not a long time fan.

Yep the wife and I felt it wasn't as family oriented as well with the team (esp Toretto) going on their own a lot. I think that's due to the death and the fact they had to slice and splice the story. The stunts and action scenes were utterly ridiculous in mostly a good way. Love the ending, it was really sad.

Wifey and I marathoned the series before watching this.
My ranking 5>7>6>4>1>2>3. 4 grew on me and I used to like Tokyo drift but it slid down further (probly due to Lucas Black).

Really wonder where they're going with 8. I hate that they had to kill off Han and Gisele. Would have softened the blow of losing Paul a bit.

And once again, we care more about the death of a mediocre actor than we care about the deaths caused all around the world every day by systemic evil.
Our government literally kills innocent civilians in foreign countries with drone strikes and no one gives a fuck. People die on the streets every day as a result of inescapable poverty and no one gives a fuck. Kids die in foreign countries because they can't get medical aid and they're malnutritioned and no one gives a fuck. We have a completely uneccesary integrated system designed to raise and slaughter billions of animals per year in the most horrifying conditions so we can go to taco bell drunk and pig out at 3 in the morning, and not only do we not give a fuck, but we greatly participate in and encourage this activity and this system. This what is wrong with our culture.

I didn't enjoy it half as much as 6, but the ending was pitch-perfect, and I couldn't help but laugh at how ridiculous
the skydiving cars were.
My god.

Also, Dwayne Johnson's getting quite a knack for deadpan humor.

I watched F7 a couple days ago. The movie as a whole was ok. It was entertaining but the plot was rather meh. It seemed a little long as well. That said, who goes to a F&F movie for the plot, lol.

The end was very well done. Someone in the theater starting cutting onions during the
beach scene and when Vin and Paul drive next to each other and Paul pulls off.

Saw it Tuesday, disappointing to say the least but a fitting ending and beautiful tribute to close things off for Paul.

I would rate them as such 5 - 1 - 6 - 2 - 7 - 4 - 3

Hope they do better in FF8 - I liked Justin Lin's style and hope they bring him back too.

It occurred to me as I was watching 7 that I don't think I've seen 6. A lot of people have it rated highly so I will have to check it out. I watched 1 recently again (before I saw 7). Everyone is so young in it. The flashbacks in 7 show it too. Man, I feel old. Crazy that was 14 years ago.

I know I will probably be in the minority here but I really hope that the Rock is not in any more of these.
The Rock is great and all but he just seems to be the smiling look at me guy in all press situations and for some reason it irritates the shit out of me.
Loved him in the ring, and like him in these movies and a couple of others but there is just something that comes off....I don't know.
Just me.

Everytime I listen to that song I am just constantly reminded of the scene in the movie
Where the road splits at the end and Paul drives off.
Omg I was crying at that in the theater. ;_;

Not sure if it was intentional or not as it's in the IMDB trivia section
The final scene where Paul Walker's car veers off the main road onto a ramp is reminiscent of the Blue Angels who have one jet pull out of formation to honor a fallen comrade.

Just watched this. Now I understand why the Supra is white in Forza Horizon 2: Fast and Furious

I just want to cruise around in it with the end credits song playing.

So I totally binged on all seven movies this past week, brought back so many memories since the first movie was released when I was in high school.

The ending to 7 was just so sad, I still can't believe it. Part of me thinks the series should end right there but I'm also interested in seeing where they go with 8, so we'll see what happens. That movie is going to be so weird without Paul Walker in it.

Also played through the Forza Horizon spinoff in one shot, lots of really nice nods to the movies throughout the game, especially with the achievement names. Putting the white Supra in the game was a really nice touch (I thought for sure they would have put Paul/Brian's green car from the first movie in there somewhere but no dice.)

I can't remember if I already posted this or not but nevermind.

When I saw the ending, I thought Dom had just imagining Brian being there, pulling up at the junction and driving alongside him before veering off. But then we came out and everyone I was with disagreed with me. Did anyone else think the same or am I just wrong?

So... I can't be the only one....
that was basically waiting for Walker to die all movie and then surprise he doesn't? I mean.... yeah, I'm glad the movie ended the way it did but I was all hyped up. Is it this time? Does he got shot in the back? Does a car fall on him? Is it now?!?!?!!?

Anyways... great flick.

Drifters Ranking:
1 > 5 > 2 > 6 > 7 > 4 > 3

I remember hearing somewhere that they wanted to honor Paul's memory in the film, so I didn't expect them to kill him off. Especially when you consider how he died in real life it would have been bad taste to do the same in the movie. They did the right thing here

Late response but Paul Walker is a philanthropist, and he has taken actions because he gives a fuck about those problems.

That's also why people are mourning. Whoever wrote that should do more research.

The movie itself was kind of on the meh side, your usual action flick with nothing much surprising and special. I don't like how it fully favors action over racing, can't remember even one cool race in the entire movie. Even the Lamborghini was just used for action :/

Still, the tribute at the end was extremely well done. Felt like it alone justified my time spent on the movie.

Just saw it for 2 bucks at a local full-service theater.

Started out thinking, "This is much better than expected", but that lasted, maybe, 15 minutes. Then it was just absurd and kind of bad. I'm all for dumb-fun movies but this could have been so much less dumb and just as fun. The script! Seriously, lmao. Who wrote that shit? Why do we need to make the Rock talk like he's in a wrestling match? Weird ass cinematography, like rotating action cams during heart-to-heart cell phone conversations. And did they have to bring back the redneck from Tokyo Drift for a cameo? He looks the same and he acts the same (which is to say, poorly).

I think there were a few, big scenes that could have easily been made SOMEWHAT believable and ended up being totally unbelievable, for seemingly no reason.

Also, too many one-liners.

Being able to drink during probably made it better, but on a scale of 0 to 5 farts (0 being the best and 5 being the worst), I give it 3.5 farts.

Cause he is the Rock

You roody poo candy ass

Edit: fix spelling

Mediocre movie. The only good scenes were Statham leaving the hospital (for the lulz) and his fight VS The Rock, really intense.

I expected better, even from a brain dead blockbuster standpoint.

Movie was so dumb, yet so awesome. I was cracking up most of the time but I loved it. I still can't believe the rock
flexed out of his cast, stole an ambulance, jumped it over a bridge and destroyed a drone, then took the turret from the drone and walked all the way to vin diesel and shot down a helicopter
.

Fast 5 is still the best of the bunch. Furious 7 is disappointing, its over the top to stupidity and lacks any pacing to build intensity during the action. A lot of it is simply dumb and it relies on Cg far too much.

Hopefully fast 8 tones it down and the action keeps you on the edge of your seat. Just making things explode more doesnt make better action.

Oooh. I get it. So some of these movies were prequels. I wonder if they planned on doing that.

Basically what happened is Justin Lin (the director of 3, 4, 5, and 6) really loved working with Sung Kang (Han). They had worked together previous to this franchise. Lin had no autonomy during the filming of 3, as it was his first major film and confidence was low in the franchise at the time, and Han died in the script. Then 3 did moderately well critically (and did more than broke even commercially) and Universal renewed Lin for more films. Since he had more pull within the franchise at that point he was able to bring Kang back, under the premise that the following movies with Han alive would predate 3 in canon.

Think I lost interest in the franchise with this movie. The ending was perfect though, should have been the end to the franchise.

Needed more scenes like the one where
walker and tyrese pull off the double drift in unison to pass the new girl between cars
and less (boring) dramatic scenes involving Rodriguez.
