GAF confessions: I never beat Ninja Gaiden

Ninja Gaiden for the NES....that shit was hard. I didn't beat it either. Got to the second to last boss and failed.

BLOODY MALTH!!! Jacquio's second in command! Yeah, that really is one of the hardest games, even though Ninja Gaiden III craps on it in terms of difficulty.

I never beat DMC4 past that three headed dog. I think it was the first boss, just gave up. Also never beat Final Fantasy VII, got to the part were you pretend to be a soldier. Since I knew about "the spoiler of spoilers" I never gave it a shot. Maybe I will someday.

I played about 30 minutes of Okami and haven't touched it since.

Same. :P But that was because I also had FFXII at the time. Gonna play through the Wii version though.

I got to the part where
ryu turns purple and is sick or something
which i think is very near the end, and I haven't picked it up since. I think there's only a level or 2 left for me to do. I need to get my ass in gear and finish that shit.

the worms are easy, you just need to figure out their pattern and know when to jump, if I remember correctly.

i played morrowind for countless hours with multiple characters (200+ hours at least) but i never nearly finished the mainquest line and it still was fun

GAF Confession....

I never played a game from the Onimusha series.

Don't hijack this thread and hide behind the fact your an Onimusha pussy, open your own thread so we can all fuck you up there!! ;-)

I am currently playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma as it got my purchase over Devil May Cry 4.... YES I SAID IT... flame me all you like. I'll get Devil May Cry 4 when im god damned ready!!!

Perseverance is key, don't give up die before you submit!!

Do not be a Ninja Dog... be a Ninja GOD!!!

I usually just equip the giant axe and stay at the edge of the ground at either side while charging up. Release as soon as the worms charge you. Sometimes you get hit, sometimes not....but easy.

I beat NGB on Very Hard :D

Oh yeah, and I've never gotten past the 'first' boss in Dead Rising in the foodcourt. I ran out of ammo despite getting at least a dozen head shots, and nothing reaches the platform he runs around on above you, so I wasted hours just getting sniped by machine gun fire and knocked over by grenades (replenishing my health with all of the food items) before I just turned the game off and made it into a coaster.

Haven't beat Sigma yet and yes I've referenced gametrailers on defeating some of the bosses (ashamed but true).

Haven't beat any of the Final Fantasy games (too impatient) but I have everyone of them since VII. The cases look great :)

PEOPLE - stick to the worms. How the fuck do we beat these worms?

Its been a while since I've played it but from what I can remember:

Watch them closely, they'll telegraph what they're about to do pretty clearly. They'll either spit balls of lightning at you (keep rolling left and right to dodge) or one will come crashing down at you. When one comes crashing down, wait till the last moment and do a roll to pass right through its attack (you get invincibility during a roll). Try and roll in a direction that leaves you right next to it after its attack, then beat on it with your best combos. The tricky part is that if you dont hit it quick enough after your roll it'll retract, but once you get the first hit in it'll get stunned. Its all timing really, nothing fancy required.

edit: beatened

I've only done a few levels on single player. My gf and I have torn up the co-op though. Only a few rainbows left to go!

I have a love/hate relationship with games.

Earthbound made me quit console gaming. I bought a SNES just to play it because the commericals made it look like the player would have a lot of freedom. It turned out to be a route exercise in hard determinism so I sold the game and the console.

I sat out the N64/PS1 gen because the graphics were atrocious.

My brother tried to get me back into console gaming by buying me a PS2 for my birthday along with Metal Gear Solid 2 and Okage. They sat in my closet unopened for almost two years.

I finally bought a GameCube in 2003 after reading an article about how obsessed the students at DigiPen were with Animal Crossing because of the degree of freedom it gave the player. It turned out to be a fetch-quest heavy interior decorating sim, and I was ready to sell the GameCube when one fateful night shortly before Xmas I decided to buy P.N.03. Then came REmake and Devil May Cry and Onimusha 2. The love returned.

Funny how a sexed up 3D Berzerk could change everything. Actually I think more than anything Capcom finally found the plot again after spending most of the 90s milking Street Fighter. Capcom's always been the one company I have a diehard love for.

20 hours play time, 6 rainbows...
Jag ar serios :(

You are completely forgiven for doing this, as it's totally a correct way to play Morrowind, imho.

To contribute: I never beat Ninja Gaiden either. I own Sigma but haven't even put it into my PS3 yet. I have full intentions of beating it before NG2 comes out, as I love the series.

Confession: I hate Skies of Arcadia.

Oh wait, that's not a confession, that just means I'm not a fucking retard.

Even though I have multiple systems, read reviews, import, advocate obscure titles, etc... at the end of the day I mostly play College Hoops 2K_. I have played some iteration of College Hoops 2K at least 300+ hours over the last four years.

I get excited about countless new games; and 90% of the time I buy the game, get sick of it, and sell it on Ebay within two weeks.

i knew somebody around here was a big pn03 fan. i think i'm gonna try and snag a copy at the mall this evening.

Just bought NG Black from the XBL Marketplace the other day. Plan on beating it within the next week or so.

Already passed the horse boss, and it's easy so far, imo.

Quiet U.

Anyway, I never beat Ninja Gaiden either. Not because it was too challenging, but because my damn save file kept getting corrupted from having to send in my 360. I'll go through it before Summer hits though. Gotta do that before NG II hits.

I bought the game 3 times over a period of 3 years. First time I got stuck when you have to fight the stupid ass eyeball fiend right after the 2 red dragon things. Then it was the giant dragon skeleton. I finally beat the game the third time around, though alma took me around 3 days to beat. I'm glad I stuck with it.

Hell, not only did I not beat Ninja Gaiden, I lost interest in it after the first 3 areas or so. It's not that i found it boring, it just hit when I was in the throes of my love for Socom and well, Socom won out.

Ninja Gaiden was not really that hard to me, anyone here play Mick and Mack: Global Gladiators? now that is a hard game.

It should be dirt cheap. The one thing I'd say is that it's not designed to be played like a standard 3D action game. When you turn your character, there's a lot of inertia. That forces you to rely on your character's jumping mechanics to navigate through traffic. You know how Mikami is; he loves unorthodox control schemes that limit the player's movement and forces them to try a new approach.

If you're okay with that and you like arcade shooters, I think it's worth a look.

ooo confessions. Well, I never actually beat ANY game until I made myself play/beat Halo3 on my roomate's 360 because of all the hype about the series from everyone. Idk I just always enjoyed the multiplayer aspects and never wanted to sit down by myself and try to win. Of course that view has completely changed since the excitement of beating Halo, but I still require any game I purchase for now on to have multiplayer too.

Holy fuck, that's the exact same place that stopped me. Fucking worms. Anyone have any tips? I too would like to redeem myself.
Weird, I stopped there as well. Although I might not be good as I think I am, since I had about 9 health potions going into the Alma fight and I used all but one.

I have one too, I bought Sigma and never beat it......and here's where the confession gets good. The only reason I didn't beat it is because I really didn't like it.

I haven't finished the Orange Box yet. Finished Portal and HL2, but am currently about half-way through Ep1. I'm sloooooowly working my way through it, and I really like it but I'm just really addicted to Halo 3/COD4 online.

The worm bosses are easy if you know where in the room to stand. After that, only one of their attacks actually has a chance to hit you. If you're in the area with one worm, then the place you want to stand is to the left, against the wall, at the edge of the platform. If it's the area with the two worms then stand to the right, against the wall and at the edge of the platform. The worm's lunge attack will miss you and its water electricity thing has no effect. The only way it can hit you is with the electrical bolt that it throws at you but that's easy enough to roll away from.

I've only played those parts of mgs1 which are covered in both metal gear awesome videos. I lost interest after that because I died a couple of times and didn't have all the equipment.

I played about 3 hours of Twilight Princess and stopped playing it...months pass and I restart my save only to stop at the ~4 1/2 hr mark and vow never to play it again. I doubt I'll ever appreciate a mainline Zelda again unless some changes are made. One of my top 5 favorite console series as a kid, too

I had a love/hate relationship with the death penalty in FFXI (It's aggravating but makes advancement more of an accomplishment). Guess I'm a Masochist.

Final Fantasy IX was the first Japanese RPG I've ever completed.

I loved Sunshine and Luigi's Mansion and honestly do not understand the hate.

You are missing out on the best experiences my friend.

I never beat Ninja Gaiden either, although I love it.

Just before the end I put the game down for a few months. When I picked it up again I was at the bit where you re-fight all the bosses. Normally, fighting bosses is OK because I just try again and again until I figure out the trick or pattern. But I'd forgotten the bosses so I'd fight through a couple and die while trying to figure out the trick on a particular one. It took way too much time so I never finished it :(

Strangely enough, I finished Ninja Gaiden without much difficulty. The boss battles were always the hardest parts of the game, but they all had a certain weakness which became apparent after a couple of (sometimes many) tries.

I remember beating it and The Chronicles of Riddick back-to-back during the holidays. One of my best gaming sessions ever...

I never beat Ikaruga.....,I suck so much...
Well compared to Ikaruga Ninja Gaiden is a children's game. I could only beat Ikaruga on normal by unlocking unlimited continues. Stage 4 & 5 are just ridiculous. I could deal with the first 3 but god damn at 4 & 5.
