The fact that most apparently totally forgot about Allison Rapp getting thrown out to dry by Nintendo under pressure by her harassers isn't really unexpected but still a bummer.
Forgot? I thought all mention of that was either excised through post deletions or buried in locked threads.

I could see FF XV being on a "Biggest Disappointment" list, but the 5th Biggest failure of the year? A bigger failure than Battleborn?

For everyone whining about FFXV, here's how the list looks if you go by % of total vote:

1. NMS - 49%
2. Palmer - 21%
3. Mighty Number 9 - 7%
4. Street Fighter V - 4%
5 - Final Fantasy XV - 2%

6th place is about 2%, 7th is 1%, and every other place after is well under 1%.

Yeah people need to apply better quantitative thinking when they look at results like these.

Though honestly I wish I had seen the thread so I could have included FFXV in my vote too lol

Worthy winner but not a lot of imagination further down the list. Nintendo somehow escaped a dreadful year with federation force, star fox 0 and the Wii U collapse in general with barely a mention.

I see my vote for "people who thought No Man's Sky would be good" didn't get counted. Where's Jill Stein when you need her?

Don't get upset about FFXV folks, it'll perform well when the GOTY voting thread comes around.

And here's to my three brethrens who also voted for Firewatch's ending. It is the crappy resolution that binds us.

2015's Winner--Konami

Will hand the trophy over to-
No Mans Sky

Why is Todd Howard getting thrown under the No Man's Sky bus of failure? Did he defend the game or something?

I mean, clearly most thought No Man's Sky was much worse in the voting thread.
The hate for NMS (and Sean Murray in particular- shame on three of you) on here is beyond tedious now. MN9 was arguably worse, given the crowdfunding, delays, mediocre and buggy game and the cynical attempt to spin a franchise out of it before it was even finished.

NMS winning over Palmer Luckey is like EA winning worst company over Bank of America. Abysmal lack of perspective.

What's with the hate behind FFXV?

A select group of whiny fucks who have been whining about every aspect since day one.

The game has problems, there's no arguing there, but there's constructive criticism and there's nitpicking.

Just read up on how many people threw a tantrum over the recently added New Game Plus, despite it doing exactly what it says.

this is quite the tantrum you are throwing over people not liking a game

Meh, Palmer Luckey did the worst thing yes but I still voted for NMS because I see it as gaming fail of the year. What Luckey did didn't have much to do with the industry itself. I'd absolutely vote for BoA over EA as worst company though.

Anyway kinda related but when does the GOTY voting thread go up?

dude you're getting aggressively angry because 15 people on the internet didn't like a game you like -- please refrain from characterizing other people as whiny fucks throwing tantrums

That's a better suited Outlook considering it's gaming related poll. I think I voted Palmer too.

Federation Force and Star Fox aren't in the same league as MN9 or NMS. Plus I can't really see how you can consider the Wii U's slow death a fail, it's not like they could much about it at this stage.

I will say, I was expecting at least to see Nintendo's treatment of fan projects at 5th or 4th. That's still pretty terrible and one of the actual cases of Nintendo genuinely being "out of touch"

As usual, this results are more driven by either emotions or hype(anti-hype), more than anything.

The fact that a relatively average game that some felt over promised aspects and failed to deliver (but still gets updates adding and fixing aspects), won by nearly half the votes over a guy that made racists remarks and who the company basically put inside a bubble not allowing interviews to him or anyone that works to him....

That FFXV even made it there...or that Paper Mario got votes...

Then again the amount of voters was not that high, so votes would be more focused on some sides.

But I mean.
The situation at Crytek is a fail.
United Front Games shutting downs is a fail.
What happened to Lionhead and Fable...
Disney Infinity ...

Yet, none got mentioned.
Studios closing, people without jobs, good game franchises now been on hiatus because of that...but No Man's Sky gets the most vote, because lol Sean Murray (who also got individual votes).

How did the CSGO Lotto scandal only gather 4 measly votes? People are quick to forget.

Yup. This is on the people who bought it.

I'm sorry you didn't like a game neogaf...but the prerelease and release coverage was there to tell you what it actually was rather than some hype speak from the devs.

So surprise at MMS "winning" here. I just got FFXV delivered so I will see what it is like over the weekend. It cannot be as bland and monotonous as Pulse in FFXIII.

I think Battleborn gets a pass for being so far out of sight, out of mind. It came and went at light speed.

It's a video game forum. Everything discussed on the gaming side could be dismissed this way.

Palmer Luckey isn't a particularly high profile person, and his offense was not gaming related.
