GAF I've made a huge mistake, I ate Taco Bell (not a joke)

I also have a fear of vomiting (haven't thrown up since I was like 11 years old), so I feel you OP. When I'm in your position I just lie in bed with a bottle of water next to me and try to sleep it off/ride it out.

You are already fed.

You should poop

Your stomach doesn't agree with Taco Bell, probably because you're a socialist (citation needed?)

Before you go to bed tonight, make sure you call your family to tell them you love them. Just in case.

If you did not drink Mountain Dew that is where you went wrong. Taco Bell needs Mountain Dew to be properly digested.

You guys made laugh out loud for real, thanks.

Fear of vomiting? Some times vomiting is the best solution to feeling better.

I totally know where he's coming from. One time, when I was very little, I remember getting sick at school and projectile vomiting like 5 times in a row in class. It felt like my insides were burning up. I was trying to rush to the bathroom, but I could only take a couple of steps before blowing chunks again Afterwards, I didn't feel better. I felt incredibly embarrassed and exhausted. I just wanted everything to end. I never wanted to experience that again.

If you had food poisoning. You'd be shitting and vomiting. You have a stomach ache because your body doesn't have the resistance/bacteria in your tummy to break down taco bell. You don't just jump into taco bell. Fool.

As others have said, you're literally dead.

This is why I eat luke warm food, and 711. I can eat anything. Even raw oysters from hole in the wall mexican joints. With that said, taco bell is good going down, but still gives a fight coming out.

Right. You would know if you had food poisoning. When you have it there is no question in your mind of, "Is this food poisoning?" You sweat like your are on a psychotropic vision quest and you just want to crawl into bed and ride it out, except you can't leave the toilet while you have to hold a mop bucket because its coming out both ends simultaneously. That is food poisoning.

Also I think its the hot sauce that gives people the fabled taco bell shits. My spouse loves taco bell so I eat there once or twice a month. Never had an issue 'til I tried the hot sauce.

The lies in this thread.

Taco Bell is god tier fast food. Jack in the Box is the only competition.

In all seriousness, I doubt you have food poisoning. If you aren't conditioned to eat the fruit of the gods, well, it'll hit ya.

wait so you eat taco bell and then 6 hours later you feel nauseous?

are you sure it's not the gas attack coming out of your ass(taco bell will do that...so I guess it really is taco bell's fault)

also your body can't handle the massive duece that will be coming out of your ass

Can happen anywhere. I love the regular chicken sandwich at BK. Used to eat it a lot back in the day. One time I got sick. I don't eat fast food much anymore but when I do I can't get that. I'm still scared and it's silly. I kinda miss it. Maybe it's nostalgia at this point.

I too despise vomiting but sometimes it really is the quickest and best solution. You trigger it, you're in control, rather than sitting there dreading it will happen and having to run to the toilet when it does.

That said, dimenhydrinate is great for nausea. Basically it's the common ingredient in motion sickness pills. Will also make you drowsy/sleep which is great. It's my go-to along with some form of antacid. Pop those and nap it off. Usually does the trick. Water usually helps as well but not always. It may be better to just have nothing at all for a while. And yes, gas buildup can cause nausea as well. Poop would handle that. =) Probably the case here, especially if you're not used to carry fast foods, spicy foods etc.

When I'm really nauseous I try to think of something that makes me feel good. For whatever reason that's watermelon for me. Don't move. Don't close eyes if dizzy feeling occurs and think happy thoughts! If it's food poisoning ain't much you can do. It'll come out one way or another, most likely both simultaneously. Doesn't usually last too long though. Much better than a serious virus.

I drank baja blast.

Update 2: Pain and lightheadedness is gone, now minor nausea. I apologize for being a baby about this, it's just how I am when I get anxious.

All the BS people spread about Taco Bell just scared you into a mild psychosomatic nausea. You're like the kid in high school who smokes weed for the first time and calls 911 because they're dying.

You'll be fine, OP. More importantly, you'll be back.

If I eat there again, and that's a pretty big if, at most I would have a single hard taco.

Stay by the bathroom, wear old boxers while sleeping (you'll know) and don't eat oily food.

You'll feel like hell tossed you up and down for two days.

This is the most pathetic wimp lord thread. "Dear Neogaffers, I've eaten at a place that serves millions everyday." You got hit with a sodium bomb. Ride it out, take a dump and learn what real food poisoning is when you actually get it.

Food poisoning in my world: Eating some shady chicken on a small Asian island, feverishly puking and shitting all night long, wondering if you are going to die.

Food poisoning on GAF: A mild nausea after eating at a fast food restaurant.

Yep, I had some serious food poisoning early this summer (My fault, drank like 5 Hershey strawberry milkshakes at night on an empty stomach) and was vaguely wondering if killing myself would be easier. Didn't eat for two days, tried and failed to sleep and when it did was woken up to...yeah.

Sometimes you just gotta puke that crap up.

I recently started a new job, and thought I scored it big with a free coffee machine in the break area. Drank like 4-5 cups of stale ass machine coffee on my 2nd day and ended up feeling like shit for several hours after getting home.

I didn't feel better until I finally just forced myself to puke it all up. Then I went on to play several hours of Destiny.

I've had real food poisoning and stomach viruses before, don't make assumptions about other peoples lives.

Call me a wimp all you want, but like I said in the OP, I have an extreme fear of vomiting, so I tend to freak out whenever I get nauseous.

I hate vomiting too. With my anxiety, the furst thing to go is my stomach and that includes vomiting. Despite that I do everything I can to not vomit, I cant even remember the last time I did vomit, probably because I fight it, but yeh I seriously hate throwing up.

I totally understand what the OP is talking about. I've had a fear of vomiting basically my whole life as well. Throwing up is just not a fun experience and I absolutely hate it.

In fact, 10 years ago, I had a stomach flu where I threw up three times. For 6 whole years after that, I didn't throw up once. After 6 years, I had another stomach flu and threw up twice. It's been 4 years since then and I haven't thrown up once these last 4 years. So basically, for the last 10 years there have been only TWO instances where I was throwing up. Crazy, right?

I hope that you have enough toilette paper ready.. And better to hold up to your toilette swat, because you will go off like goddamned Space Shuttle.

Food poisoning would happen within 30-45 minutes after you ate. Not six hours later.

That's not saying you couldn't have gotten sick from the food, but food poisoning is basically reacting to bacteria toxins in the food. Someone could have been getting over a cold or GI bug and coughed in your food, or hell maybe they weren't even showing symptoms and didn't know and accidentally contaminated your food. That's not true food poisoning though, that's just catching a bug.

Edit: And yeah like others have said, you'll know if you have food poisoning. It can be a little different for different people, but TRUST ME. You'll know. Lol
