Thanks!
Camera Nikon D7000
Exposure 13 seconds
Aperture f/14.0
Focal Length 12 mm
ISO Speed 200

It was 95 degrees that day and there was a heavy fog rolling off of the lake (this was at 5pm). That is why the sky/lake are all blended into one.

I would love to have your input about my site since it's photography related. I cannot decide on the color scheme. I've completely gone in a different direction from my online portfolio. It will now be a site with several dedicated photographers located around the world. So I'm deciding between white and black. It's currently black and my thinking was that it would be better to view photos against a black background. However, the photos in each post are going to be capped at 660px wide with a full resolution version residing in the "Gallery" with a light box. So the background distraction caused by the white isn't going to be as much of a problem as I once thought. I generally like a white color scheme for websites because I like the clean, bright look but that's my personal taste. I would like to get some other input on this. So which version do you like best?

I like white... The black scheme just reminds me of those old free websites that everyone and their mother had. Not dissing your design, it's just that as photos will be embedded in the same design and so gives me that impression.

Feeling like I'm getting the hang of Lightroom. It's probably overprocessed, and I don't really like the expression, but the 135L produces a nice background blur...

White, imo, it makes it more classy and professional looking.

I like more the white one, it makes it look more classier, because the black makes it seem like a blog, you should try a blue navy or a red wine just to try it out how it looks.

I went to the beach too!

Total noob here. Been shooting for a little over four weeks now so be gentle.

I always like this kind of geometric architectural photography, although they're more effective with some room to breathe (like on their individual Flickr pages) otherwise it becomes very chaotic and overwhelming. You've got some lovely blues, whites and greys in there.

@Prentice: Awesome photos, I like very much architecture shots and yours are very well done, you should put your flickr account to see them better, keep it up, you should go to the GAF PHOTOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT "CORRIDORS" and submit your photo, you may win.

@Ogs: Love the color on your photos.

@TheWiicast: Loving the first picture, whats your flickr account?

@sarcastor: I love me some food porn hehehehehe, greatly taken the photos!

Recently traveled to Turkey to visit some friends. The post processing is a little heavy handed. This was my first time using Lightroom.
Loved your photos, but i would love to see them with their original colors just to see the true colors, but don´t worry about it, i love the work you have done, eventhough i am no pro at it i am too just starting on taking photos.

Awesome pics, everybody. I have always loved photography and I've been inspired to get back into it. I have a very solid DSLR and have started shooting but am looking for advice on decent photo blogs or books re techniques, etc. Any advice? As an fyi, my camera is a Nikon D5100 (got a great deal that I couldn't pass up).

I hope to be able to contribute to this thread sooner rather than later.

Are the pictures in this thread manipulated in Photoshop?

Most photographers use some level of Photoshop/retouching. Some more then others. There's a mixture in this thread.

@Gabyskra: Love your pictures of the zoo, what was your equipment?

Canon 550D with the 135mm L f2. I just love that lens. I've been saving money for what feels like forever in order to buy it... It's hard to tell with small pictures on a forum, but I'm amazed every time I look at a 100% crop. It's so detailed.
