Damn excellent idea really. I have followed the whole Slender Man-thing forever, and would love to be a part of creating something equally or more disturbing.

If I remember correctly, the whole Slender Man thing started in a thread where they photoshopped and created their own Paranormal stuff just for fun. One guy created a couple of photos and "reports" on a slender, spiderlike man (who could be seen in backgrounds of pictures).
Everyone loved the whole idea, and started to collaborate in various ways to create a whole mythos around it.

It was basically a spurr of the moment thing, that turned into something enormous and awesome.

Pretty much. I'm addicted to that original thread right now, page 22 or 23 I think. All kinds of creepy pics and stories that are legitimally eerie despite being blatantly false. Perhaps because the nature of the so-called "Slender Man" strums a chord deep, deep inside a lot of people (myself included).

That movie gives me the Silent Hill vibes, which I am a big fan of (Funny thing is I have yet to see the film based on the Silent Hill games). I love stuff like this, every now and then a new thread pops up like it. I read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bunny_Man that in the other recent one and it's funny we have a place just like that near our house with a very similar legend.

I read the cave story and it was very well written, the end was a bit predictable, but it leaves a lot for the imagination. I was thinkin of gettin a couple friends and going to haunted places around the area just to see what it's like.

There's a local legend from my town surrounding "Green Man".

Was featured on some shitty "Real Scary Stories" or whatever on ABC Family during the 13 Nights Of Halloween. Here are some links. I live literally 5 minutes away from his "tunnel".

Also, there is a tunnel literally right next to it referred to as "Corvette Tunnel". Not much is known other than the story that was tossed around my school when I was younger, couldn't find any links other than a summary of the tale:

Apart from [REC], I recommend The Nameless from Jaume's filmography. Darkness and Fragile are quite good, but IMO they're not on the same level.
