GAF, Sell me on XBOX One..

If OP has a gaming PC, then it makes sense for him to eliminate games available on it as "selling points" for an XB1, no?

Couldn't you really say this about both consoles? People point out the XB1 was being weaker with 3rd party games, but if you have a good PC so are both consoles.

My XB1 probably gets the most play out of both of my consoles, behind my PC. I prefer the controller and imo it currently has a better group of excluisves.

Op if you like motion games, play Fantasia, it's great. Titanfall has a better more active community (I have it on both PC and XB1), D4 is unique, Sunset Overdrive was great, both Forza games are good, Rayman is currently free, and I prefer a lot of the apps over the PS4 version.. especially the NHL app

Have some of the XB1 games come out on PC? Yes. Dead Rising was supposed to be a technical nightmare on PC, I enjoyed it on my XB1, and Ryse was put out. I played through it on my XB1 as well, but PC sounds like the better choice if you can run It.

If you can afford it and see yourself enjoying the exclusives, by all means pick one up. I wouldn't pick on up solely for Halo or the MCC collection, but I also never put 1000s of hours into the Halo series like others have.

Killer Instinct looks nice and fun
They seem really committed to significantly improving the system and adding features on a monthly basis

I don't have an Xbox One, so that's about all I've got. I have no idea if Sunset Overdrive is good or not.

I like my XB1, but if you already have a PS4 I probably wouldn't bother. I would imagine that PS4 + WiiU would get you a much wider choice of games than PS4 + XB1 (OP mentions Wii but not Wii U).

I don't know how to respond to this, did you even read the OP? :p

This is some subjective stuff right there. This comes down to what the OP would like to use, there are enough people who prefer the PS4 OS. Also, doesn't the PS4 OS function good enough or something? I don't know because I only use my PS4 to play Destiny from time to time.

Yeah I guess some people seem to prefer that the PS4 is so barebones and to the point in addition to it being bit quicker to get around the OS and install games.

I feel like you're all confirming to me why I don't have a Xbox One. haha. The current exclusives look pretty weak if you have a gaming pc.

Get a WiiU. Ton of great games.

Did they ever fix the sprite issue that Disgaea 3 had? I could care less about graphics but the ugly SD sprites over HD backgrounds was incredibly distracting and I couldn't get through it.
D2 was full HD, so I imagine 5 will be.
Disgaea 3 and 4 both did the sprites though you are right.

He mentioned owning a Wii in the OP, I'm pretty sure he was referring to WiiU.

Could be wrong though.

Yes of course. However PS doesn't have nearly as much PC crossover, and Nintendo has even less than that (none!), so they don't come up as much when talking exclusives.

If you're looking just to get another console, I would look at a WiiU or 3DS before getting an XBox One. You already have a PS4 and a PC allowing you to play a vast majority of the XBO's library on another platform. There might be 2 or 3 exclusive XBO games a year you're insterested in that aren't on anything else so you won't get a lot of use over its life. I'd say diversify your gaming platforms instead of doubling down in a space you already have well covered.

You can always get it much later in its lifespan and get everything much cheaper too.

I have every platform out there, PS4, Vita, WiiU, 3DS, Xbox One, and a PC. Out of all of of them my Xbox One gets the least game time because every other platform has different games or plays them better. (In most cases that is)

I don't believe a console is worth one game but Sunset Overdrive is insanely good. It was my GOTY
First posts nails it

I probably would not have gotten a xb1 if it wasn't for the great deal I received but do far Sunset Overdrive and Titanfall have been my favorite games fur this generation.

Like the person I'm quoting at full price for the console I would have been fine with my ps4 and WiiU

Who knows, there might be a console revision by the time the new gears of war comes out. I am sure a bundle like that would be enough to bring in most of those who have been undecided.

Seems like a useless thread to me. The OP comes across as nothing more than a "tell me of the virtues of this Xbox 1". Are they not easily searched for on this very forum? Why does he need to start such an inane thread? He/she owns every system under the sun and yet hasn't heard about the pluses/minuses associated with the Xbox 1? It boggles the mind that this nonsense just keeps going and going. How many more pages are we going to have on this thread? Everything that needs to be said was probably said on page 1.

Useless thread is a useless thread, news at 11. smh

It's a box that plays video games. Some of which you will love. It has Halo and will soon have Halo 5. Plus, you may have cross-buy with certain titles across PC and Xbox soon.

OP asks if buying a console is a good idea then vanishes, watching from afar as people murder each other.

D2 was full HD, so I imagine 5 will be.
Disgaea 3 and 4 both did the sprites though you are right.

Oh crap, didn't even know they redid 2 on PS3.

Hey OP, Day-One XB1 owner here, and I just wanna tell ya the XB1 is a helluva console. Phil Spencer has been doing an amazing job with Xbox since they kicked that fuck Mattrick to the curb.

The monthly update/feedback program is fantastic. Sunset Overdrive & Forza H2 are fantastic. Multi-plats look & play great. Awesome exclusives on the way, along with Win-10, cross-play, and DX12!

Personally, if I didn't already own two Xbox Ones, I'd buy the Halo MCC bundle. The multi-player is working great now and the remastered campaigns are phenomenal.

Have you thought about Microsofts new initiative to bring back PC gaming? Looks like a lot of MS's games will be on PC as well. Just something to consider.

Is there any exclusive that you must play?

Is there any game on your current platforms that you still yet to play?

Do you have the time and money to invest on all those games?

Do you have friends who play on xbox one?

I have a decent gaming laptop to play cheap old games from steam sales and some strategy games, a PS4 for more recent games, and a 3DS XL for Nintendo games.

I personally having a hard time keeping up with new releases. Haven't even touched the Majora's Mask 3D yet.

I got one last week for free ( won it in coding competition ), and I still don't know if I want to keep it. I already have a PS4 so I play multiplats on that. I also bought Titanfall at launch for PC.

Playing Rayman now since it was free for gold and I'm most likely getting Ori. Will also buy sunset overdrive if I find it for cheap.

Considering how the library is touted as being better than PS4, it seems quite barren, especially on the marketplace.

I can't. I hate mine. It's a piece of worthless shit. I only got one because I got a good deal and some of my friends got them and I thought it would be a good idea to play with my friends from the 360 era. I was wrong.

Solid game library. Enough said.

No matter what genera you like, Xbox One will cover you.

Fighting: Killer Instinct
Shooting: Titanfall, Halo MCC
Sim Racing: Forza 5
Sim/Arcade Racing: Horizon 2
Action Adventure: Sunset Overdrive

And EA Access

Not to mention all these games are 80+ MC and amazing.

I have an xbox one and a PS4. I use my PS4 pretty much every day. Ive played technically two games on my xbox one (MCC is technicially multimultiple games i guess). MCC has gotten better but it was broken for a while. Kinect doesn't work half the time and honestly it increases my frustration of using the console. I feel like the UI (while a lot better now) is still weird and hard to navigate without kinect. Though that may change soon with windows 10, im not sure. I don't find the console particularly more useful for non gaming things (youtube, netflix, hulu etc) than the 20 other devices I own that i could use. In fact, Ive watched a total of 4 blu ray movies on it and EVERY one of them skipped occasionally, could just be my xbox i don't know.

Im not saying don't get an xbox one, but I would suggest waiting to see if it gets better. Wait until there are some must have games for you and until after windows 10 launches on it.

Personally I don't find it to be a useful machine right now unless there are some exclusives on it you just have to play.

If it has a game or games you want to play and you can justify the purchase price, buy it.

Why do you think you need to be convinced? Genuine question.

I guess all the people complaining about the MCC being a mess haven't tried the latest update. The game is fixed, I haven't had any problems with it after the patch and hear the same thing from pretty much everyone else who has the game and installed the patch.

It's also possible they gave up trying after 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 4 months, oh 5 months.

At least 3 of them are scheduled to come out this year so it is relevant.

Which 3 are those? I think only one of them is for sure coming this year (Tomb Raider), and one is rumored to be moving to 2016 (Quantum Break). The others are either not announced, or have had nothing but CG announcement trailers. Those are assuredly not coming out this year. See below. If you think even 3 of them are coming out this year, I think you're going to be sadly mistaken. I'd bet you'll get Tomb Raider, and that's it. (Forza and Halo 5 too, but those weren't bolded on this list.)

Gears hasn't even been officially announced, Crackdown and Scalebound are almost assuredly 2016 or later, and QB is likely 2016 as well if those rumours are true.

If I were OP I wouldn't bank too heavily on playing much in that list anytime soon. I'm sure most of them will be great games but they're a long way off.

You're better off waiting to see how Windows 10 push turns out. If they really are pushing more first party ports, i don't think i'll even touch X1 at all. This is if you're patient enough to wait longer for games.

I've actually lately been trying to decide if I want an X1 yet. I read a few of the details about the Win10 cross buy/streaming which has me really interested, but I still have one question, sorry if it's already been answered:

How deep into the Win10/X1 crossover is Xbox Live? Will I need to pay for it to enjoy common features, or just multiplayer paywalled off? I absolutely refuse to pay for another service since I already have PS+. Am I going to have a bad time in the new ecosystem without Live?

So it's wrong for people to buy a console for games that are out now + games that will be coming out in the future?

OP has PS4, PS3, Vita, Wii and PC. Under these circumstances, yes, i think it's wrong to buy a console for games that haven't been released yet instead of AFTERWARDS, when it will be cheaper, too.

Multiplayer will be free on PC. Streaming requires Gold iirc

I have a PS4 now and love it. I could never give up games like The Last of Us for Halo. However, someday I would like to own Halo 1-5 plus Halo Reach. The problem is XBOX Live. I do most of my online gaming on the PS4 and I don't think that's going to change. Add in XBOX Live and that's one yearly charge too many for what I get out of it. So I just can't see myself keeping both PS Plus and XBOX Live going at the same time. And Halo seems incomplete without multiplayer. It would take tons of exclusives or a few truely killer games to change my mind.
