GAF taste test: Pepsi or Coca-Cola

Coke, without a doubt. Pepsi is too sweet, and Mountain Dew is the only line that they offer that trumps Coke's line.

Coke

It has more carbonation while Pepsi is too syrupy.. If I leave a coke out for 2 hrs it still tastes fresh while a pepsi will be flat as all hell.

When it comes to drinking them straight, I don't care. Hell I rarely do. If I really want a soda, it's Dr. Pepper.

Same here. I hardly ever drink soda anymore, but I always like Pepsi more than Coke. I'll take Dr. Pepper over either of them any day though.

The only time Pepsi tastes good to me is if I'm eating at Pizza Hut, which, not surprisingly, is owned by the same company that owns Pepsi.

Otherwise, it's Coke all of the way. These days, Coke Zero to be exact. Funny how strange Zero tasted to me at first (though nowhere near as God-awful as Diet Coke), yet now it tastes "normal" to me, and regular Coke taste off.

Oh, I also f**king hate it when bars have Pepsi instead of Coke. They don't call it "Rum & Pepsi" for a reason, you know. I'd also like to know why EVERY Chinese restaurant (at least where I live) has Pepsi. I've been to other towns and seen Chinese places with Coke, but here in Omaha, no such thing exists.

Pepsi. I agree with the person who said that Coke tastes like flat Pepsi, that's how I always describe it.

I had RC Cola once and adored it. Unfortunately, they didnt' sell it where I was living. :(

My body is very happy that Diet Pepsi's flavor was recently improved. Tastes much better now so that's what I drink these days.

After you drink diet for a while, regular tastes crazy--like drinking pure syrup basically. I literally get nauseous just having a sip of regular when someone gives me the wrong drink, that's how sweet it tastes to me. All I can taste is the syrup.

That's no my problem. If I drink Classic from a can or bottle, it almost tastes... hmm, like it's old or something. I don't know, it's really odd. I know the difference you're talking about, but that's not it. However, if I drink fountain Classic, it's fine - maybe having to do with the different way in which it's produced.

Interesting note: South Australias biggest selling 600ml drink is not Coke like you'd believe. It is infact:

Coca-Cola used to taste better than Pepsi here, but then the companies that made them switched wheir colas so that the company that used to make Coca-Cola now makes Pepsi. And Pepsi tastes better.

I can't even tell the difference. Coke / Diet Coke / Pepsi / Diet Pepsi are all the same to me, or close enough for me not to care. I'm sure I could taste some difference given them side by side obviously.

Anyway, I'd prefer Irn Bru, like any self respecting Scot.

Dr.Pepper is the best, but Coke by a landslide. In all my years of living, I cannot recall actually seeing someone with a 12 pack of Pepsi in the fridge. I'm suprised they are still around.

Between Coke and Pepsi, it's always Coke. Pepsi is only tolerable to me from the fountain or with loads of ice to thin out the sugary taste. I'd put RC Cola ahead of Pepsi, too.

Better than Coke, to me, is IBC Cream Soda and Cherry Cola.

I usually hate to digress like this, but...

O_o I don't know if formulas differ wildly region to region, but you don't like Pepsi because it's sweet yet you like Mountain Dew?

Mountain Dew is like liquid candy (in a bad way)

Oh btw Pepsi for me, but I prefer Vanilla Coke over both.

Why is it when I try to type "coke" I end up with "cock" :( :/

Well, people look for different qualities in different types of drinks. I prefer Diet Coke to Diet Pepsi because it's richer and tastes less sweet, but I also like Diet Mountain Dew better than both. That's not inconsistent; that just means I don't like sweet colas but don't mind sweetness in some other types of soda. I do think your description of Mountain Dew is apt though, at least as it applies to DMD (it's been years since I've had regular MD).

Thanks. I always wondered what some Squeezins would taste like IRL. Probably better than Pepsi, anyway...

Well, if you're one of those confused souls living in the south that refer to just about any carbonated beverage as Coke, "Rum & Coke" is pretty inclusive.

Pepsi is a bit sweeter, I like sweet stuff. Coke is good too, especially cold, but has a slight bitterness in its aftertaste.
