Ha, made it in time! As opposed to the semifinals I notched Vampire Killer down a bit. Also I've decided to order the whole set this time to get my personal ranking on the finalists. This way I can vote on the final round without even thinking, too. Clever, huh? :lol

It's not worth to cry a river of songs that didn't make it. I've sometimes got the feeling that half of my favourites didn't make first round and the other half wasn't nominated, but who cares. Firstly it isn't true and secondly charts will always be "common denominator" like. I'd like to come up with some list of my favourites from the nominations and otherwise when all is over, but that could be laborious, so I'm still on the edge on that.

Halo and Mute City in the Top 20. Wow for bad taste. And the FF10 crap thing, oh my. At least One Winged Angel isn't in the list or else I would've pulled my hair out. And no Silent Hill :-( But I'm totally glad Buoy Base made the list. That was totally unexpected, I expected it to bomb like Theme of Laura which I hoped would fare much better.

Thank you for playing! Some comments:

- Gusty Garden dominated every round that it was in until the last few days, when Terra's Theme was actually beating it for a little while.
- Cheating was slightly more prevalent in the last few rounds than it was in the preliminaries. After accounting for double votes in Semifinal A, Stickerbush Symphony actually lost a whopping 100 points, but that still didn't keep it from placing well in every round.
- The Zelda overworld theme is the only track in the top 20 to not receive a single first place vote, yet it placed 5th overall.

The results are being posted late because I've been trying to finish putting things together for that slideshow I was talking about, but it's still not done. I want to finish it because ZealousD and a few others put in a lot of time helping me get material for it, but I'm wondering if anybody will care about it by tomorrow.

At any rate, I've had fun with this, despite a lack of variety in the top 100 finishers or so. I think that if I were to do something like this again (which I won't, not anytime in the near future), I'd limit the total number of votes per participant to 5 or 10 instead of 20 for the semifinals. I'm curious to see how the results would have changed if you eliminate the bottom 10 votes from every participant's list, and I might post an alternate results tally for that later today.

A solid top 20. I personally would not agree with Gusty Garden over Terra's theme, however, Gusty Garden is one of the most significant pieces of music to come from Nintendo in over 10 years.

Quite simple, it proves that Nintendo are capable of creating fantastic music, of high quality in their games, and that not doing so shows how much of lazy money grabbing fucks they are.

I simply want more.

People only voting for a handful of songs probably exacerbated the situation with the current voting system, but either way it would be difficult to get a system that everyone agreed on.

That's kind of the problem with this entire music battle, A ton of worthy songs didn't even make it to the voting booths.
