Religion and sexual orientation is both part of a person's most inner being. It's part of what makes people who they are. How they became like that is a bit of a red herring, it doesn't matter, that's who they are now. Just because they made a choice to become a muslim at some point during their life doesn't invalidate their thoughts and feelings towards a particular subject and it certainly doesn't make you any less of a jerk to mock them.

really? My cousin is a Christian. I bet you anything that if he were raised by a set of Muslim parents that he would be Muslim. If he were raised by atheist parents then...you guessed it! Likely atheist.

A gay person could be raised by anyone and still be gay and never straight even if forced to marry and have kids.

edit: I'm sorry, I skimmed over that part of your post saying that it doesn't really matter. A child could be raised to be a white supremacist and it could be part of his "most inner being." If that's acceptable then I guess it doesn't really matter.

I am going to pull the plug on this thread.

I think faith is good for debate like race problems are and have little problems with people expressing themselves as long as they don't attack. This is pretty boardline and just seems like poking fun at a group of people. Now I admit we have been lax about this on all sides of the board and really can't say that this is any worse than "Jesus lol" or whatever.. but I don't really like the tone that some of the posters are taking so this thread gets locked and if another gets started I am handing out one-way tickets.
