Game character you have sympathy for?

Ryu from Ninja Gaiden- His woman dies right before is eyes.
The cast of FF6.
Ryo from Shenmue.
Alys from PS4.
Nei from PS2.
AlisPS1.

Immediately came to my mind:

Dante, cause he's badass.
Raziel, cause he's a tragic badass.
Alys from Phantasy Star 4.

This thread reminded me of:
Drachma from Skies of Arkadia.

Roberto Bianchi in Eternal Darkness.

Gets thrown alive into a massive concrete pillar with hundreds of other screaming innocent people and then sealed in.

Tactics Ogre: It has some very sad scenes involved in the more depressing routes the story can weave down.

I'd post a picture of The Boss as well, but that's been covered.

Square-Enix should've made Tidus a female instead. Next time you play FFX, imagine that it's a girl who recites those whiny lines. It fits perfectly. :lol

His father was a drunken blitzball player with a pretty stupid, but still rough and charming attitude. Another possibility for Squeenix would've been to give him a similar personality. But no, we're stuck with an emo twat who's easily confounded with a Linkin Park fanboy. :/

QFT. He can never just stay at home and trip balls. He always has to go pick up his ho from her Castle because she's too lazy to learn how to drive. And then, just like a woman, she gets herself into trouble that Mario has to get her out of. So what does he do? He pops a few shroom caps, gets his pipe and kicks some ass.

Tingle. He gets picked on around here more than any other and he's never even ONCE gotten the one thing he most desires.

In a stroke of modern genius Square-Enix (and I guess Nomura) turned one of the most liked video game characters into Orpheus.

Cloud travels to Hades to search for his long lost love. His personal tragedy made the game for me. He's the most multi-layered character in any game to date.

On top of that I feel that the Orpheus mythology is very sympathetic as it shows one mans desperation. Something quite like it will never again surface in videogames, I believe.

are u serious?

I really find it hard to have sympathy or emotions for videogames characters. But I kinda felt bad about the girl trapped in the system in REZ. Max Payne was a good character too. He was kind of overwrought but he was still more interesting than Solid Snake who is a one trick pony

Shadow of The Collosus...

The Wanderer or whatever it's name, i kinda suffered it through with him somehow.
Also, i have no freaking explanation and this came as a total surprise: I was attached to Agro ALOT. Seriously i didn't realise Agro was a friend until
he fell into that pit
. Needless to say this scene took me completely offguard, i wasn't expecting it at all.
