GAME closes Xbox One Day One Edition pre-orders

It looks like they have completely sold out of XB1 and PS4. That is the only thing that matters. Looking at charts for unreleased products is never an exact science and I have no idea what an old newspaper article has to do with anything.

well maybe the poll at the bottom saying 79% prefer PS4 over XB1.

Also, guessing you didn't look at the thread I posted, that's about money down pre orders in the UK.

Your post is rather salty, you asked why I said UK is no longer xbox land, I gave you empirical evidence.

Now the only thing that matters is a sell out? well in that case, the xb1 day one edition isn't sold out as evidenced by the shopto posts in this thread but the PS4 is and looking at the charts sold out a larger allocation.

I like Sony products too.

Even thought I'm getting both because, I know this sounds crazy, I play...for..the...games? Who would have thought that? Anyways I'd pick a PS4 over a XBO the day I can play Halo and KI on the PS4. So to the people suggesting get a PS4 instead, they are missing the point. I mean these gamers have made the choice of picking up an XBO, they know it's a little bit more expesive.

My analogy would be to compare XBO simpathizers with smokers and the PS4 fanboys as the TRUTH guys. The smokers making a concious, knowledgable choice, 'cause I mean no one on earth believes smoke in your lungs is beneficial to your heath, but still their choice. They don't need the Truth guys getting all up in their business telling them don't smoke?

I still haven't pre-ordered any next-gen console. I can wait, and if they sell out, I'll wait a bit longer. GTA V, y'all.

Ordered mine after E3 too and what about GTAV? It comes out Sept. 17. It gives me at least 2 full months to beat it and take everything I want from it before the next gen launches.

I know a lot of gamers are just cheap, not calling you out or anything don't mean it as an insult, but I mean cheap because they can't spend a fair amount of money for the hobby they say they love. See 400 even 500 dollars as an inversion for a piece of hardware that will last you at least 5 years is a good investment IMO and sure the games are extra but you buy what you want and pay the price so that the developers get their due.But gamers are or have become really cheap people. They could sell us a PS5K for 1 buck and we would still complain.

My point in all of this is that, well, I have felt "burned" out of this gen for a while now. I knew this was the last year, but I was kind of feeling it for a while now. XB360 ending for me with Halo 4. I haven't felt compeled to even turn on the system since January at the least and that's okay with me. I got what I wanted and that was about 7 solid years of gaming. Now with the PS3 I've been having a blast for a bit longer, but I was just waiting for Last of Us and now GTAV, then it is over. Time for a new gen. I know I can;t be the only one who thinks this way. I've felt the new gen was incoming/needed since last year.

I really can't be bothered arguing with you so I will accept your months old newspaper poll and random preorder stories as proof that the UK is now Sony land. Glad that's sorted.

PS4 + FIFA14 still cheaper than an XBO tho, the game is a value add, but it doesn't even up the pricing

Maybe not. Depends on what you consider value. I have preordered (again, my preorders have been on and off again for all consoles but I finally made a deposit for an X1) at a local drugstore for 484 €. Plus I get 3 months Xbox Live Gold worth 20 € plus a copy of FIFA worth 70 €. So the console itself costs 394 €. Plus a potential ambassador program down the road. X1 is gonna be mostly a media hub for me.

Jesus Christ, don't bother with Skeff. Just read his post history and you find the definition of Sony fanboys.

Anyway I'm guessing the retailers will be up to old tricks again by making the consoles bundle only now. Shopto have started with day one edition.

Most likely close already (which is why I was bemused by the FIFA deal).

Amazon advised no longer guaranteed from August 15th, though did re-open for a short period but is now closed.
Zavvi advised no longer guaranteed from August 19th.
Very/Littlewoods advised no longer guaranteed from the 23rd.

It sounds to me like MS has already allocated stock levels to retailers and as they sell through their allocation each retailer is having to advise accordingly compared to the blanket 6th August cut-off Sony gave to all EU retailers.

I just preordered my X1 on the german Microsoft store hopefully i will have it on launch day given how microsoft warehouse is in the Netherland :(

If Microsoft release this before the PS4 in the UK now, Sony really fucked themselves in this market hugely.

The thing is though, the PS4 and the XB1 will both sellout in the UK this year. I don't think an early XB1 release will cause Sony any extra problems.

So anyone or4edering now is too late for free FIFA from GAME ?

Yep 1-2 weeks of extra sales sure will fuck up the whole generation in the UK.

And of course, since there's no reason someone might want to get an xbone other than Fifa, no one should buy this!

That's not what I'm saying at all. I think both the Xbox One and PS4 are great. But for those eager to play FIFA14 and FIFA14 only, the PS4 is the cheaper option. It's a shame that a marketing ploy will shroud that.

Don't worry the XB1 won't be getting any meaningful support for the camera, If any multiplat games use kinect, they'll probably have it as an option on the PS4 camera.

thanks for reading into the future what else can you tell us ?

I think people are overlooking a simple explanation. When Microsoft released details of their launch countries, they also revised the allocations of Day one editions. Nothing on any viewable metric at this time suggests the FIFA 14 deal has created significantly more demand.

Lets not forget, the FIFA deal was for consoles preordered before its announcement, not after.

Not to mention, hearing a console is sold out is the greatest marketing technique, both for hardware maker and retailer.

Unknown website posting rumours from unknow news source.

FUD basically.

It was too late when it was annouced. Preorders before August 20th only.

Perhaps I was a little rough with that one, fair point.

I didn't say it was Sonyland, I said it was no longer Xbox land, there's a huge difference.

UK is also a very price sensitive territory. All reports have consistently said PS4 is routing the XB1 in pre-orders, something like 4:1. Even putting aside the gap in release between PS3 and 360, it was the price that put the PS3 in the position it was in.

You guys are going to be very surprised at how the sales are month to month in 2014. And it's going to be all about the price as the reason.

God this sentence sounds so sad.

There was also a Sony PS4 enthusiast topic which was also locked, which Dunlop would never mention. He'd just say something like "every NeoGAF topic is a PS4 enthusiast topic, this is Sonyland." Persecution Complexes never end since the reveal.

I was responding to a question. Also,

(It has since been bumped up to Nov 20)

My annoyance with the driveby trolling is obviously because I am a MS fanboy and nothing to do with people not being able to discuss certain gaming topics on a gaming forum. I 100% believe that many "MS enthusiasts" no longer post here as a result which is a shame.

I currently only own a PS3, have about 13 months left on my PS+ account and a WiiU, I also love walking in the rain.

I will almost certainly own all of the consoles which is the norm for me and when I bitch about one it will be because of firsthand experience

On topic, NA really needs a free game or the value seems diminished lol
