Game Grumps (aka Egoraptor plays some games)

Dennis the Menace

oh my god, I am in TEARS at the rap

For some reason, I assumed this would be the English Beano version.

Finally took the time to watch all the Steam Train episodes and Castle Crashers that have been releases so far, and I really enjoyed them. I was hesitant at first due to other people's reaction but since I've grown to really like Danny on Game Grumps I decided to check out Steam Train and I've grown to like Ross a lot too.

Yeah, I've gotten "used to" Ross lately, and the Steam Train episodes are part of my rotation now.

I dont know about the rest of the episode but the rap at the end is just priceless.

I watched it again just to be sure and I audibly laughed, hard. Get out here. GET OUTTA HERE!

I was just catching up on their Mario Sunshine vids. Why is Arin so bad at games? Like he hates tutorials but can't figure out where to go after reading out loud that the lighthouse on the eastern beach is missing. Took 4 battles before he figured out he needed to spray the goop pirhana plants in the mouths.

And then towards the end he says that Sunshine was the last creative Mario game before Nintendo decided Mario was just goombas and koopas. Nevermind how ridiculous that statement is considering how much more creative Galaxy was than Sunshine, every new Mario game has had new enemies, including the New games.

So far I think Game Grumps has gotten better since Jon left. I liked the comedy Jon added, but since he left Arin and Danny have been more focused on the games rather than random discussions.

He was talking exclusively about enemies and presumably art design at that point. Galaxy is creative, but it falls back on a lot of Mario enemy tropes rather than crafting its own set of enemies and so forth. Sunshine just has tons of wacky new shit strutting about, while Galaxy you have GOOMBAS IN SPACE and so forth despite the setting allowing for any number of new alien hijinx. Coulda been a great time to revisit Mario Land enemies for instance.

Also yes, he is pretttttty bad at games, Dans been showing him up a lot. I dont see how Arin can make a new Sequelitus now his "skillz" are so well and visibly documented.

I don't see how Arin can make a new sequilitius now that he has shown that he can't figure out the basics of each game on his own before complaining a crap ton about how "I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!? THIS GAME IS TERRIBLE!" (Kirby's Super Star "Jon and Arin press X"... god that was awful). He's entertaining, but he's more than proved that most of his points about tutorials is bunk.

I think the REAL problem is that young people learn better and faster than older people... Arin's getting old and he just hasn't realized it yet. We've seen him fail by skipping tutorials and not reading manuals.

But that's not true.

These are the enemies Sunshine added:

The enemy they were discussing was a cataquack, which also appeared in Mario Galaxy, but was also essentially a new version of these guys from Mario 64:

Wow, I just watched Part 11... he died on Mecha Bowser...

Yeah, that is one manic video stream of consciousness. I'm not entirely sure where the Youtube Generation gets off pretending it can ever take 6 months to make a videogame review show because of reasons unless they have 9-5 dayjobs in the mix. Loved fast food truck guy unleashing the "here every night" truthbomb. Less time chips, more time Vegas/Premiere. "I don't know how to fill a screen with an image" is a fantastic start.

Meanwhile Arin sobbing from hot pepper reviewing is pure hilarity. The genuine look of fear in his eyes "what happens now... am I dying?"

Don't want to derail the thread but I can't stand the "Youtube Generation" as you put it and their elevating of mediocrity.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons - Game Grumps

O_O Had no idea about this game. Looks awesome.

It's incredible and easily the best game I've played this year. The only fault is that it's too short.

The comments section has confounded me on this video. I realize that the video description stated something about Microsoft partially sponsoring the Grumps to play it. However, did those people honestly not consider that in a couple weeks, Brothers will be a multi-platform game? The top-rated comment (now removed) was especially confusing. It stated Microsoft was trying to sell the Xbox One through this video. What the hell does Xbox One have to do with this at all?

It is funny that you mention this , because continue? Show's new episode this week is also Brothers and they also have a summer of games link in their description for the game.

People talking about the under-rated "Continue?" in this thread? Radical.

Anyways, it does seem this is a "Dead Space 3" thing all over again. Good episode again too, though.

So after watching a lot more of the new episodes, Danny was a great replacement for Jon.
Hell I think he's even surpassed Jon for me at this point. However they way they handled the switch was still pretty bad though. But it looks like a lot of the bad blood has been cleansed. Their video views seem to be significantly higher as of late.
Also the Dennis the Menace review is perfection.

There should be a Continue? thread. Why isn't there one?

They're still too underground for NeoGaf.
I seceond the motion that they need a thread

Make one. And make sure to mention that they're good friends of JonTron. I mean that's how I learned about them.

They do need more recognition. They're really underappreciated.

Yeah, those guys need more love. The "500 nautical miles" bit in Jaws Unleashed (and just the Epic Manuveur bit in general) is hysterical.

Rex Rogan: Experimental Surgeon is also great.
