Game Grumps (aka Egoraptor plays some games)

Knowing this, why did they think it would make for a good series to put up?

To be fair, they're probably sick of all of the hate they've gotten from Arin doing LOZ, so maybe this would take the edge off? DS2 is not as difficult as DS1, but they never played any souls games, so I imagine this being a 3-6 episode run. If it was Danny instead of Arin, I'd be more likely to stick around.

eh, danny had problems with shadow of the colossus, i don't think he can manage to play DS2. he's a nice guy i saw a couple of his video but to me he sounds like "i dropped videogames 15 years ago but i make let's play because it's all the rage now"

That's fair, but Danny has the whole "This is all new to me, WHOAH" thing going for him. Shadow of the Colossus wasn't as bad as Wind Waker.

Also, when they die(which will probably be in today's episode) Danny won't lose his cool like Arin and Ross can do sometimes.

DS2 feels like a game they should've done on Grumps, not on Steam Train.
 
I thought Ross's comment on the Sub Reddit regarding Dark Soul II was pretty great

I've been enjoying Game Grumps a lot since Danny joined, and I've been trying to tolerate Ross more, but... My God this third video of Dark Souls 2 is the worst video I've seen in a long time. It's almost as bad as that one Naughty Bear episode, only with constant shouting.

I really hope their talk of improving at the game comes to fruition soon because, wow, I'm NOT watching any more like this.
 
Dark Souls II is NOT their type of game. The fanbase is known to be very vocal and negative at times and with their regular style of gameplay they should have known they would get heavily disliked for it
 
People really think that the dislike bar is high because of butthurt Dark Souls fans? Come on, they didn't even play the game, Ross was just screaming shit at the mic. This is bellow PewdiePie levels of shit.

They can suck at the game as much as they want, and they will probably suck (if they continue with the game), but at least try to play it and stop with the forced screaming.
 
Dark Souls II's latest episode was painful but I have every faith that they'll eventually learn how to play after an extensive break.

Seriously it was nearly unwatchable for me. Mostly because of drunk Ross' screaming. Like 75% of the comments on the video are just "lol salty Dark Souls fans, learn to appreciate good humor".

I don't care what they're playing I don't watch GG to just hear them scream nothing for ten minutes.

Ross makes most eps unwatchable really, I don't think many people would even give that guy a second thought had he done this sort of thing on his own. I hope at some point they let him go, I'd rather see a Barry/Dan combo on there or something but I'm guessing he's too busy to do that.

I can't do it, I take golf games more seriously than real golf, so I've had some Arin-like reactions just from the demo. :P

But I would have been all over Mario Tennis Open if it had the RPG mode from Mario Tennis GBC.
 
So im watching part 27 of kirby's epic yarn and danny blew my mind with how w're going to be the ones in the 20s, like I see the 20s like a really long time ago with all the old people and the time period when my grandma and MLK was born, and now we're coming up on that era for the 2000s and it's just a crazy mindblowing thought, but also a depressing one, it's like, oh god, we're going to be those old people soon.
 
Arin and Ross playing Dark Souls 2 has to be the most boring/annoying thing I've seen on this channel since some of the middle levels of Sonic 06. I'm not even against them playing poorly, but there's a difference between poor gameplay and them just standing around the tutorial area for 40 fucking minutes doing nothing and screaming.

I will watch this until they stop, but I hope they beat the game. I would like to see them try to make progress, but this right now really feels like they knew they weren't going to play more than a couple episodes so didn't even try to give it a chance.

The problem with that is that it has the potential to be a legitimately entertaining playthrough. I would really enjoy seeing them try to play the game, but what I'm getting isn't offensive as a Souls series fan, it's offensive as a Game Grumps fan because I know they can do a better job than this super annoying bullshit.

It's not Arin as much as Ross is annoying the piss out of me so much that I will punch my screen if I look at the guy.

Ross must be an enormous asshole to deal with when he's drunk.
 
Dark Souls 2 is pretty much the bottom of the barrel when it comes to both Game Grumps and Steam Train.

Ross said that better episodes are coming, but the thing is why should people have to sit through crap for something that may not be that good either? You need to start off strong or at least average and then build up steam. Starting off on really weak note just sours the rest of the experience.

Been watching for the first time since before Jon left, mainly Wind Waker (I just have the playlist on as background noise while playing DkS2 PC). Danny is much better than I thought he'd be.

What would be another good Grumps v2 game series to jump into?a

I stopped watching a little bit before the time Jontron left due to school but I never went back after Jontron left (in retrospect not including Jontron in the title was some great foresight

As far as I know he just left cos he wanted to do his own thing more and be more creative. Lots of people kept saying Ego kicked him out or something like that

they even did once the lock-on in demon's soul (only once) but seems like they missed the hint for the lock on. good luck casting magic without it. and he was the "fuck tutorials" guy.

I disagree. I love middle of the night everything's funny Grumps. I'm okay with them just fucking around. I didn't like the Mario Golf series all that much though.
 
Ross never did really bothered me, but when he starts burping (I guess when he's drunk?) it's annoying as hell.
I'm starting to not like him because of this series.

That's what I'm saying, though, their screaming and being annoying has nothing to do with the game being Dark Souls. These two are being extra annoying and ignoring the game completely, more so than usual, which is annoying regardless of what the game is. I would be complaining just as much if it was any other random game if they spent 40+ minutes and aren't even out of the tutorial yet.

Watching these new Table Flip episodes, it seems kind of like Mega64 is green screened in here. They also kind of seem like they don't want to be there, but the game seems really cool.

Also, why does Arin keeping moving around like a crackhead in these videos? Is he literally just going insane?
 
The Dark Souls 2 series takes everything I dislike about Game Grumps, combines it, then turns it up to 11.

It's incredibly phoned in. It still follows the 10 minute format designed to get more views even if they literally don't do anything for 5 episodes. And worst of all, it's condescending. It's pretty apparent that GG knows their fanbase will continue watching their videos no matter how shitty they are, so the quality is wildly inconsistent.

I really do enjoy watching some of their series, but I don't know if I'll be watching any of their future videos after seeing how little they actually respect their fanbase. The least they could've done was stop uploading the videos after they watched/edited them, but they still put them up, knowing how shitty they were.

Yes. Yes, yes and yes. It's gotten so bad these days, I can't watch an entire episode anymore.
 
Yeah, I remember when Jon was still around they mentioned a few times how they scrapped some episodes because they weren't any good. Sure some bad episodes still slipped through the cracks but at least for a while they seemed to not want to upload any terrible episodes. But Arin and Ross have heard the backlash for the DS2 episodes and they're still uploading them knowing how bad they are.

He beat the first Dark Souls actually and is currently doing the second one, and yeah he actually does try to do serious playthroughs, like he finished The Last of Us, Beyond Two Souls and Outlast for example. I'll be totally honest, the hate that Pewdiepie gets is unfair in my opinion. Sure, some of his stuff is pretty retarded, like his Happy Wheels series, but plenty of his content is fun to watch.

At this point, with Jon having left GG and Danny/Ross/Jon going full retard mode, I actually prefer watching Pewdiepie, since he actually plays through games and makes an effort. GameGrumps at this point is nothing more than a group of clueless, humorless idiots, constantly screaming and yelling, ignoring tutorials only to complain about how the game is terribly designed because they don't know what to do, Ross being a sore loser every time, giving up after two or three videos, constant complaining and whining, etc...

It's just not what it used to be back when it was Jon and Arin. They at least were genuinely funny, genuinely friends and they actually made an effort. This GameGrumps just gives me headaches.
 
You guys should probably stick to let's plays if you want people to progress through games at a steady pace.

Backseat gaming is pretty annoying, Game Grumps is all about the commentary.

Jon and Arin ignored tutorials and stuff all the time. And Jon was pretty well known for giving up on games early. There were many games they played that would have made a good series but Jon wanted to stop playing. At least Dan gets interested in the games they play and tries to keep them going.

Except that they quit the majority of games 5 episodes in so if you're tuning into people playing through games at any reasonable pace you're barking up the wrong tree.

Also the show has been this way since it started, why are people bitching?

Arin and Ross screaming is apparently good commentary now. I wouldn't mind them being so terrible at Dark Souls 2 if they weren't being incredibly annoying while playing it.
