Game Grumps (aka Egoraptor plays some games)

A create your own Sonic character is something they could have made. A movie maker is something they could have made, (which was then used in this game for awful, awful things.)

Now that I think about it, SEGA could probably make a million dollars if they released a Create-a-Sonic game. Includes easy exporting to DeviantArt!

Can Arin please never talk about finance/economics again? He comes off more and more ignorant when he talks and it's just PAINFUL.

Depressions have criteria Arin, they exist. It's not all psychological and some random person declares it's arbitrarily a depression. Jesus fuck

What episode?

One of the early 20s for galaxy. Maybe 23? He was saying he thought that depressions in the economy were all psychological and they happen because someone tells people that so then they all stop spending money and everything gets terrible.

You do realize Arin has an Illuminati symbol on his mantle piece, right? He is surely not foreign to the outspoken viewpoint.

I know! That was the first thing I thought when I saw him. Screw the shirt. The plushie needs to be made.

Also, that hotdog outfit explains the Vine I saw a few weeks ago.

The Knuckles section of Sonic Adventure is going to break Arin lol, hope he holds out until he gets to the Big levels. :)

It's the first time that skipping the How to Play section is really screwing him over. And then the classic "How should I know thaaaaaaaat?" lol. I'm actually hoping Amy will break him. I just know he's going to try to attack ZERO. Muwahahahaha.

The one time he had to point it out and jokingly dismiss it...

You must resist. Throw the game into the bushes, my friend!
Good call, all I had left were E-102's A Missions, Big, Amy, and Chao Races. Fuuuuuuuuck all that!

Gotta say though, I dunno if it's just me, but it doesn't seem that hard to play the jank of the game in your favor. Like, doing the A and B Missions for Sonic Tails and Knux yesterday was surprisingly piss easy. Then again, I probably know the quirks of the game more than Arin

I'm really enjoying the new King's Quest series, as Danny & Ross playing point-n'-click adventure games are always a joy to watch/listen to. I can't wait to watch the next episode today.

Yeah its really fun. Danny is especially enamored with it, Im happy for him o.o when I played it, it was such a huge callback to the original games but done in its own unique way.

Man, Arin and Danny are really upset that the walkthrough doesn't tell them where to find the emeralds but they don't realize that the emeralds are hidden randomly. The radar isn't hard to use. Arin started Red Mountain with an emerald already on the radar and then flew away from it...

I haven't played any of the older King's Quest games (I have started with KQV), and I was wondering if the dragon that Graham deals with in the opening is a call back to something that he does in the first King's Quest game. Also, it makes me wonder if there will be any callbacks to the 8th installment, given how that game is considered to be the black sheep of the series.

Yes, the scene with the Dragon is a callback to King's Quest 1. The Mirror is one of three treasures that Graham is tasked with getting in that game in order to win the throne of Daventry. In that game you can collect a bucket of water from the well to douse his flame, (which gives you a cloud of steam with which to grab the mirror and escape,) gain invulnerability from a magic fairy, or use a number of other methods to get the mirror.

Part 32 of Sonic Adventure is now private on Youtube, even though it wasn't for a few hours.
Anyone knows what happened?

EDIT: Ok I looked up on reddit and I get why they did it. I get that sometimes they say things without thinking them, like most people, but telling their fans to mail the guy is too much.

See above.

Dan read out the name of the person who wrote the shitty walkthrough and it's lead to harassment.... and not one person from Dan to Arin to Barry/Kevin thought "hmmm... this is a bad idea."

1. That was pretty fucking irresponsible of Dan to namedrop the guy, and pretty fucking irresponsible for Kevin or Barry to leave it in
1b. That was uncharacteristic and pretty fucking irresponsible of Dan to namedrop the guy and joke about their fans sending him hate mail, without telling people that that's a dumb shitty thing to do and they shouldn't do it. When you've got the reach the Grumps have you can't just say some shit like "Heh, fuck this guy Dude Guyperson, wouldn't it be funny if a bunch of people started shitting on him out of nowhere?" and leave it at that.
2. That was pretty fucking dumb of Arin and Dan to give a guy shit for a terrible walkthrough when they could have easily paused the goddamn episode to find a better resource
3. What the fuck, Grumps fans? (the ones harassing people)

What a shitshow over a dude who can't be arsed to read instructions

Edit: Just noticed Leadfoot was in that Reddit thread. Seems he's not too fazed about it, so that's good.

Mistakes were made. Sometimes you forget you're public to the world and say things. The real problem was no one catching it and editing it in the first place like was said above.

Is it back up yet?

Yeah, as soon as Danny said the guy's name on the show I knew it was a bad idea, but I didn't think it would get this bad.

It's also weird because the Grumps are usually pretty protective about giving out personal info on the show but this time it slipped through. I was honestly expecting Arin to cut Danny off before he said the guy's name.

It's gonna be really awkward when they upload the next episode and they're still talking about the guy's walkthrough.

So Arin's gross incompetence at video games finally caused someone trouble for something they did over 10 years ago.

ATTABOY.

I'm betting a fan already reupped the episode elsewhere.

Edit: Yep. It's on a reup channel of course. Just don't read the comments. I'll probably watch the original then tomorrow or whenever watch the edited version just for the heck of it. I just hope they don't use this as an excuse to put the Sonic and Mario series' out of sync and replace one of tomorrows videos. I want 4 episodes tomorrow so don't shortchange us!

I think it's absurd that Dan felt he had to apologize for reading the name at the bottom of a gamefaqs walkthrough. he should've told off the piece of garbage fans who did whatever the hell they did if anything (what did they do btw?).
I watched the episode earlier and didn't think twice about him saying the name, if anything just like "ha I bet this'll get back to the dude who wrote this walkthrough 10+ years ago and he'll get a little laugh out of it"

The fans didn't do anything bad, but they just called out Arin and Danny for well, calling out a person who wrote a faq 10 years ago.

There's only so much shitting danny and arin can do before it bites them

I don't think that's possible, the shards are random so a walkthrough is useless outside of a few where you need to take multiple steps to get at.

That said when Dan namedropped him I thought people would try to get him in contact with them, but I forgot it's the internet.

I don't think it's wrong to assume that a 10 year old walkthrough creator may not even still have the same email address. Unless it was a Gmail address. I've seen many walkthroughs with email addresses from services no one uses anymore and I wouldn't be surprised if those people don't even use the address anymore. But I can see the problem. Who knows what the author would be thinking when he suddenly gets a ton of email from angry Sonic Adventure fans about a walkthrough he probably wrote when he was 12.

This will blow over fast. Apologies have been said. Nothing else you can do. For some reason people are blaming Kevin. He really had no reason to think anything was wrong because Danny and Arin seemed to be having fun and no one said anything about "Maybe it's a bad idea." But Danny, you silly billy, you shouldn't have done that, even if you were just trying to keep the viewers from thinking you were making it up. Though I'm sure any resourceful fan would be able to find the walkthrough just by Googling the words Danny had been saying for days about how to find the emeralds.

Hell, I found it just by Googling exactly what Danny said in episode 30:
this stage isnt particularly hard so you shouldnt have much trouble locating the emerald pieces

it's Lead Foot's fault for not making it clear that the emeralds are random. He doesn't even use the word "random" anywhere in the entire walkthrough.

And just what I thought. It's a Hotmail address. lol who uses Hotmail emirate? /s

Also the homepage is Geocities. So it's not too much to assume this guy probably has new points of contact by now if you're an outsider.

In short, Danny didn't mean any harm and fans are assholes for doing this shit. They're as bad as people who edit Wikipedia for a joke. Danny should have called out the idiot fans for being idiots. Hopefully they bring it up in a later episode and he goes off on them for not being the lovelies they're supposed to be.

I was thinking they'd find something that would have made more explicit that the shard locations are randomized, because apparently Leadfoot's guide didn't. Or even a video walkthrough that would show different locations, something that would have lead them to that conclusion.

Let's look at the first section they consulted the walkthrough for and read out loud on air:

This level is fairly small, so finding the pieces shouldn't be much trouble;
there is, however, one tricky place that an emerald may be located at. Head
to the second floor and face the lion. Go to your right and there will be a
barrel with a path of rings above it. Jump on it, and go to the left so you
fall on the ledge. Touch the button and fall in the hole that opens up. There
may be an Emerald Piece in here.

They read this. They followed the instructions. There was no emerald piece in that location.

Also, it's ridiculous they are consulting a walkthrough for this in the first place...

He didn't clarify it but it's pretty easy to infer.

What a couple of assholes. I mean I'm glad they apologized but Jesus. I like the part where they rag on the dude for his username. Okay Egoraptor and Danny Sexbang.

I think it was careless and totally wrong to mention the guy by name, but the fans who doxxed this guy are total assholes. I feel for Dan as he clearly didn't want this to happen and he seems so genuinely sorry.
