Game Grumps (aka Egoraptor plays some games)

Okay, I'm just curious, but aren't they supposed to give the Starberries to the Troll? Why are they going back to the bakery? Or do they need to give the Starberries to the baker to make something for him? I was just wondering why they didn't think to give him the berries since he did ask for something sweet I thought.

It never occurred to me to try that, but yeah, the accepted answer is to go to the baker, have him use the starberries and sugarshrooms to bake a pie, and give that to the troll.

Sad thing is, I haven't watched the episode. I've just played the games that many times.

The Big episodes are great because the pain of all the "HURR DURR" jokes and tediousness of the gameplay is balanced by the schadenfreude of Arin failing at this shitty fishing minigame.

Aron never ever reads or tries anything the game tells him to do before wandering around aimlessly for a couple of hours first.

It's infuriating seeing him walk right by the shit he needs to do and hearing him complain "Where is it? This fucking game dude!"

The reason I think Suzie gets less love stems from her early episodes... No one watches game grumps (or should anyways) for serious play throughs... But the early Suzie episodes are full of her telling everyone else to stop playing around and play for real.

She has mostly gotten over that, but she still doesn't seem to get on the crazy shit and you can occasionally still hear her frustration from time to time.

In short, she takes grumps too seriously. Holly definitely gets awkward at times, but in a more amusing overwhelmed sort of way which is more fun to watch.

I actually like that.

Also my fav grump episodes are folks, ussually dan, trying to be good at a game they are familiar with.

Latest episode of Sonic Adventure was pretty enjoyable. Also, really, really hope Arin is informed/manages to figure out that Duke Nukem is Big the Cat before the end of this game...

What? I loved Suzy in those early episodes.

So how much is left with Sonic? Finale of Big the Cat possibly tomorrow, then the robot guy? How long is his campaign and how insufferable is the gameplay? What can we expect?

Gamma has five stages, but they're all timed. Honestly it shouldn't take too long or be too frustrating to get through, but you know how Arin can be when focusing on talking instead of the game.

The gameplay is run and gun. If you hold down the shoot button you'll activate a targeting laser that will fire homing shots at up to (I think) 6 targets at once. The benefit of this is that multi-kills will give you extra time.

Only thing left with Big is
fighting Chaos 6
. I can see Arin tripping up a bit with E-102, or taking a while to come to grips with him, but it's really not too bad. Gamma's gameplay isn't nearly as bad or horrendously tedious as Amy or Big. Should be able to run through mindlessly with little frustration. But we'll see about that. :P

Gamma was my favorite section after the Sonic levels. Amy's levels weren't too bad, but hated Knuckles.

Since I've become recently employed again I've stopped watching GG. :(

Just can't get into any of what they're playing currently.
Mario Galaxy and Sonic Adventure DX? They're playing an amazing game and a terrible game at the same time. How can you not find it enjoyable?

Also, 3D World is their best play through. Period.

I'm curious to know what your thoughts are, with regards to the average length of a series the Grumps upload. Do you guys prefer watching a longer series, such as the Wind Waker playthrough, or do you prefer their mini-series &/or one-off's?

For me, a lot of my favourite playthroughs of the games Arin & co. have done are usually the ones that barely have 20 episodes or less (Wild Guns, Jackal, some of the Sierra Steam Train series), as I find their longer recordings tend to loose bit of steam when they hit the high 50's or so.

Really depends on the game. Some are brutal by the end of a long stretch, others I'm sad it's a one off because I think it would be fun to see.

I usually burn out on their longer series unless it's a game I'm really interested in. I've already lost track of Mario Galaxy and I never bothered finishing Sonic Boom, for example, but I've religiously tuned in to Sonic Adventure damn near every day.

I do wish they did more one-offs and VS episodes, though.

Absolutely with you. I usually just watch <20 episodes of the long series but then go back to watching an old one off or something.

I want them to play Kings Quest 7 soon. It's been a while since 6.

I wait until the series has finished before I watch them. I watch the longer series while I am exercising I can get 3 or 4 watched depending on the length. I am on episode 47 of Bloodborne and yes it's getting a little boring now but not has boring as exercising. I have to start Mario Galaxy or Sonic.

I tend to prefer the longer ones because I can just set the playlist to auto play and listen to it in the background while I do something else.

Then you'll like the 6PM GMT Slot which isn't Sonic Adventure Finale: Pac-In-Time

I had completely forgotten that Pac-Man 2 was a thing that existed until Arin mentioned it, and now I desperately want to see Arin and Danny play it. It is 100% insane.

EDIT: I don't know why, but Danny saying "Have a Great Day!" at the end of Pac In Time just made me smile. Danny's such a cool guy.

How can you forget? I used to play that as a kid. :(

Also the lack of sonic kind of pisses me off. Like they have one episode left and instead they milk it instead of just ending the damn series.

I did too. Someone gave me a used copy. I still don't remember who, or why. It was either my neighbor or my best friend.

I guess I assumed they had already done it? I dunno.

They better not delay the finale of Sonic Adventure for weeks or something. Otherwise it will become the new Trauma Center.

I still want them to finish Trauma Center.

Yeah, probably. Weird that they played it so early though, and usually they catch themselves before spoiling stuff like that on the show even though its not really a big deal.

They might have plans in October? I know Danny usually tends to be busier than Arin so that's probably why, just in case.

Looking at the first episode of their Sonic Adventure playthrough.... WTF?

They're complaining about the graphics? The game was originally released in 1998, just a month after the original Half-Life. Sometimes it just seems like they complain just to complain.

Also, they're breaking the game by constantly veering off course or stopping, you have to actively try to have the problems they experienced.

They are except at the one where he falls through on the curve, I remember being pissed at that as a kid while trying to get all the emblems.

He also practices games before they play so it may just be practice runs for the future.

It's astonishing that Arin and Danny got me into watching Grumps but now I only watch the episodes that either have as well or only have Ross or Barry. I find Arin at this point in time to be one of the most irritating personalities I've ever heard. I can't stand listening to him anymore or watch him be so incompetent at video games.
