Game Grumps (aka Egoraptor plays some games)

ALttP vs. OoT is a lot more interesting because Egoraptor doesn't think that OoT is a masterpiece at all. Skyward Sword gets taken down many more pegs than OoT ever does, so why would it be interesting to see him gripe about it?

Because then I'll have a video to point people that easily explains why Skyward Sword fails in so many ways. I've gotten much use out of that Megaman X sequilitis video.

With a LTTP vs. OOT video, it'll just be Egoraptor spouting some wrong opinion about OOT. That ain't fun!

Didn't he say that he likes all three of them but that he thinks the series still got worse over time? I know what he said about Skyward Sword in the panel, but in one of the Mega Man 7 videos, he said he still likes SS.

At this point, I'm more interested in seeing the Metal Gear Sequelitis he talked about a while back; I feel like I know what he's going to say in the Zelda one already.

I've never played OoT, but I loved the hell out of A Link to the Past (looking back, that's a pretty awesome subtitle, too). I'm definitely looking forward to the next Sequelitis because I can hear what Egoraptor has to say about both games. But then again, maybe I should play Ocarina of Time to judge for myself.

It still baffles me that there are people out there who haven't played OOT.

Go. Play it now. It's good I swear.

I knew my comment would be met with a comment like that. Yes, I know it's good. Is it on the Virtual Console? Maybe I'll buy it, if that's the case. I'm starting a blog and I'm thinking of making an Okami vs. Legend of Zelda article. The only problem is that it's hard to compare Okami to one single Legend of Zelda game.

And on a related note, I've never played Wind Waker. WHERE'S YOUR GOD NOW

Don't worry, you're not missing out on much. Play OoT.

Now that the joy of Donkey Kong is over, lets get back to what really matters:

Sonic '06: Part 16 - Mach Speed

Edit: Prepare yourselves for around 5:20 seconds. I almost died from laughing again. Also,
Sounds like Sonic is gonna be hibernating for a bit
And finally,
That ending is going to lead to some very beautiful/terrible things

Seriously, do a Timeline Zelda Run, starting from Zelda Skyward sword then branching off to all 3 timelines.

It's way too early for the grumps to break down over Sonic 06. There's worse to come.

I do wonder who at Sega looked at the Mach Speed parts of the game and said "Yeah! That's ready to ship!"

I think that was just the end of it for that day's session. So, i think it'll be back relatively soon. Besides, more chances for the Gaf-Grumps games to finally appear.

Why stop there? I wonder who at Sega looked at everything they'd created and said the same thing.

Watching Sonic 06 never stops being some kind of twisted marvel, everything from the visuals, the level design, the gameplay and much much more comes together perfectly to create one of the most spectacular abominations i've seen in this industry.
One thing that always gets me is the way Sonic just vanishes from the screen when hit, it's jarring every single time even though I know it's coming, I just can't understand the game and I don't want to understand it!

They haven't even gotten to RADICAL TRAIN yet.
It's kind of funny. With the other games, it's mostly looking forward to what they have to say about them. But with Sonic 06, it's more the anticipation you have when someone is just about to fall in a pit or something like that. Pre-emptive shadenfreude. And yes, Radical Train is exactly that. Although I am also looking forward to them doing the castle part, especially since it has the non-horrible Mach Speed part.

Sonic 06 is one of those game I kind of want to play, just for the sheer awfulness of it. But then again, I don't want to... for the same reason.

I was so close to pulling the trigger one time, I felt as if it was my duty having played most of the series to witness the disaster first hand, thankfully I didn't succumb to such thoughts.

Instead I decided i'd watch the cutscenes to see how bad the plot was, oh yeah, it was bad, real bad. To this day Sonic's creepy laugh on the grassy hill with Elise is still just too much for me to handle, i'd ask them what they were thinking but I imagine that they simply weren't thinking, not thinking straight at least.

I'm pretty sure that Sonic vanishing is just weird interlacing. He's actually flashing very quickly, and the way the video is captured or encoded makes the frames with him in it disappear. It happens more in older games than newer ones, for obvious reasons.

Well fiddlesticks, that's not as funny.

When is Ego releasing the next sequelitis? It feels like it's been a millenia since he first said it was coming.

Oh and after rewatching the NSMB Wii GG videos I've come to understand that I'll never agree with their opinions on that game. All they pretty much did was whine about pointless shit that doesn't really matter. The only legit complaints for the NSMB series is the weird visual style, bad music and different physics. The level design is still fucking great in them and they're really fun to play.

you should play it

it's really funny

That explains why neither Jon or Arin ever mentioned it.

On the Contra vids, I don't see some bullets being drawn. Is that just on our end too?

That's very common for 16-bit action games. When the source is 60fps with bullets appearing and vanishing every other frame, you're going to miss some of them in a 30fps streamed video.

As cool as that sounds, it also sounds very, very tedious. I'll play every Legend of Zelda eventually (I probably won't, to be honest), but I'm not going to do it just to write one blog post.

Boba Fett was so useless. He did nothing of importance.
I've never watched Star Wars, either.

Watching Jon and Arin play Contra makes me wish there were more shooters that don't take themselves seriously. Those shooters are great and all, but I really want to play a shooter where all of my guns have unlimited ammo and they just get crazier as I go along. Also, the enemies have to get crazier. None of this generic soldier bullshit.

The important news i'm taking from the Wild Guns vid is that Sunset Riders is on the way, I played it like once but it left a pretty lasting impression.
