Game Grumps (aka Egoraptor plays some games)

The new guy is pretty funny, I will definitely miss JonTron but I actually enjoyed this one.

Also he is actually good at games so they can focus on humour a lot more, although their best moments did come from losing...
 
Watching the newest episode and it just isn't the same, man.

It's just so jarring how out of the left field this was, and how quick it was to already have an episode ready with the new guy. Intro and all.

They've probably been working on this for a while, I imagine the discussions were at least for a month.

I will say though, by the end they weren't having fun. Changing hosts might reinvigorate it
 
As I said in my own thread, I've unsubscribed. It's just too jarring and isn't the same. It's like telling Robin Williams to stop doing improv.
 
On one hand, it is a bummer that JonTron is out. On the other hand, it seems like there will be more discussion about the actual game and less ECHHHHHHH ARRRRRRIIIIINNNNN!
 
Yeah, i agree, i watched the whole episode, and while there is nothing inherently wrong with Danny, its not the same, and it makes me feel as though Ego is washed up, honestly. Jontron will go back to being his rad self, but honestly, Ego is coming out worse in my eyes. That intro also hurt to hear.

Though, the VGCW fans are probably stoked.
 
I feel bad for Danny. The guy could have perfect chemistry with Arin, and he'd still be criticized because of how completely out of left field this was and Jon's importance to the Grumps. Had Danny been the co-star from the beginning, it wouldn't be a big deal.

I hope he just updates Game Grumps with the new guy instead of removing them. Game Grumps salt on VGCW was the best thing.
 
Only reason I'm pissed about this is because of the shirt I bought to fucking support their channel when less than a month later this happens.

Last time I do shit like that, I guess.
 
Danny isn't bad, but this is still saddening. I basically watched the show for Jon, so at least for me, the show no longer really appeals to me. Ego is occasionally interesting but Jon was the crux of the show (again, only my own opinion) so I'm out. Hopefully we'll at least get more JonTron shows from now on.

I'm very much the same. In general, I don't find Ego that likeable. He often gets very hung up about his opinions on games which aren't even that solid to begin with. In fact, oftentimes they're flat out dumb.
 
New into sucks, but Danny was great in the episode. I'll miss Jon's grumpin' but I'm certainly not going to let it stop me from enjoying the new stuff. Time to explore NinjaSexParty.
 
A brave new age of not killing my brain cells through tuning in!

Maybe Arin can get back to playing games he actually wanted to (Demon's Souls, nevah forget, nevah forgive) rather than babysitting his very special baby brother's love of Rareware.

Edit: New dude actually knows his shit! Glorious! Its like when you upgrade your PC with better components!
 
Wow, this was out of left field. Watching the new intro is a little jarring. And I now somethings wrong when I wake up to a text from my girlfriend telling me that that GameGrumps will never be the same.
 
God damn it. Just when I was actually looking forward to watching a new video everyday. I mean there's nothing wrong with the new guy and actually has more knowledge about the game, but that's not what I looked for in game grumps, I could get that from tons of other channels. The crazy random silliness is what I loved and Jon was the master at that. I respect his decision to move on though. I imagine a year of playing and commentating on games must get rough, but damn, I'll miss Arin and Jon game grumps. I'll keep giving it a shot for now and will definitely watch whatever Jon goes on to do.
 
JonTron, you will be missed. Everyone who is out because of Jon leaving give Danny a chance before you are "fuck this shit I'm outta here!"

Just watched Punch out.

I thought Danny was awesome, especially since it's his first episode. I'm really looking forward to watching this as they find their groove because Danny is already way easier to listen to than Jon. They just haven't built up a great back-and-forth chemistry, which takes a bit of time.

Color me surprised. I'm excited, especially since GG has been wearing thin for me... I'd started cherry picking episodes about 6 weeks ago instead of watching them all.
 
I'm willing to give the newbie a shot, does he have a youtube channel? I know nothing about him and want to get a general feel for him.

(edit) To be clear, I've never been a huge fan of Jon... I'm hoping for less randomly grabbing the mic and yelling. If I get that, but everything else relatively the same humor level, it'll only be better.
 
Maybe they'll cycle through all of Ego's friends and Arin'll be the glue that holds Game Grumps together.

But it's hard to call it "Game Grumps" when the two are laughing and joyful the entire time.
 
So, finished watching the Punch-Out video.

I'm totally okay with this. The partnership with Arin isn't there yet, but the guy is clearly well informed and pretty funny. He matches Arin really well, and is far more focused on game related jokes and trivia compared to Jon's ARINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN screaming that I honestly wasn't that much of a fan of.

I like Jon, but I always felt he was better in his JonTron videos. He does far better scripted. This way we get the best of everything.
 
Just watched the Punch-Out episode, and it's good. I still miss Jon just being random at times but the new guy knows stuff about the game and works well with Arin. I'll keep a few more episodes going and see how I like the change as time goes on.
 
I was pretty thrown off, and the intro definitely feels wrong, but the actual episode felt pretty solid to me. Nice to see a decent bit of discussion centered on the game. It'll be weird, but I think at least for now I'll keep on watching.

Also guess this explains the long string of only one episode a day. Shame Jon couldn't at least stick it out till they finished Sonic, though.
