Dont think it will launch earlier in the EU... 360 was released on Nov. 22nd in the US and on the 2nd Dec. in EU. Might be an indicator.
He means to say that perhaps the original plan was 15th US, 29th EU but now it is 22nd for both.

Wait, this is kinda weird. They had all the gaming media's attention this past weekend at PAX, and they announce the following Wednesday?
That is pretty, strange, in my opinion. This will be huge news, but its not like the Release Date at Pax would have overshadowed any big announcements they had, they didn't have any big announcements (other than Titanfall and LocoCycle being playable on the show floor, thanks for that HUGE Surprise Major Nelson).

Given how the PS3 launched like decades after the 360 in most places and has still managed to pretty much equal 360 sales it doesn't seem to matter too much, really.
Especially as this is going to be a matter of 2 weeks or less.
Additionally, they're claiming it is a sell out in many places so they won't have any advantage shipping early if there isn't any to buy...

Those don't matter. The X1 will likely sell out no matter what is being released the same day. It's not like somebody will walk into a store and make a serious decision whether to get Zelda on 3DS or a new X1 console. They'll walk in and get whatever they were intending to get in the first place.
Yeah, this. I have no concerns about either the PS4 or Xbox One exhausting their initial shipments within the first week.

Nah. The offer also doesn't include other next-gen titles releasing earlier - Ass Creed etc so you can't deduce based upon it not including Watch Dogs.
They'd struggle to make as much money back on those titles compared to FIFA, BF and COD which have longevity. That's the likely reason it is only those 3 titles.

But they wouldn't have known what Sony's date would be. In any case, I reckon the Xbox One's European release will be earlier than the PS4's, but not sure about the US release.

Its not like there are tons of Day 1 Preorders out there to pick up. So if it does launch a week before, its not like people can rush out and buy it. Most Preorders are already filled up for Day 1 Editions. If it was a week before, it would just give Microsoft some media attention on the big networks, and that is good for free publicity. However, where are you going to buy one at from now till either of those dates?

Not huge enough competition unfortunately. Neither is Hunger Games (lol). Will be a good day for gaming regardless, though.

This biggest movie of the year? You know that MS always uses biggest entertainment launch when discussing numbers. It'll be the second biggest thing in the US that day if true.
