Not at a reasonable price and in good physical conditionNot that I've ever been able to find anyway.
I'm really tempted to buy one of those Rose Colored Gaming OG GBAs... I never heard of that site before, but they make some amazing stuff, damn.
I can sell you one for way cheaper. I don't do custom paint jobs though. Although, I might start doing more black buttons (they're vinyl dyed, not painted).
GBA is such an awesome system, but for me the best way to play the games is this:

I do love my Micro, though.
I so wanted this as a kid, it's a shame I never was able to buy one.

My one true love.
Still plays GBA games perfectly to this day.
Especially Mega Man Battle Network.
This is how I had light

The Gameboy Micro is even more magical
haha, I'm doing the same.
Want that 101 model, but I'm not about to pay $80 for one. That modded OG Gba on the other hand...
Wait, so there are 2 versions of GBA SP? A backlit one and a non-backlit one? I used to have a silver one but I can't remember if it was backlit or not (I'm leaning towards not), and I traded it in for the DS fat. I had tons of great gaming memories on that machine so I was thinking about buying a new one.
Is there any way to tell just by looking if it's backlit or not?
This is how I roll when I play gba.

GBA is by far and away my favorite handheld. There's a ton of lesser known games that are extremely high quality.
Depends on what you consider reasonable price. 90 for a brand new quality (minus the box and original charger) is easy to find on amazon.
how much is way cheaper?
Not seeing it. $80 and scratched up![]()
I'll have more soon, I'm just waiting for some parts to arrive.
I got super lucky and found one on craigslist for $30 in decent condition. Came with SMB3 too.Not at a reasonable price and in good physical conditionNot that I've ever been able to find anyway.
Still have my GBA SP NES edition. I will never sell it. Ever.
That said, I did love the original GBA form factor. I could totally see myself spending way too much money for one of these:
I am strongly trying to resist the urge to get one of the black ones, but I don't know if I'll manage once they restock.I totally ending up spending too much money on this. I am weak, but a GBA modded to look like an OG Game Boy? I couldn't say no.
Hope it doesn't take too long to get here.
Backlight strong.

That back lit GBASP is a thing of beauty. As others have said, it really is the best way to play all the old black and white and GBC games.
This thread makes me remember how handheld gaming was before backlights (and frontlights) were standard. Man, we really are spoiled now.
Nyko Wormlights, you have served us well back then.
I know there are refurbished ones on ebay that come with a pouch and really shitty game, colors are black or purple. Purple was really sexy looking but a bit more so I got black. The thing looks brand new and works great. It never came out in Purple. Did you paint it yourself? I think the backlit model only came out in Onyx, Baby Blue, and Pink.
