Gamefly Changes how they show availability in the queue

The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
Dear Darien,

We wanted to let you know that we've changed how we display Game Availability on our Web site. Our new availability statuses reflect our shipping practices more accurately and should help you make better decisions about how to rank your GameQ. Since we get a large volume of discs returned daily, a copy of your requested game may become available during the day even if it is not listed as Available Now.

These new categories show you the likelihood that a game will ship today:

Available Now Game is in stock
High Availability 75% or greater likelihood of shipping today
Medium Availability 50% - 74% likelihood of shipping today
Low Availability 25% - 49% likelihood of shipping today
Very Low Availability Less than 25% likelihood of shipping today

The Available Now status has not changed - these titles will normally ship the same day your return is checked in. High Availability titles will ship the same day over 75% of the time. Very Low Availability titles have less than a 25% likelihood of shipping - most of these games are rare or no longer manufactured.

We'll always attempt to ship you the first available game in your GameQ when you return a title. If your first choice is not available by the end of our shipping day, we'll send the next available title in your GameQ.

Thank You,

Oh and so far the Pittsburgh distribution center has not decreased my ship times at all.

Haha I got that email too. The first six games in my queue were always 'Short Wait.' With these new changes, everything is now 'Low' which is one of the worst you can get.

It's about time to stop the 4-plan because I've pretty much played every game on their site, hehe. I'm completely scrapping the bottom of the barrel now.

Dear Darien,

Starting this week, you may notice that the return address on your GameFly mailer will be Pittsburgh, PA. We're pleased to open this new shipping location as part of our continued effort to improve mailing times for GameFly members across the entire United States.

Initially, we are launching this new distribution center for only a small subset of our members (including your zip code), so we can complete our testing and training efforts. Over the next several weeks, we'll broaden the reach of this new distribution center to more members.

While we anticipate that the transition will be smooth, we would appreciate your feedback, both positive and negative. Please send any comments about your experience to newdcfeedback@gamefly.com.

GameFly sounds so much more organized than GamezNFlix.

They are, but of course the trade off is they are more expensive... but worth it IMO. I just closed my GzNF account again... with them dropping of PSP and the fact that I'm caught up on backlogged games that I wanted to evalute for possible purchase I didn't see a need. Plus come on GzNF's envelopes are ass.

Take your 0.01mm thick envelopes that are clearly labelled "this is game is inside me" for your mailman/neighbor and shove it up your ass junior. Not every thread has to be a flame war.

Really? mine have improved by about a day and now I seem to be getting the thing where they send out before it actually gets to them all the time.

Well Fast Return based on how your post office processes the mail, not what distro center you're being shipped from.

Yeah, gamefly rox.

I'm in NYC and still haven't been shifted to the EC distribution center.

Wow way to overreact. I've never had a game stolen by a mailman, if I did have a missing game I would report it to GamesNFlix. If it happened more than once I could go to the post office and report the mailman.

Flamewar over video game rental services? Get over yourself. I was stating the truth.

I am in Jersey and have not seen any ship time improvements either.

However, GRAW 2 got put in the return envelope today. We'll see how long it takes Spiderman 3 to get here.

Past performance has been 7 - 10 days.

Getting that to 5 would seriously increase my happiness with the service.
