Subsidizing can only go so far. At most Sony can afford ~$100-$200 per console with the higher you go the unfeasible it is. Subsidizing $200 can mean a four billion dollar annual loss. That is not sustainable. If RAM prices get to the level where PC gaming is in danger, consoles would be well over $1000, even with a massive, company destroying subsidy of $200.Consoles are subsidized and run off old tech insufficient for ai use.
Consoles will also be using GDDR7 soon enough, exactly the same as what Nvidia GPUs use. AMD is still on GDDR6, same as the consoles.
