Games That Are Fun to Sim (CPU vs. CPU)

Looking for some good games that let you set things up and watch the CPU have it. Ideally, I'm after games outside the sports genre, more for tactics, strategy, and world-building types. Anything out there to scratch that itch?

This would be to play on PC mainly though I guess I'd be open to something on the PS360/Wii.

I'm not sure if you can even find it anymore on PC (I think it was just a retail release), but the original Juiced was a calender, team based street racing game.

You basically could just set up events and watch your team race, but you really had to coach them, otherwise they wouldn't pass people. It wasn't really deep, the drivers just had 3 settings - aggressive, cautious, and normal. But they'd only pass people if you put them on aggressive. But then they would sometimes crash going around corners if they were on aggressive, so you couldn't keep them on it.

I found it to be a lot of fun, but apparently I was in the minority, as the next game took that whole aspect out and became a generic street racing game, and then they canceled the series.

This is in Gran Turismo.

Doesn't help you out but it reminded me of fond memories around Christmas 1995; letting the CPU duke it out in Saturn Virtua Fighter 2 while I studied the movelist in the manual.

Mario Party and Smash Bros are fun in a strange way.
i set CPU vs CPU when i needed to study or get something done and wanted something in the background so that the mood wasn't too mute. SSBM has an interesting CPU tier list.

Wrestling games are usually your best bet for entertaining simming. The PS2 era WWE games have a more faster pace than the more recent ones and aren't as glitchy. To me though, the Fire Pro Wrestling series is king.

Didn't Killzone have some sort of sim option to show off it's AI? I remember reading previews and many mentioned being able to watch simmed deathmatches where no two games were the same.

UFC and FIFA before the real events on the big occassions. Did a match of Man U vs Arsenal in 2011 with a score of 8-3 then the real match happend a few days later with a score of 8-2 lol.

Supreme Commander works well for this. SupCom 2 has a quicker tech ramp if you're short on patience. Things can get pretty epic if you set up the AI properly.

I used to setup matches in Galciv where I'd design a bunch of computers and let them duke it out. Unfortunately, you can't make it full on CPU versus CPU, so instead I played as low-key and un-adversarily as possible. Love watching them battle it out.

Yeah, this is more what I was looking for but thanks everyone for the recommendations.

I loved Firepro for a good while but I think I'm finally through with it. Sports games are usually pretty good with letting you CPU vs. CPU but, other genres, not so much. I'd LOVE to take some like any of the Total War games, set up some scenarios, and then just watch what happens. Just doesn't seem like there's anything out there.

I want to say populous had this feature or at least in the nes version. I recall letting them duke it out for a while then take control.

You can design computers?
