I enjoy puzzle games that don't have a time limit with a cup of tea/coffee. Adventures, too. It works especially well if they have a moody presentation. Haven't played The Witness yet, but is surely sounds like a perfect match.
Polarium Advance Feels underrated if you ask me. I love it's presentation, the simple yet very fitting ost, customizable look + the fact that you can play it with hand - while holding your cup in the other. One of my favorite GBA games. If you like puzzle games and look for a coffee/tea pause game to play between 5-10 mins a day, it's perfect. And it's dirt cheap.
(Most of it probably applies to the DS version too, but I've never played it)
English Country Tune (!)
Zenbound (2)
SpaceChem
Animal Crossing
Any game?
I just drink tea all the time. I'm not a brit, no.
Professor Layton son
It's similar, yet different, but I'm a fan of Picross, too (another perfect coffee cup game). You don't always have an image to uncover in the end. It usually goes the other way round, dissolving images. The structure of the main game mode is questionable (1 puzzle a day, 365 puzzles for the whole year), esp since the first few puzzles are extremely easy. If you think about playing it the way it was intended, you might consider "starting" the game at a later date. Or just ignore the calender structure of it, luckily the game doesn't hold anything back. Thanks for mentioning Polarium, just bought it plus shipping for just 4€. Been getting into Picross a lot of recently, and Polarium looks like it scratches a similar itch.
Tabletop Simulator is easily one of the best games to consume beverages and play at the same time. Download and play various tabletop games with friends or strangers like Cards Against Humanity, D&D campaigns, Warhammer, Uno, Chess, Checkers, Poker and a whole bunch of other shit!
You can even slap a tablet on the table and browse that in between turns, hell you can even play music for everyone to hear. Great relaxing game! Decorating the table is a game within itself!

And don't forget the editor. You can find some more "official" puzzles on the japanese web site, here. And if you search around the web, I bet you'll find even more.
Lean back and take a sip as thousands of people die under your command. Just like real life.
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
Screw you, OP. Tea is low-tier coffee.. and this is coming from an Englishman.
Souls is great with a fine cup of coffee.

If you have PS+ the game Nova-111 is keeping my interest, it's a turn based shooter with puzzles, it's gonna be the first PS+ game I've ever finished I think![]()

How can everyone forget my boy Professor Layton? He lives and dies by the tea. So it feels appropriate during his games.
