Games that go really well with a cuppa tea

Any game I can play with mouse only controls is a play with a cuppa game. Point and click adventures for example.

I like everything turn-based with tea. And driving around in GTAV with a nice litre of green tea, two rounds of brewing (1min and 4mins), and a dozen trips to the bathroom afterwards.

I enjoy puzzle games that don't have a time limit with a cup of tea/coffee. Adventures, too. It works especially well if they have a moody presentation. Haven't played The Witness yet, but is surely sounds like a perfect match.

Polarium Advance Feels underrated if you ask me. I love it's presentation, the simple yet very fitting ost, customizable look + the fact that you can play it with hand - while holding your cup in the other. One of my favorite GBA games. If you like puzzle games and look for a coffee/tea pause game to play between 5-10 mins a day, it's perfect. And it's dirt cheap.
(Most of it probably applies to the DS version too, but I've never played it)
English Country Tune (!)
Zenbound (2)
SpaceChem
Animal Crossing

How can everyone forget my boy Professor Layton? He lives and dies by the tea. So it feels appropriate during his games.

Thanks for mentioning Polarium, just bought it plus shipping for just 4€. Been getting into Picross a lot of recently, and Polarium looks like it scratches a similar itch.

Any game on PC you can basically play mouse-only - Rollercoaster Tycoon, 1602 AD, any slow-and-easy strategygame really

Love playing those during the winter on my desk with a nice cuppa tea

The original Metal Gear Solid was great to play on a cold winter's day with a cup of hot chocolate. That cold-weather atmosphere in the game, along with a hot cup of anything, is superb.

'IloMilo' & 'Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker' are the perfect pair of games to play with a cup of jasmine tea & a friend to switch it up with.

It's similar, yet different, but I'm a fan of Picross, too (another perfect coffee cup game). You don't always have an image to uncover in the end. It usually goes the other way round, dissolving images. The structure of the main game mode is questionable (1 puzzle a day, 365 puzzles for the whole year), esp since the first few puzzles are extremely easy. If you think about playing it the way it was intended, you might consider "starting" the game at a later date. Or just ignore the calender structure of it, luckily the game doesn't hold anything back.

And don't forget the editor. You can find some more "official" puzzles on the japanese web site, here. And if you search around the web, I bet you'll find even more.

Tabletop Simulator is easily one of the best games to consume beverages and play at the same time. Download and play various tabletop games with friends or strangers like Cards Against Humanity, D&D campaigns, Warhammer, Uno, Chess, Checkers, Poker and a whole bunch of other shit!

You can even slap a tablet on the table and browse that in between turns, hell you can even play music for everyone to hear. Great relaxing game! Decorating the table is a game within itself!

Woah.

Thanks, I got the DS version, forgot to mention. Good to hear that there's an editor, which means inifinte puzzles! (I assume the DS one has an editor as well)

Turn based RPGs. In between battle when you're thinking "OK I don't want to take unnecessary damage. Let me think again how to play this out before I attack" *sip*

If you have PS+ the game Nova-111 is keeping my interest, it's a turn based shooter with puzzles, it's gonna be the first PS+ game I've ever finished I think :)

I have a really large plus backlog, but this game caught my attention out of the games for this month. Looking forward to playing it in a few months!

Cool topic idea.

I just started digging into a likely candidate with OOTP 16. Humble had it on sale for $6 so I thought it was worth a try at that price.

Man, what a neat, pull up a chair and adjust your glasses kind of game. There's just so much going on. So much to take in. But the pacing is fantastic, where you can take as long as you like to make moves. I also like that you can choose your level of involvement.

Calling every shot from the Front Office finances, Hiring & Firing, Roster Lineups, even play by play control over pitching, batting, base-stealing and more on game day. Conversely, you can offload strategic advise & moves to other team coaches and staff if it all seems too overwhelming. It feels quite flexible in this regard.

I always wanted to check out the Sports Manager / Spreadsheet Sim genre, but my experience and knowledge of European Football is pretty limited, so that always held me back. I've got a pretty good grasp on the sport of baseball, so that seemed like a more welcoming entrance point.

However, I understand the OOTP team are currently wrapping up license negotiations with the NFL for an American Football Manager game, likely due out this year. That's my bread & butter knowledge base. I fear for my free-time when this game lands.

Football Manager. Even has the option to let you go on holiday while the game simulates in the background. Just sit back, enjoy your herbal tea and watch the ai relegate your soccer franchise into 3rd division.

SOCOM The Thread.

One style you could approach the game with is with patience and using that patience to catch people off guard

I do believe if SOCOM confrontation was alive today I'd have over 4000 hours invested into it

MY KIND OF THREAD.

Drink tea all the time anyway, especially when I'm home and sitting down to play games, watch Netflix, whatever.

I have the perennial problem of my tea getting cold pretty quickly, I love having a cuppa at the side or Rocket League but I get the odd sip between goals and for the 30 seconds it takes to find a new match, then after a couple of matches it's cold. Anyone have mugs with built in heating elements powered by USB so I can plug straight into my PS4. Genuine question lol. (Flasks and the plastic inside tends to ruin the flavour of tea I find).

Green tea, once you get used to it is obviously better for late night sessions btw!
