Games where one particular thing looks really nice

Silent Hill Downpour.. The main character earlier in the game I think, his shirt has this stretchy wrinkle thing going on that looks really amazing. Nothing else in the game really stood out. Also, for at least the next half of the game or more, he's wearing a different shit that does NOT have the cool effect, and it looks bad.

Came for Pikmin 3, was not disappointed :)

The CUBE of paper right next to the burguer makes it for me. Even the paper below the burger is highly modeled and there is that shit paper with a shit texture that people made in 10 seconds. They didn't even bothered to model the holes in the block of paper

I think you're actually parsing the image wrong.
That's not the "three holed" side of a stack of sheets of notebook paper, it's the "top edge" where the notepad is crimped and glued together.
Look at the lines on the actual paper - it appears "wrong" at first glance because someone's written in "landscape" on "portrait" oriented paper.

There's noting wrong with this prop, at all.

Well after a couple of failed attempts at getting into Mass Effect one when it came out, I tried it a year or so later and rolled a Fem Shep for the 1st time.

There was one particular asset she had, best viewed from the rear that helped carry me through 3 games. Was seriously a game changer for me
the far superior voice acting prob had a little to do with it as well

Sexist pig.

But seriously, how anyone went renegade male Shepard is beyond me. Fem Shep was so much better at any aggression.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and it's lighting effects. For the amount that I talk about this game, you would think that I'm an undercover shill... but over ten years later, this games shadows and lighting effects are phenomenally good. Dynamic shadows, dynamic light sources(,sorry, not familiar with the actual jargon). But god damn does it still look good, I'll have to post my super sampled screenshots when I'm off my phone.

These rocks near the end of Killzone Shadow Fall always blew me away.

The rest of the game looks good, too. This just made me stare in awe.

I love the backgrounds in Pillars of Eternity.

Vindictus characters looked pretty great. Huge variety of armor and it is one of the few games that has visuals for deterioration. I loved seeing my Fiona after battle with dents in her shield and chips in her platemail.

Prince of Persia 2008, Prince and Elika parkour together look very nice even if sometimes Elika teleports a bit.

Bubble Shield from Halo 3 was the prettiest thing in gaming for me for quite some time.

Shoutouts to MGS3 grass which blew my mind at the time
Funny thing is that the grass in MGS4 and MGS5 are worse than that. MGS4 used polygon based grass but extremely sparingly and the interaction was nowhere near as accurate as MGS3... which also had a lot more of it. MGS5 on the other hand regressed even more and just used alpha sprite based grass that barely even reacts to the player.
