Chemical Plant Zone and Hydrocity Zone are the best levels of their respective games though.
Only Sonic Adventure 2.All the Sonic games.
God of war 3
I love the game in general but that first level pumps you up and all the rest of the game while its good, is doesn't reach the same level. Especially the end fight, they could have do a lot more with the setting.
Definitely.
Medal of Honor: Frontline. Normandy beach was so epic, the rest of the game I don't even remember lol
Final Fantasy 7. Midgar is the best section of that game.
And as divisive as it was, I think the opening hour of MGS V is absolutely stunning. The game does lots of good things, but nothing made me go 'holy fuck' the way that intro did
Bloodborne, I absolutely love the first area.
Resident Evil 7
The first maybe hour of that game is the best part
Resident Evil 7
The first maybe hour of that game is the best part
People sure love their on-rails, scripted opening sections.Metal Gear Solid V
Nearly all of them?
Devs usually spend the most time on the first level so it grabs and hooks the player.
Bloodborne
FF VII's Midgar is a good choice. I just love that setting and would love see a full fledged game with that kind of vibe the whole way through.
MGS 2's tanker is great but I can't agree with it being the best part of the game. MGS 2 is one of those rare cases where I'd actually say the very last parts were its strongests.
Definitely agree with this. One of the best openings of any game ever, tbh. Too bad the game doesn't do much with it, still a great game though.Fort Frolic though.
Anyway the opening to the new Prey is the best part. The rest of the game is consistently really good but it never really regains the highs of the beginning.
This is my answer as well. Usually when you start a game the possibility diminishes until you see what the game offers vs the marketing or your imagination. The possibilities seemed so huge in this first level.Fahrenheit : Indigo Prophecy. First level was by far the best part of the game.
I think Bloodborne opening area is the best designed segment in any game ever. The enemy placement, pacing, level design in general, atmosphere, etc. It is freaking perfect.
Wolfenstein: The New Order
Yeah that's a really good one.Medal of Honor: Frontline. Normandy beach was so epic, the rest of the game I don't even remember lol
Timesplitter 2. Russian zombie dam was a tough one to top.
Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice. I love that game but that first case....fuck.
