But seriously, Destiny is a very beautiful game. I've put over 600 hours into the game and I still find myself constantly gawking at the skyboxes, scenery and art direction in general.

Once you do a timelapse of Destiny's Skybox you totally see how primitive it is.

Pretty nice sprites though.

If I had to pick a favorite I'd have to say Destiny.

World of Warcraft is a strong contender for the huge variety.

Those Mad Max shots make me want to play the game at some point. Atmosphere goes a long way for me in games.

Yeah it is pretty, but definitely primitive. The illusion breaks once you see a sprite cycle position n times. Many of the games on this thread have actually managed to put the sky in skybox.

The first Crash Bandicoot. There's some levels where you go up and you can see the sky with the other two island in the background. These are artwork and are amazing. I don't have pictures here so if somebody finds them please post them for me.

Bloodborne sky boxes are nice, but the gross seams and low res texture ones ruin it.

This reminds me, the very first mission in Africa in MGSV (PS4) launched at night and had the WORST, glitchiest skybox I'd ever seen in a game.

Took me right out of the game.

Most skyboxes are just pretty wallpapers pasted in the background. This is why I love the ones in Afterburner Climax, because they have moving clouds and stuff.

Bonus: Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit had some pretty cool moving clouds too. Thunderstorms were damn impressive.

Titanfall, can't believe it hasn't been said.

I came in here hoping at least one person said this. There's a ton going on in every single one of Titanfall's skyboxes, and there's hidden easter eggs in a few of them.
