Sadly, I can't find many gifs with actual moves. Not as fluid as SFIII, but what is?

I've always loved the animations from the 2D Fire Emblem games:

Those animations are awesome, unlike the fake 3d used in the most recent games :(

Also Melee and better yet, Brawl!!!

Lost Planet, Lost Planet 2
Killzone 2
Resident Evil 5
Red Dead Redemption
Ninja Theory games
Sucker Punch games

Good call, it has some of the most impressive kill animations I've seen. They're very gruesome and I rarely see any major clipping or noticeable transitions.
I can't speak for Revelations, But all of other AC games have major clippings...

Modern Warfare 1 and 2 both have satisfying reaction and kill animations.
Heavenly Sword's combat moves and combos were glorious.
God of War 3 is godly pretty much across the board.
GTA4/Red Dead Redemption and their use of Euphoria is endlessly amusing.

Assassins Creed has to me, the very best animations for a playable character. Doing almost anything with Altair and Ezio feels so polished and awesome.

Team Fortress 2 has really amazing, buttery-smooth character animations (especially if you play it at really high framerates...mmmmm).

Assassins Creed series
RE4 and 5
Shadow of the Colossus
Modern Warfare 2
Metal Gear Solid 4/ MGO
edit: God of War series

3rd Strike? Hells yah.

DDS had some AMAZING animation for an RPG, (SMT's best really), especially in taking advantage of the inhuman characteristics.

Too bad Skyward Sword's animation isn't that good during gameplay. Link's movement still looks as stiff as ever and his moves don't transition well into one another.

Cool thread. I know everyone's got their own opinions but Skyward sword looks dated, gaudy and tasteless. Unless melodrama is what you want (which is kind of a faux pas in animation) I struggle to see how anyone can appreciate it without having that Zelda fanaticism.

For me Shadow of the Colossus got me into animation. (please don't read the above as if I'm being condescending) Abe's Oddworld and Heart of Darkness were two others that I loved at the time. Naughty Dog's first two series Crash and Jak always used to make me laugh especially the latter.

Last mention, Episode 2 + Team Fortress 2. Really glad they released the TF2 characters so I can animate them. I have everything except facial animation tools. Alyx's performance was so likeable.
